When visiting my grandchildren a few weeks ago, I was looking at some of my seven year old granddaughters school work. In her lesson assignment was the statement, "I live on Planet Earth." That set chills up my spine.
I thought my grand daughter lived in the United States of America. The One Worlders are doing their work well.
I quit looking at High School History textbooks a long time ago. Those of you who can remember growing up in the school system where true American History was being taught, for a real eye opener, visit one of the government schools in your area and look at their textbooks. You will be shocked.
I reflected on this due to Sharon's and my experience this past July 4th. It was very sobering to say the least. We did a mini Patrick Henry presentation at a major Arizona city's Fourth of July celebration. There were 20,000 minimum in attendance. We spoke from the main stage.
"Henry" talked all about the Declaration of Independence Convention, the American Revolution, the sacrifices the Signors paid, et. cetera. There was a brief smattering moment of applause at the end. As Sharon sang the last verse of "God Bless the USA", she asked everyone to stand up and sing it with her. Less than 10% stood up.
As we worked our way through the crowd afterwards, we passed closed to and through a minimum of 1000 people. .......ONE PERSON THANKED US.
Later in the evening when the National Anthem was played, less than half the audience stood up. The rest just reclined in their chairs or blankets. All this at a gathering that is supposed to celebrate the birthday of our country!! It was little more than a day off from work, a gathering of families to just listen to mindless entertainment from bands playing nothing but secular music, just marking time to see a fireworks display.
Why should I be surprised?! The schools are not teaching our true history and any semblance of patriotism. Many schools have stopped beginning the day with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Sad to say, many churches I visit do not have the American Flag (nor the Christian flag) in the Sanctuary. After 15 years in my ministry and having talked to hundreds of Pastors, I can state that the majority of Pastors today know little or nothing of the true Christian heritage of our country. It's not their fault.
They didn't learn it at Seminary and they grew up with "watered down" or "revisionist" American history. Therefore, most of our churches are not teaching on the true Christian heritage of our country.
I am now finding out that some Christian colleges do not even teach about our Christian heritage!
What we have is the "numbing down" of America.
With the Bible and Prayer banished from schools since 1962, with the drive to a New World Order in full gear, when President Bush, Sr. says "from this moment on we will pledge our allegiance to the sacred shines of the United Nations," with the major superhighway connecting Canada, America, and Mexico as part of the plan to make us one region, with the continued loss of our sovereignty to the United Nations, with the United States Supreme Court making decisions based on International Law as laid down by the United Nations, and not America's, with the relentless drive by the ACLU to remove God and the Cross from all vestiges of public life, (I think you get my point) is it any wonder that we are losing our since of patriotism and respect for the American Way of Life as envisioned by the Founding Fathers?
Wake up America before it is too late!
Thomas Jefferson said "God who gave us life, gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? I TREMBLE FOR MY COUNTRY WHEN I REFLECT THAT GOD IS JUST: THAT HIS JUSTICE CANNOT SLEEP FOREVER.' (emphasis added)
