Missouri voters on Tuesday easily approved a measure aimed at nullifying the new federal health care law, becoming the first state in the nation where ordinary people made known their dismay over the issue at the ballot box.

The measure was intended to invalidate a crucial element of President Obama’s health care law — namely, that most people be required to get health insurance or pay a tax penalty.

One-third of those surveyed would decline to intervene

If your doctor had a drug problem or was impaired in some way, you would probably hope that his or her colleagues would intervene and see that he gets help. A new survey suggests that doesn’t happen very often.

A study in JAMA says a survey of physicians finds that while most support the professional commitment to report other physicians who they feel are incompetent or impaired — such as from alcohol or drug use — many did not follow through on making a report when faced with such a situation.

Allow me to relate to you a story of an American citizen’s experience with the 2010 Census:

When the census began earlier this year, he did not receive the form. Then, if you recall, the government said there would be a second mailing. He did not receive the form in the second mailing. Soon afterwards he saw a notice in his regional newspaper that informed those having still not received their census forms to call a certain telephone number and request a form be sent to them.

Now, many in Congress already face well-funded attacks by special interests in retaliation for standing in support of reform. GOP representatives and attorneys general are trying to repeal or overturn the legislation, and deceptive attack ads are hitting the airwaves.

As the battle over government-controlled health care continues, many Americans simply want out of the whole mess. They instead seek a plan of wellness based on healthy eating and natural supplements.

That approach, however, is the opposite of the health care agenda of the American Medical Association and the Pharmaceutical industry. Those forces, which literally control America’s health industry, are based on sickness. The sicker you are, the more drugs you will buy.

I’m all for doctors. To me, there is no more valuable service on this earth than the professional care administered by a qualified practitioner of the medicinal arts. I don’t particularly enjoy going to the doctor (they always lecture me about smoking) however I can’t think of too many things more comforting than the knowledge that an experienced doc is close at hand should I get a treble hook in my eye, shoot myself in the thigh, or get my foot stuck in mouth.

Being from the Missouri Ozarks, I grew up with a lot of “untraditional” home medical practices. We always figured that there was no need to waste the doc’s time if you could fix it yourself – kinda’ the same theory as changing your own oil on the family Chevy. It’s not that tough a job and the pros have more important stuff on their minds.

We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong.  So, here it is I freely admit to being wrong.  As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact.

I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labeled “opinion makers.”  Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.

Medicaid audit finds that prescriptions were filled for 1,800 dead patients

In Texas, a dead doctor “wrote” prescriptions for Medicaid recipients. Not to be outdone, pharmacies in Texas and four other states filled controlled-substance prescriptions for more than 1,800 dead Medicaid patients, according to a forensic audit by the U.S. Government Accountability Office.

Taxpayer dollars were also blown by Texas physicians who handed out narcotics prescriptions while lacking the authority to write them.

Colloidal silver is the product the FDA and many mainstream medical people love to hate. Listening to them you would think every person taking colloidal silver is going to turn gray with silver accumulation in their skin (argyria). Their worst nightmare is people taking colloidal silver to combat the H1N1 swine flu – the nightmare for them is that it might actually work. Since I am a health professional who has utilized colloidal silver in practice for more than 15 years with thousands of people, I’m more than happy to share some insights on the subject.
