A ’Thorn’ in Her Side?

Whipping Up a Frenzy on WINGs of Svengali

By Jeffrey Bennett, Publisher

Jeffrey Bennett, Publisher

"...rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:..." - Psalms 144:11 KJV

It never seems to amaze me the ignorance (which can be corrected) and stupidity (which cannot), permeates the so-called “Patriot” community – and from people who should know better. What has happened to truth? Professionalism? Friendship? Integrity in journalism?

As Federal Observer contributing columnist Alan Caruba has stated, If this doesn't tell you "what time it is in America" then you must be totally brain-DEAD!

Well – apparently America is more than brain-dead – as are some of those, who would have you believe that they are the conscience of the nation. Over the past (nearly) two years, the (once) dynamic duo of Victor Thorn and Lisa Guliani have spent countless hours of precious broadcast time on WING TV, raising a public awareness of and exposing the truth behind the 9/11 tragedy and subsequent cover-up. Thorn has even published a book on the subject, 911 On Trial. For their work in this direction they are to be commended for the thorough investigative work, which has been put forth – then cometh the turn of the screw.

"A wicked tongue of fire shall be extinguished of its false accusation when a wave of truth wrenches the nose ring from the wagging tongue and buries the adolescent in sinking sands of time. Chanting in clusters and lashing out against the Patriot community will profit nothing except to entertain dividing devils amongst us. The Porcelain face of a TV with Wings should fly fittingly with like-minded individuals lest the nest turn and sting a Thorn's happiness with misery never-ending. Dearest Wing TV, Pride stops to admire - Excellency proceeds forth; and Consistency drives U.S. all to a place well deserved." - Louis Turner

Like a tabloid paper in the check-out line at your local Wal-Mart, WING TV and it’s two producer/reporters have stooped to the depths of an immature diatribe with their incessant attacks (expose’s?) on a wide ranging group of media ‘personalities,’ including Mike Ruppert, Jeff Rense, Jack Blood, Alex Jones, their “good friend” Rick Stanley – and now their other “good friend,” the publisher of The Federal Observer. In the case of Alex Jones, I do not disagree with them, however what is the REAL agenda behind all of these personal attacks by Thorn and Guliani? Maybe it’s a jealousy thing because each of these individuals enjoy a wider readership or listening audience than WING TV. Who knows?…but the purpose of this column is to respond to their latest round of attacks – against myself and the direction I recently embarked on as the manager of the Republic Trading Group, a division of the Republic Broadcasting Network.

As a number of my readers and listeners are aware, I, along with John Stadtmiller (and a ’silent’ partner) were co-founders of the now-defunct Republic Radio International (RRI) in late 1995. It is fairly common knowledge that the relationship between John and I was a tumultuous one at best and it ended abruptly in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998 and I was no longer a partner in the endeavor. By the time our association had ended, I had put nearly $80,000 of my own money into the network. Some months later, John sold the network to Dan and Loris Tomkins, yet I was not to participate in the sale nor be compensated in any manner whatsoever. What eventually happened to RRI is not germane to this column. Needless to say, I spent a good number of years angered by the turn of events and was quite vocal in my opinion of John.

Sometime later, when James Lloyd of Christian Media Research published a piece entitled, Short-wave Wars, which had many errors in it – I was compelled to contact Lloyd and “set the record straight.” It was in that response, that I identified Steve Quayle as our ‘silent partner’ – a fact that Guliani has ignored in her recent diatribe, Jeffrey Bennett & John Stadtmiller: Strange Bedfellows.

It should be noted at this point, that although John and I had very little to do with one another after these events, we remained keenly aware of each other’s whereabouts and circumstances. As late as the morning of September 11, 2001 – after I had concluded a two hour live broadcast on WWCR – I received a call from John inviting me to join the Genesis Broadcasting Network, which I politely declined.

Ignoring details such as this, allows “journalists” to manipulate their readership – something that the main-stream media is well known for. Choosing not to contact me prior to publishing her attack is also the modus-operendi of the Zionist controlled "press." Has Lisa Guliani sold out to the dark-side? She has certainly accused me of no less. Even CBS Television’s 20/20 contacted me some years ago offering me an opportunity to defend my position on alternative Cancer treatment therapies – before the program aired - which is more than my “good friend” Lisa did before she went on the attack.

Lisa G: ”Bennett now broadcasts his one-hour show in the time slot formerly filled by Peter Schaenk, who was unceremoniously dumped from the program line-up only weeks ago. From what I and many others have observed, these two events (the emergence of Bennett and ditching of Schaenk) practically coincided with one another.”

First of all, I am in no position to comment on the ”ditching of Schaenk” as this was a decision made by the management of RBN. As to now broadcasting Perspectives on America on RBN - once the hour became vacant, I offered to temporarily fill the time-slot until John could find a replacement – and that commitment still stands if it will benefit the network. When I joined RTG, John offered me a broadcasting slot on RBN and I declined the offer, instead suggesting that I could better serve the network by appearing as a guest on the RBN line-up or occasionally fill in if a broadcaster need the day off. When I left the airwaves earlier in 2005, I was resigned to the fact that I was finished – that I had fulfilled my mission and that there was nothing more to be said by me. Whether I continue to broadcast for RBN or on any other venue is of little importance to me at this time in my life. But unlike some, my “ego” does not require that I have a microphone or the television cameras turned on each and every day.

