In Memorium…

On a calm, and peaceful Monday in New York, the Vipers made their final preparations. The morrow, would be another day.

…and with this, I rest my case for the weekend.

Be blessed my friends, and we’ll see you on Monday.

Case: Misc ramblings on the United Looted States

Posted By The Publisher on September 10, 2010

I have been watching the persistent reluctance of small business to do anything in this climate of ferocious Marxist drivel and looting policies coming out of the halls of power. Some of these once productive businesses can’t and many simply won’t risk any more. Reminds me of the story in Atlas Shrugged where the producers were hammered by the looters in power to the point where they went on strike. Amazing parallels pop up every day including most of the arguments the plunderers in power use. (more…)

Ashurst: Border Manifesto #5

Posted By The Publisher on September 9, 2010

Several weeks ago in the small town of San Lorenzo, Chihuahua a gang of thugs connected to one of Mexico’s large Drug Cartels entered a country dance and abducted a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl and disappeared into the night. The next day the severed heads of these two local kids showed up on the window sill of a local café, and the two bodies were deposited in the town square. The two victims had done nothing to their killers, but rather were picked at random in another arrogant exhibition of the outlaw’s reign of terror. (more…)

Ross: You Wanted My Thoughts On Burning The Koran?

Posted By The Publisher on September 9, 2010

It took awhile, but today someone finally asked me what I thought about the Reverend Terry Jones’ plan to burn copies of the Koran this coming Saturday. I guess it really doesn’t make that much of a difference now, as I read on CNN that he stated that he has tentatively cancelled his plans to do so. Whether or not he goes ahead with it is irrelevant, because the question got me started thinking again. And you know what happens when I start thinking, I end up writing something that invariably pisses someone off. (more…)

Zanoza: Obama’s Chicago On the Potomac – It’s the Chicago Way

Posted By The Publisher on September 9, 2010

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I first wrote and posted this column in January of 2009. Little did I know at the time my commentary about Chicago-style politics and its influence on the Obama administration would be so prophetic. From the Louisiana Purchase and the Nebraska Corn Husker Kickback, which helped to pass the Health Care Reform legislation, Washington, D.C. has seemingly become a mirror image of how things have been done in Chicago for nearly a century.

Some of the information in this piece came from a book titled “The Outfit: The Role of Chicago’s Underworld in the Shaping of Modern America” by Gus Russo. Another great read regarding the misuse of unions and corruption is “Supermob: How Sidney Korshak and His Criminal Associates Became America’s Hidden Power Brokers” also penned by Gus Russo. (more…)

Martini & Hum: Aspartame Awareness Weekend – What You Can Do

Posted By The Publisher on September 9, 2010

For 30 years, aspartame (AminoSweet, Equal, NutraSweet, Spoonful, Canderel, E951, Benevia, etc.) has caused sickness and death in 100 countries.

In the beginning, the FDA tried to get G. D. Searle indicted for submitting fraudulent studies that did everything from filtering out the neoplasms to excising brain tumors, and putting dead rats back in the study and resurrected them on paper. This failed because the lawyers for the manufacturer hired the two federal prosecutors. (more…)

Ewart: Without an Idea, Capital and Resources, the American Worker is Nothing!

Posted By The Publisher on September 9, 2010

Did you see Obama in a labor day speech in Milwaukee this last weekend, dripping all over himself about the American worker? He was in full campaign mode to his base. It was, to this observer, disgusting. In the true spirit of Marxism and “let the workers of the world unite”, (Andy Stern – SEIU) he gushed socialist praises and accolades on his adoring audience. He shouted about his accomplishments of regulating the banks, wall street and the fat cats, doing as he always does, pitting one class of people against another. (more…)

The climate and renewable energy con is losing its luster – prompting anguish and desperation

It’s been a rough few weeks for the “eco-progressive” fringe.

Static jet streams induced near-record high temperatures in parts of the United States and Russia, but extreme cold pummeled Seattle, England and much of the Southern Hemisphere. Perhaps Al Gore, Michael Mann and Rajendra Pachauri can turn this hodgepodge into “catastrophic climate change,” but most folks understand it as Mother Nature and weather. (more…)

Fed Up With Politics, and Politicians, in Illinois

Obama’s Oold seat up for grabs…

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — From a tiny booth at a festival here, a radio station host gave Representative Mark Steven Kirk, the Republican candidate for Senate, a moment to make his pitch between plugs for free massages and the corn dogs being sold a few booths away.

“I’m the candidate who wants to spend less, borrow less, tax less” was all Mr. Kirk had time to blurt out. (more…)

In Arizona, Corn, One-Liners and Politics on the Side

CHINO VALLEY, Ariz. — The hugely popular Corn Dinner here is in its 64th year, and Carrie Zambrano, as the organizer, sends out invitations to political candidates far and wide offering them the opportunity to serve. Party label means not a thing to her with 6,000 cobs to sling in one night. (more…)

Ross: Something To Think About

Posted By The Publisher on September 6, 2010

“A man’s country is not a certain area of land, of mountains, rivers, and woods, but it is a principle; and patriotism is loyalty to that principle.” – George William Curtis

Sometimes when I write I have a clear cut idea as to what I am going to write about. Other times I just begin with a thought and go from there. This time, as I sit here, I have no idea what I am about to say, nor how to say it. I feel as though I am being bombarded by a wide range of emotions. I feel fear, sadness, a hint of depression. But most of all, I feel this overwhelming sense of anger. (more…)

There Must Be Something Seriously Wrong With Me

A Satire by Neal Ross

When I am at work, the job I do does not really require a great deal of thought. My mind, therefore, is often free to ponder upon all manner of things. Often I spend much of my time coming up with new ideas for articles. Today was no different, until suddenly I had an epiphany, ( a sudden intuitive leap of understanding) . It was as if a thousand watt light bulb suddenly went on in my head, and I realized that I have been wrong about almost everything. (more…)

Hirschhorn: Why Americans Elect Awful Presidents

Posted By The Publisher on September 3, 2010

For years I muttered mentally to myself about the insanity of Americans electing George W. Bush president. Now I go through the same agony about the craziness of the nation electing Barack Obama president. As much as I thought Bush was a manipulated second-rate politician that carried out the terribly destructive policies pushed by Cheney and other conservative corporate shills, now I feel equally angry that so many voters fell for the slick rhetoric and lies of Obama. Disgust produces public thirst for change and Obama was wickedly brilliant at selling change. When voters are so easily victimized what does democracy amount to? (more…)

Baroud: Behind the Israeli Wall: A Lesson in Reality

Posted By The Publisher on September 2, 2010

Writers often romanticize their subjects. At times they even manipulate their readers. A book – or any piece of writing for that matter – is meant to provide a sense of completion. Sociological explanations are offered to offset the confusion caused by apparent inconsistency in human behavior. At times a reader is asked to take a stance, or choose sides. (more…)

Ross: Guilty As Charged

“All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” -  Thomas Jefferson

I have to admit, I’m a little bit confused. There is something about people that I just can’t seem to come to terms with. Maybe if I explain what confuses me, you can help me figure it out. So how about I start out by giving you a few imaginary scenarios to consider.

To begin with, imagine if you invited someone to live in your home, and all this person did was make a mess, steal from you, and invade your privacy. I am pretty sure that if you found yourself in that type situation you would do something about it, wouldn’t you? (more…)
