July 11, 2008 - Could America be now facing it's last supper? This has been the longest campaign season in our nation's 232 year history - and we have miles to go before we are put out of our misery - and THEN the misery begins. Oy vey! And I couldn't wait for Junior to take a hike. Now look what we are facing: A Viet Nam veteran and former POW, who may in fact have sold this country out in more ways than one; and a former Muslim, turned Christian (???), who has openly stated that he will blow with the Muslim wind, if the need arises.
Juan McPain has openly supported amnesty for the illegal crowd - even though legal immigrants and citizens of Hispanic ancestry have said "No!, No!, No!" These people vote - NOT the dishwashers and Home Depot parking lot support-posts. I guess that this presidential wannabe figures that it's easier to give blanket amnesty to 20 MILLION or more criminal lawbreakers and wipe the slate clean - than it will be to force the letter of the existing laws on the books.
Braaaaaaack Obama talks of change - yet he doesn't really speak of WHAT change! What! My underwear after he has completed the sell out of America? If you want to know about this guy, read HIS own books - then you'll know what he really has in mind. Sorry B.O. (kind of stinks around here, doesn't it?) - I was alive when Jack Kennedy was President - and you're no Jack Kennedy - even though the daughter of Camelot and her fat, brain-dead uncle (when will he drive over the bridge?) think that you are America's 'last, best hope'. I personally think that he is America's LAST...
SHIT! We're in deep do-do now, or again, or still - depending on your point of view.
As many of my listeners and readers know, I am a lover of film. Many years ago, while sitting in a theater in Flagstaff, Arizona, I watched the latest offering from Mel Brooks, History of the World: Part I, which as of late (July 2008), AMC cable television has been re-airing. "It's good to be the king" became the hottest line in the film - in fact, was continually used in Brooks' films over the years. But the scene that always stuck in my mind, was that of "The Last Supper", wherein a waiter (played by Brooks) walked behind the actor portraying The Christ, held up a silver serving tray - thereby creating the halo behind Jesus' head. Now, in the many depictions of the Last Supper, which I have seen (including that by noted 19th Century artist, Gustave Doré, or by my man, Leonardo da Vinci), nor in any written reference (including that of the Bible itself) - have I ever heard reference to a server or 'waiter'. But given that The Last Supper was not referenced as a self-serve buffet, it would only make sense that one should be available to the participants of this historical meal.
Now, being in touch with 'The Massah' of unique imagery, Loo-eee Turner once more - I came upon a stroke of genius - the transformation of this famous (or about to be 'infamous') scene - that, which appears upon this page - SOON to be a T-Shirt upon your back.
Look closely: Need I explain more to you? GOOD - I didn't think so.
In closing; Given America's penchant for hero-worshipping, and the fact that this boy from the South Side of Chicaga has been crowned 'Messiah' by the media - all I can say is "Let my people go!"
And to those of you, who are offended by our depiction above, I guess that you don't really understand what is offensive in this nation.
Without Apology, I am
