Herron: It ain't broke; it's just not enforcedBy Jan Herron With the 2008 election right around the corner, we must identify and target the illegal migration-pandering politicians; either stop their re-election (with an opponent in the primary) or vote them out of office in November. We must take back Congress, one politician at a time. During debates, they sound like parrots reciting ad nauseum "Our immigration system is broken." Not at all, candidates. Things break from over-use; our immigration laws lack enforcement but have never been used. Neither Republicans nor Democrats care about Americans or US sovereignty. They've formed a coalition to sell our country to China, Mexico, Dubai or any other bidder offering the best deal to these politicians. By bringing swarms of Third World cheap laborers to the US, politicians, globalists and business cronies reap multimillions for their personal pockets. They hope to create a permanent class of serfs by adding bankrupt and unemployed Americans to the Third-World slave imports. The elected officials, intended to serve our interests, have instead become our masters as well as our worst enemy. By pandering to the Mexican government, our officials seem to believe they'll further America’s interests, or so they'd like us to believe. It's hard to tell which is more treacherous. Hillary Clinton is a perfect example in siding with Governor Spitzer of New York, in issuing driver licenses to illegal aliens. Further, candidate Clinton voted against English as the official language. Federal refusal to enforce our southern borders allows 5000+ illegal aliens daily to invade our country. The job of stopping the invasion is far out of control, and screams for military reinforcement under combat rules of engagement. We've heard the politicians' promises to "secure the border" so often it's become a meaningless joke. Politicians hold meeting after meeting, discussion after discussion, but creating more "compromise" solutions will never stop the invasion. The 20 million-plus illegal aliens allowed to camp out in our country are clear testimony to politicians' refusal to enforce existing laws. That illegal aliens receive no advance medical screening is a serious risk for both public health and national security. The increased incidence of contagious and often deadly diseases (such as smallpox, anthrax and similar nasty weaponized diseases, TB, dengue hemorrhagic fever, E.coli, hepatitis, AIDS) known to be linked to illegal aliens is still waved away when the illegal alien problem is discussed. The past funds Congress provided to reimburse hospitals for legally required "emergency" medical care was nothing but "hush money" to keep hospitals quiet about the problem. With no further reimbursement funds coming, hospitals will face the question of closing or reducing levels of care. Reauthorizing federal money for medical screenings of arrested illegal alien detainees would certainly be in order! With Americans' increased awareness of the illegal alien problem, they're outraged to observe that their lawbreaking is tolerated and even encouraged! Where do we see illegals being punished for breaking US laws? Where is justice for American citizens? Without the rule of law, the US economy will fall and our nation will fall into chaos. When illegal aliens return home because the US no longer has jobs or other economic incentives to attract anyone, that will solve the illegal migration problem. But such a nightmare solution far exceeds the horror tales of "mass roundups" attributed to Americans who want the illegal aliens in the US removed. What bewilders and ultimately discourages Americans is seeing that elected government officials have no objection to allowing continued defiance and the breakdown of our laws. When have American citizens been allowed to pick and choose which laws we wish to obey? Yet illegal aliens have this privilege every day, and it will only lead to anarchy. Voting with conviction and the purpose of removing any politicians who allow this travesty to continue is Americans' solution. We have a choice and must exercise it. Illegal aliens should not be in the US. Why do our government officials dictate a "hands-off illegals" policy, allowing them to violate laws with impunity for which US citizens would be fined or jailed? We as citizens should have more rights than illegal aliens but exactly the reverse are true. Adding insult to injury, it's the taxes of those same US citizens that subsidize and enable illegal aliens to remain in the US. ENFORCE THE IMMIGRATION LAWS ON THE BOOKS. Citizens who oppose the giveaway of America know that enforcement of existing laws is the answer. Laws exist to prohibit and punish employers from hiring illegal aliens and slumlords that pack apartment buildings with illegal foreign invaders. Without jobs to provide living expenses and money to send home, and with no US housing available, illegal aliens will be forced to leave of their own volition. What could be more cost-effective than for illegal aliens to be forced to pay their own costs of repatriations, saving American taxpayers the cost of deporting them? The solution even has a name: Attrition through enforcement aka SELF DEPORTATION! Many federal government officials are ignoring their sworn oath of responsibility to America and are traitors to the rule of law. While our young men and women are fighting and dying to protect the US from terrorist attacks, these politicians allow the country to fail from within. We all need to thank Congressman Tom Tancredo, of Colorado, for bringing the serious issue of illegal immigration to the presidential debates. If not for Tancredo, the other candidates wouldn’t begin to touch this serious issue. They are now forced to deal with it. Our troops aren't dying to promote Open Borders or the rights of illegal aliens. November 2, 2007 © Jan Herron, 2007.
