Where is the American Flag???

Illegals ruining American dream

I think they should make it a felony. But instead of putting them in our already over-crowded prisons, they should just ship them right back where they came from. I am tired of footing the bill for these people. I am tired of them ruining my American dream. I am tired of them complaining all the time. I am tired of having to press 1 for English or for Spanish. My ancestors had to learn English when they came here so what is the difference now. Other nationalities are not complaining to have their language taught or used every day by everybody; only Spanish people are demanding the laws be changed to their benefit. It is messed up that in order to get a job these days you have to be bilingual. I will not learn Spanish because they want to be in my country and not learn my language.

I am sick of our government conforming to people who steal identities in order to work here, who lower our economy by working for a lot less than an American who is trying to support his family will.

Spend some time at the welfare office sometime and see how many of the adults are born here. Not many.

I don’t care if they work hard. I work hard. I am not prejudiced; I just want my American dream given back to me, but as long as there are millions of illegal people here, I will not achieve this!

Protests were in wrong country

Let your country know that you want a country where you can earn enough money to care for your family, where you don’t have to leave and go to another country to find work.

It has been said that people also come to do work that legal Americans will not do. We can get legal Americans to do this work if we just pay them a decent wage. We can pay more for this work if we no longer have to pay for free medical care, welfare, childcare, teaching the English language in our schools and a host of other expenses we pay now because of illegal immigration.

We need to go after the employers who have taken advantage of this cheap labor. They are just as much to blame. I personally would rather pay more for my home and everything else that goes with it and pay less in taxes — taxes that are now paying for illegal immigrants.

I want a country where our citizens want to be Americans, want to speak English, want to proudly fly the American flag. We need to let them know the great advantages of being a legal citizen. They need to finally understand that “illegal” means “illegal,” you have no rights. You have no rights to march, to complain, to expect this country to teach your children English, or to get anything else free.

You can all march until your legs fall off, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter, because you still have no rights, and most of all, you can’t vote.

Protestors should be arrested

Just like with so many international issues, I become so disgusted when Americans seem to believe they must apologize for our laws, values and for just being American. Why do we need to accommodate the demands of everyone?

These massive demonstrations throughout the country carried out now by Mexicans and liberal Americans should wake America up. Although the behavior has been civil, they are carrying the flag of Mexico, not America (I thought they want to become Americans).

The activists have become verbally aggressive in their interviews, condemning even those who have been on their side, like President Bush and the mayor of Phoenix. They walk with posters portraying the president in a negative way. These demonstrations are going to create a young generation of legal or illegal Mexicans who see America in a distorted way. The activists are not addressing the fact that Americans have a problem with illegals who come here.

What would Americans think if people who have come here from Iraq, Pakistan, India, Japan, China or any other country protested in our streets carrying the flag of their country. Think about it.

This problem needs immediate action and if there are illegal people demonstrating in our streets, then they should be arrested and returned to the country whose flag they proudly find.

This time when they are put on a plane, drop them off in the far south of South America. Then at least they won’t just be running back here the next day.

Should we invade Mexico?

1. Why are these people marching here? Shouldn’t they be marching in Mexico for change in their country? It seems they are spitting on the graves of thousands who gave all to free Mexico from Spain and France.

2. If a person can’t be trusted to obey the basic rule of law, how can that person be trusted at all? This is one of the most fundamental requirements of Americans.

3. They also lack another basic requirement of American society: courage. Instead of fighting for change in their own society, they turn tail and ask for “rights” here. These are not immigrants; they are refugees.

4. It’s not true Americans won’t work. I grew up as a rancher, worked construction, in restaurants, and cleaned many bathrooms in my time. My wife works in a factory and spent years as a housekeeper. My son has worked in factories, fields, construction, mining and slaughterhouses. Yet not one of us is an illegal “immigrant.” How can that be? Everyone “knows” that Americans are incapable of cleaning themselves or even cooking meals.

I’ve never had a problem filling my work crews with legal workers, whether black, white, Hispanic, Asian or otherwise. There is no need to hire someone who shouldn’t be here at the expense of those who come here legally.

5. If we let these criminals blackmail us into giving them citizenship, we are defecating on the works and blood of millions of immigrants who built an envied nation.

6. Perhaps the answer is to forget Iraq and Afghanistan, and instead occupy Mexico, install a government, and restore some measure of wealth and peace to these people. We have already invaded other countries for similar reasons.

Employers are the real problem

There is law in the Social Security Administration that says something like “No employer shall hire a person without a Social Security number.” I suggest we strengthen this law where it needs to be and enforce it.

When an employer needs help, he can hire a person, turn in that employee’s number and know very quickly if he has a legal resident. This way all those border patrolmen can direct traffic going south and not worry about northbound traffic.

All those millions proposed for all those programs and laws will not be spent and that by itself might cause a great depression worse than the one in 1929.

All these people come to this country to make a decent living. A small percentage is actually criminals. They work for minimum or less wages and send home money to their family. With the high cost of rental homes and incidentals, they have very little to spend. If they get sick, the only place that will accept them is the county hospital, after a long, long wait, they finally get taken care of. With the wages we pay them, they can barely afford to pay back the county.

I suggest we who hire these people are the problem not they. There is no problem with Spanish-speaking kids in school. Install dedicated teachers in the first three grades and problem solved.

By the time I reached third grade, I could speak, write and understand English. Maybe it was the beatings, or maybe the normal intellect of kids that did it, I don’t know, but I learned.

If my teachers had not been such segregationists, I might have learned sooner.

Immigration solutions

1. Require that all guest workers pass a written and spoken English test within a fixed period or be deported.

2. Deal with illegal aliens who have committed a crime, have been deported and return to the U.S. Since they have been caught back in this country, a trial is unnecessary to prove them guilty. Re-open Alcatraz or open another camp at Guantanamo, giving them seeds, fertilizer and farming equipment, and let them support themselves so as to minimize expenses during their lifetime sentences. This is also a fitting sentence for coyotes, although a trial would be required to prove guilt in this case.

3. Revoke Executive Order 13166 requiring all federal agencies, doctors and hospitals receiving federal funds to provide services in languages other than English. This order alone has an annual cost approximating $46 billion.

4. It would bankrupt our nation to provide translators and translations in all of the more than 300 native languages spoken in this country, but it’s unfair to provide special languages for some and not for all. Let’s make English the official language of the U.S. and not create a problem similar to that in Canada.

In reality, it is most unfair to those who are not forced to learn English, because they will not prosper.

5. Amend the Constitution to grant automatic U.S. citizenship upon birth in this country only if at least one of the married parents is a U.S. citizen, or both parents are U.S. citizens.
