FOREWARD: Be sure and read Congressman Paul's original speech before the U.S. House of Representatives, that caused this response:
Sorry, Mr. Franklin, ‘We’re All Democrats Now’

CounterPoint: A Letter to Ron Paul

the Last Crusades - Book I

By Cliff Jones - Elmira, New York

Dear Congressman Paul;

Excellent speech; "sorry, Mr. Franklin..." There's a few things you should know and take into account yourself when you speak of 'the republic.'

Democracy: What's missing from most words rendered useless in Orwellian fashion is the mindset and meaning of the coiners of a particular word. Aristotle and Plato write originally on the word 'democracy,' which is defined as a popular dictatorship, a militaristic system which is hoped to be a temporary measure if ever necessitated, to get beyond a perceived crisis. If a 'majority' goes along with one or a few who would be dictator(s) you have democracy. It's use today is in line with the perpetual state of war the globalists are generating in order to establish and maintain "global democracy." Bad idea, I'm with you that we need to put that word in it's grave, but...

In Orwell's own writings on politics and words, he says "democracy" merely means "something that's good" anymore:

"International law" is claimed by Albert Pike (Freemasonry's grand pooh-bah, in his 1871 book "Morals and Dogma") to be the highest authority on the planet. You have a lot of folks these days who see it that way too, as in nearly everyone who has anything to do with governance in this nation, especially the judiciary. How has this system fallen into hands desirous of eliminating our independence? Simple, it happened right from day one...

The constitution is a fraud, it was created fraudulently, was intentionally full of holes (for lawyers to build wiggle-room) and the American people knew it right from the start (as did Pat Henry: "I smell a rat...") and demanded there be no constitution. The lawyers pulled it off anyway so we demanded a Bill of Rights as our ultimate check on "constitutional authority." The judiciary (which doesn't really exist lawfully, nor does the congress or executive) have made sure we no longer have any check on "constitutional authority" available to us. The Bill of Rights is the supreme law of the land, if we have such a thing anymore, and it is NOT a series of "amendments" to the constitution, they in fact directly contradict much of it, the passage of the Bill of Rights necessitated changes to parts of the constitution.

This has never been done, but the most important is the oath of office. The present oath, by lawyerly design, makes one who takes it a tool of the lawyers (and now international law) and a potential enemy of me and my liberty. (see supreme court rule 7(C), they 'recuse' themselves from initiating checks upon unconstitutional actions by the other 'branches') This is part of why I have NO venue for any justice under the present system, nor does say Bob Shulz, Dick Samkanin, the veterans suffering insult upon injury, anyone not getting anything (except ripped off) from the present system. I can utterly prove to anyone that the constitution was a fraud, and the likes of Madison and Washington merely paid lip service to truth, as in the Madison statements you quote (Federalist #47, 63 et al) but their ACTIONS were a usurpation of power into the hands of the BAR, another unpatriotic bunch that have done more to subvert liberty than anything save the central bank... which could not have happened if the lawyers hadn't ripped off "we, the people," with their intentional vagueness in Article III. If you want unequivocal proof of the fraud that we labor under, all demonstrated through the words and actions of the 'founding fathers,' contact me. There's one excellent, short book I can recommend (and put you in touch with the author).

The constitution can be made to work, but this would require the erasure of about 99% of all statutes and elimination of 70% of the entire federal government altogether.

Sounds great to me! Where do I sign up?