Lisa G: ”Bennett has also merged forces with Stadtmiller once again in a joint business venture that can only be described as bizarre. Bennett and Stadtmiller (B-S for short) now operate the Republic Trading Group, which deals in selling gold and silver.”

Due to a move my family and I went through in late June 2005 and the obligations, which went with it – I was off-line for nearly two months. When I finally got back on-line, I had in excess of 6,000 emails, which I had to go through, including column submissions to The Federal Observer by contributing columnists, personal, business and several thousand pieces of “junk.”

One such email I received was from my gold importer in Florida. Through my own company, Kettle Moraine, Ltd., I have been a long time purveyor of gold and silver products for my listeners and until late 2004, was able to support the cost of the five day per week broadcast. It is well known that I have been a provider of precious metals for over 15 years and have been an owner/collector of same for nearly 48 years. Guliani and Thorn have long been aware of my involvement with gold and silver. It was because of a ten year relationship with my importer, that I was contacted to see if I had an interest in taking my knowledge – and what they said was my integrity to a new level. It was explained to me that a former associate of mine was in need of someone with my knowledge and the political leanings, which I had demonstrated to the listeners over the past decade. From what I have been told, that over the previous several weeks, while a search for someone to take over management of their precious metals division, the consensus was that John Stadtmiller felt that I probably would not be willing to talk with him. I told my representative that I would at least speak with John – but that I would not guarantee the outcome of said discussion.

The Republic Trading Group was born out of the mutual need of network and listener alike. RBN had previously enjoyed sponsorship by a gold, silver and rare coin company, that is no longer in business. When that relation ended (due to questionable practices by the sponsor), the decision was made to develop an in-house division of Republic Broadcasting Network. This would serve two purposes:

1. Provide a product at a fair price to an audience that had proven that they were buyers of gold and silver – for whatever reason.

2. Provide RBN with an income stream to help contribute toward the costs of running an independent broadcasting network.

All of the above was shared with me, by my gold importer before John and I first spoke on the phone.

The Republic Trading Group was established by RBN in January of 2005 – nearly nine months before I was asked to assume the duties of manager/representative and it was with that knowledge that I agreed to represent the firm only after certain criteria had been met – and it was. What that criteria was, is between John and myself. The one key factor in our initial conversation was the acknowledgement of our problems in the past and how the public might perceive our new relationship.

Lisa G: ”Are all these befuddled listeners supposed to now forget the ranting we’ve been subjected to for years - just like that?”

"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." - 1 Corinthians 13:11

It was agreed that although we may never come to terms with the problems of the past – the time had come for each of us to realize that our situation didn’t amount to a hill of beans, compared to the problems of this nation and her people. If John and I can move beyond our disagreements – why can’t the audience – or more importantly – Lisa Guliani – or do she and Victor Thorn have an agenda of which, their audience is not yet aware? In my own personal case, it is as with the quote above, "… I put away childish things."

Svengali and Trilby

Lisa G: ”… now RBN is going to completely submerge its listeners in even more commercials and infomercials (as if being up to our nostrils in them already wasn’t bad enough) because they are pushing the gold and silver theme hot & heavy.”

Interesting comment considering that I had listened on and off to RBN for a considerable length of time before this ”… bi-polar merging of two opposing forces…" and have yet to see an increase in ”… commercials and infomercials …". What does it cost to run a network Lisa? What do you have against a degree of commercialization in order to pay the bills? Do you demand that Merklinger remove all crass-commercialism while you and Victor are on the air with Alex as guests or guest hosts? There is a segment of the listening audience that wants to convert their ”… extra thousands of fiat dollars…” to a commodity, which has maintained an international standard of purchasing power for nearly six-thousand years. Why shouldn’t RBN through it’s own division be able to provide our audience with said ”… little gold rocks and silver coins …”.

As to the listener getting to sit ”… on your purchase until ... the apocalypse hits.” - if one would read your Bible – Revelations to be exact – then you’ll know that in the Apocalypse – gold and silver won’t do you any good. You can’t take it with you folks – but as an inter-generational way to pass wealth on the children and grandchildren – it is something to consider. Does RTG tell their listeners to put all of their fiat dollars into gold and silver? Absolutely NOT! I would not do it for myself nor have I ever recommended it to a single one of my clients for these past fifteen years.

Lisa G: ”Truly amazing how money makes strange bedfellows, isn’t it?”

Yes it is! In Lisa’s socialist way of thinking, she would deny a network from its mere existence in order to provide an alternative to the main-stream media and would prevent me from making a living by applying my knowledge in an arena, which I was taught from the age of ten. I never have been a lover of champagne, but what is wrong with eating at the Outback Steakhouse once in a while (like once every six months)? It sure beats working at a college-town coffee shop cleaning out toilets in the men’s room – doesn’t it?

