The Middle Hour of Our Grief

September 11, 2001

By Lisa Guliani

"Bereavement in their death to feel
Whom We have never seen -
A Vital Kinsmanship import
Our Soul and theirs - between -"

~ Emily Dickinson

"War has been waged against us by stealth and deceit and murder. This nation is peaceful, but fierce when stirred to anger. This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others. It will end in a way, and at an hour, of our choosing."

"As we have been assured, neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, can separate us from God's love. May He bless the souls of the departed. May He comfort our own. And may He always guide our country. God bless America."
~ George W. Bush
, Friday, September 14, 2001 in an address at National Cathedral during the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks.

Within a matter of days, we will mark the passage of two years' time since that unforgettable blood-red morning of September 11, 2001. The fires that raged in New York City for one hundred agonizing days have long since been extinguished and we no longer search to recover bits and pieces, scraps and body parts. "Ground Zero" has been superficially swept clean of any visible signs of the carnage witnessed on that fateful morning, and the stench of death no longer lingers, reeking in the air. More than 3,000 persons lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. Translated into blunt English, more than 3000 human beings were slaughtered on September 11th. 24 months later, the words of George Bush still haunt me, as I recall the face of a boy I knew in school - a boy who grew to be a handsome and successful young man who worked at the World Trade Center. His name was Gregory Reda and he was 33 years old on the day his life was suddenly terminated by the New World Order Cabal. Thousands of names and faces mark this horrific day. They are the names and faces of those we knew and loved - the names and faces of the dead and the haunted visages of those who were there, those who stood in the thick of it as "it" happened and survived. The rest of us went through "it" too, although our experience was via our television screens, courtesy of the media whores.

24 months later, we are no closer to resolution of the events that transpired that day. There is no accountability, there is no "Osama", there are no credible government investigations. The 'evidence" has been removed from sight and concerted efforts have been made over the last two years to wipe their existence from our minds and memories. The whole disgusting scenario of September 11th has been "reworked" by those in power and we have been diverted from focusing on this matter, as our leaders push the brooms of war, sweeping the mismatched pieces of this puzzle into darkened corners. 9/11 is a Rubik's cube that is so twisted and turned around, thanks to the multitude of lies we've been fed by the government squawkers in collusion with the pathetic excuses we know as 'mainstream journalists" - who can say what is the truth anymore? We've been caught up in the dramas of war mongers into believing diversionary tales - "wars on terror" have taken center stage in 2003 – and as the days come and go, our thoughts are less and less with those who were murdered on that blood-red day in September. It's back to business for most people. Not for everyone, though.

It's maddening to think that the nation is going to allow the massacre of approximately 3000 people to be buried in a rubble heap of concrete, glass, steel and lies. And while stickered flags remain affixed to car windows and "stars & stripes" adorn residential neighborhoods, the symbol of all we are supposed to be as a nation is not so vivid anymore. It's been tainted and stained with the blood of innocents, in yet another despicable backroom maneuver perpetrated by evil men who seek even more power than they already possess.

I can still see the faces of friends who were killed on September 11, 2001. Men and women I grew up with, whose lives were surely taking off in exciting directions. I see the faces of firefighters I knew, who lost their lives in heroic efforts to save the lives of strangers - and all this so that a few wealthy elite could achieve their reprehensible objectives. We have been swept along in a riptide of deception since 9/11, we've witnessed certain individuals capitalizing on the deaths of their loved ones, we've listened to the empty words of our President, and learned that there was much more involved to the story than we were told. Beyond public scrutiny, even more insidious plans were being created and implemented by the same dangerous men whose hands are forever stained with an ocean of blood. The American flag still waves, but it is a fading symbol. Let us not have our attention so distracted and diverted by untruths that we fail to remember - to always remember - that pivotal day two years ago. Much has been made of "terror threats" since that time, and Americans are as divided as ever before in history. The men in power are ever plotting their strategic moves and power grabs, they still skulk around spinning more lies to cover their previous lies. Empty words and empty gestures such as building memorials to the dead don't bring about closure. The truth of that day remains hidden today, in 2003 - hidden somewhere within the false stories and outright fabrications, and it waits for us to draw it out. It wasn't so long ago that we can't recall the thick columns of choking smoke, the infernal fires that refused to die, the tons of concrete and twisted metal and the human beings who were crushed, incinerated, and burnt alive. The images still scroll through my mind two years later, despite all this never-ending talk of "war" and "terrorists" and "liberating other nations from tyranny". These are just more lies. The men who run the world have only one goal in mind - total control - and as has been made quite evident, this will be achieved by whatever means necessary. It's all a means to an end for those calling the shots.

We must remember September 11, 2001 was part of a deliberate plan. It was mass murder right before our eyes, and the real terrorists still roam free within America's borders. The REAL terrorists have gotten away with this massacre because we have not demanded accountability. We haven't gotten in their faces and forced them into the spotlight. There has been no justice, no vindication, no day of reckoning. The nation has rolled with the rhetoric and the propaganda, and wallowed in lie after lie after lie.

Two years have passed. It is a sad, telling testament to who we are - we who call ourselves "Americans" – if we allow another two years to pass without putting an end to the lies. Truth must see the light of day or the 3000 souls taken on September 11, 2001 will surely have died in vain.

What will come next for us? The middle hour of our grief has come and gone. We can either take control of this situation or let them soak the ground with another river of blood.

The choice is ours to make.