Lisa G: ” But remember, Internet metals dealers aren’t exactly considered “reputable” by mainstream brokers.”

  • I guess that being in the Rare Coin “business” for twenty-five years in Arizona and charging 20% to 60% mark-up on gold and silver coins – all while quoting the Bible to peddle your wares - makes one a reputable, 'mainstream' dealer.

  • I guess that being in the Rare Coin “business” for nearly thirty years in Bloomington, MN and charging 20% to 60% mark-up on gold and silver coins makes one a reputable, 'mainstream' dealer.

  • I guess that being in the Rare Coin “business” for a decade in Burnsville, MN and charging 20% to 60% mark-up on gold and silver coins makes one a reputable, 'mainstream' dealer.

  • I guess that ’Serving Rare Coin and Precious Metals Investors since 1960’ high atop Santa Monica Boulevard and charging 20% to 60% mark-up on gold and silver coins makes one a reputable, 'mainstream' dealer.

  • I guess that being in the Rare Coin “business” for a quarter century – and now living in Beverly Hills, CA - and charging 20% to 40% mark-up at the wholesale level to dealers on gold and silver coins makes one a reputable, 'mainstream' dealer. Remember the “rare coin” funds at Merrill Lynch? Love the Mr. T. starter set. The penny loafers (MS-68 Red, no doubt) and lack of socks is a nice touch too. Oh well, take tea and see.
  • Other than the fact that RTG does not sell gold and silver through the internet, I could provide far more examples of reputable, 'mainstream' dealers - in fact I could write a book titled, The Gold Wars of the New Millennium.

Lisa G: ”Love is in the air. So is the smell of money. Lots and lots of money. YOUR money.”

What’s love got to do with it? Let’s review Bennett-Stadtmiller’s ”… exciting special package” for $1,975.00, which was offered on RBN on November 1st, 2005 (Basis: spot Gold - $459.00; Silver - $7.44):

  • 25 each, 1/10th oz., 2005 Gold American Eagles @ $51.40

  • 60 each, 1 oz. Silver Rounds @ $7.84
  • The above quoted individual prices quoted were at the time – RTG’s wholesale cost figures for what our suppliers call "small purchases." The shipping and insurance on this package came to $18.00, making the total COST $1,773.40. These sales created a total gross “profit” of $201.60 – in this case – less than 11% gross profit. From this, airtime, satellite time, web-site band-width and hosting, telephone bills, office rental, employee wages and utilities must all be paid. How many businesses do you know of that can make it on 11%? Oh yes – I make a little bit too.

At the time of our offering, 1/10th oz., 2005 Gold American Eagles were being offered in the Numismatic News by one reputable, 'mainstream' dealer for $59.00 each and on the web-site of one of the nations largest bullion dealers for between $63. and $67. per coin. This makes the retail at Republic Trading Group at just under $57.00 per coin - a bargain. But that’s not good enough for the uninformed Ms. Guliani – because RTG is not ” …considered “reputable” by mainstream brokers.” I would think not, why my goodness – we actually offer a lot of goods for the dollar exchanged and the cartel controlled ’Rare Coin Industry’ just can’t allow that!

Lisa G: ”Be forewarned: if you ask taboo questions of people who don’t want to be questioned regarding their actions, prepare to be ridiculed, yelled at, and castigated as a ‘pot-stirrer.’”

First of all – no one has called me regarding my involvement at Republic Broadcasting network or with RTG, therefore I have been in no position to respond in the manner that Lisa suggests. Oh - that's not true:

On Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at 07:39 AM, Lisa Guliani wrote:
    Hey Jeff,
I've been listening to you on Frank's show. Just wanted to say that you've nailed it all dead center. I was so happy to hear your voice on the show! Glad to hear you're still kicking NWO ass on the airwaves..:-)

    Keep on keepin' on...

    Best wishes always
    ,
    Lisa Guliani

It would seem that Lisa needs to heed her own advice: ”… if you ask taboo questions of people who don’t want to be questioned regarding their actions, prepare to be ridiculed, yelled at, and castigated as a ‘pot-stirrer.’”

And so now, I ask Lisa the purpose of her actions? Short of suggesting that she has been taken over by “mind control” experiments or members of the Chen(ey) Gang - just who has invaded her mind, which has affected the changes in the caliber of her writing? There was a time I felt that she was amongst the brilliant investigative commentators of our time. I can only invite readers of The Federal Observer to read her archives and draw your own conclusions. I believe that the ability is still there – but someone has placed an undue influence over Lisa and sent her out to ”search and destroy” everyone who may disagree with her/their momentary alignments and/or associations? Who? Who could that be?

~ Svengali and his Trilby ~
The word Svengali means 'a person who completely dominates and controls another, usually for selfish or sinister motives'. It is a literary allusion to the character Svengali, a hypnotist, in George du Maurier's 1894 novel Trilby. Example: "However, friends say that the mercurial and charismatic Wing began as a mentor to Mark (Lisa?), and later turned into a Svengali" (Fortune, 1996).

As the subtitle of Thorn's book says, GUILTY!

Figure it out for yourselves folks!
