Well y’all have done it, y’all have pushed me past the point where I no longer care if what I say insults or offends you. I’m tired of dealing with those who refuse to deal solely with facts; instead relying upon emotions to support their belief system. My friend Michael Gaddy is fond of saying, “You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken shit”, which I take to mean that no matter how hard you try, you can’t make a stupid person smart.
Looking back on things I think that in the back of my mind I knew that eventually this day was going to come. I think I realized that there would come a time when I became so frustrated with people that I simply gave up any hope that they would have some sort of epiphany and see the truth that has been staring them in the face for most of their lives; the America which was based upon the principles of freedom and liberty is dead and it ain’t coming back.
People, and while this primarily applies to those who affiliate themselves with the liberal left, it also applies to those who prance about as faux conservatives, do not seem to realize that you cannot fix what is wrong in this country with the same mindset that brought these problems on in the first place. Or, as Albert Einstein said, “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”
Too many people today look to treat the symptoms of our nation’s problems without ever stopping to think about what caused them in the first place. Take terrorism for instance, we are now fighting, and have been for 16 yrs, a War against Terror. Yet how many people expect our government to keep them safe from these terrorists, while refusing to admit to themselves who and what the problem really is?
Islam is the problem, not the people who strap on suicide vests and walk into a crowd and blow themselves up. Yes, it is true that not all Muslims are terrorists, but it true that 99.9% of the terrorists are Muslim. Islam, by its very nature, breeds radicals and intolerance. These radicals believe themselves to be justified in using whatever means they can to bring about their goal of converting or killing all those who do not share their faith. It’s that simple.
However, like I said, not all Muslims are terrorists, but the problem lies in the fact that those who aren’t do not attempt to root out those who are; and therefore terrorism grows amidst Islam like a cancer and its effects are felt wherever Islam spreads. Just look at the problems countries with huge Muslim populations are now suffering from and you’ll get some sort of an idea of what is in store for America if we don’t stop focusing on the symptoms and turn our attention to the real cause of terrorism.
It does not help matters any that our government has, and continues to meddle in the affairs of sovereign nations with predominantly Muslim populations, Doing that is about as smart as taking a water hose to a beehive; of course they will sting you. Unfortunately, these predominantly Muslim countries have something Americans want and need…OIL. But you certainly don’t move a beehive into your living room, do you? But these liberal minded Social Justice Warriors have this misguided belief that we can peacefully coexist alongside these people. Well, one of these days they will learn the hard way that you CAN’T.
In the meantime, all those who think that you can ought to put their money where their mouth is and invite an Islamic family to come live in their home. I wonder how long it will be before they start singing a different tune about how we can exist peacefully side by side. The same could be said about all those who support open borders and allowing every poor illegal immigrant the chance to come live the American Dream; why don’t they invite a few of these poor souls to come live in their house and see what they are inviting into our country. Let them pay for their food, clothing, and medical expenses; and while we’re at it, let them accept financial responsibility for any criminal acts committed by them while living under their roof. I’d be willing to bet that they changed their tune real quick if they had to do that.
But this isn’t about terrorism or illegal aliens; it is about a gradual and continuous degradation of the principles upon which this country was founded. People keep telling me, especially younger ones, that my generation had our chance, now it’s their turn. They tell me that my generation screwed things up, so now it’s their turn to try and fix them. Well, you don’t keep driving a bus towards a cliff once you realize it’s heading towards that cliff. Common sense would dictate that you turn the bus around; but not these people; they want MORE of the same type programs and solutions which caused the problems in the first place.
That’s fine if you want to end up in a country with a system of government that is completely socialist in nature; but if you want to live in a country which optimizes your freedom, then you better think twice before you do something that cannot be undone without great sacrifice and loss of life.
Freedom and liberty may not mean that much to you, but they mean everything to me. I feel as if I am watching liberty slowly die right before my eyes, and there is nothing I can do to keep it alive. Historian Charles A. Beard once said, “You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence.” You may find that quote to be a bit far-fetched and extreme; but let me provide you with something that proves it isn’t as extreme as you may have thought.
As y’all know, I write a lot of articles, and I mean A LOT of them. In them I often use the words of our Founders to support my position. What you may not know is that I print out copies of these articles and bring them to work for people to read. Well, the other day I went to work and found a copy of my last article with notes scribbled all over it. One of the notations said, “Y’all missed the train. TOO LATE. You are now crybaby terrorists to the public. Sorry.”
These people believe that we are the problem, and that since we are old we should just shut up and let the younger generation take over. Well, I wonder how far they are willing to go to support their Utopian beliefs of a country which takes care of all those in need? I wonder if they would be willing to let us ‘old folks’ just retire and hand over control to the youth of this country, IF they support us and provide all the things we want and need for the remainder of our natural lives. I’m betting that wouldn’t go over too well with them; the idea that they have to work to provide for all the needs of an entire class of people. Well, just imagine how WE feel assholes!
Anyway, that is the mindset of the enemy America faces; that anyone who adheres to the principles of freedom, self reliance, limited government, and maximum liberty is a terrorist and a danger to society. While they may consider us terrorists, we consider them a cancer which is eating away at the principle of freedom and individual liberty that this country was founded upon.
These people blame my generation for the problems this country faces, but my generation is not solely to blame. This cancer has been metastasizing in America for a very long time; since our system of government was enacted to be exact.
In a letter written after he had retired from public service, Thomas Jefferson stated, “…it is a law of nature that the generations of men should give way, one to another, and I hope that the one now on the stage will preserve for their sons the political blessings delivered into their hands by their fathers. time indeed changes manners and notions, and so far we must expect institutions to bend to them. but time produces also corruption of principles, and against this it is the duty of good citizens to be ever on the watch, and if the gangrene is to prevail at last, let the day be kept off as long as possible. we see already germs of this, as might be expected. but we are not the less bound to press against them. the multiplication of public offices, increase of expence beyond income, growth and entailment of a public debt, are indications solliciting the employment of the pruning, knife…“
Remember, that was written in 1821, which was 196 years ago, and just 40 yrs before the Civil War; which was actually America’s second war for independence. Yet now, not only are the thoughts of our founders considered dangerous and subversive, the statues and monuments dedicated to those who fought to exercise those same principles during the Civil War have come under attack. In fact, I read just yesterday that the Southern Poverty Law Center wants to close down three US Army bases; Fort Hood, Fort Bragg and Fort Benning; all because they are named after Confederate officers and ‘may’ incite violence and hatred. Excuse me, but does the SPCL need a flashlight; because obviously they have their head so far up their ass that they can’t see how stupid what they are saying is.
Those who have worked tirelessly to push forth their Marxist agendas, and strove valiantly to deprive the people of this country of their liberty have had a pretty easy go of it so far. But do not take our passiveness for apathy; that would be foolish and unwise. There will come a time when you push us too far, and when we push back I hope to God that you are prepared to stand for your principles with your lives; because if you don’t stop pushing, it WILL come to that.
So please, do not make us go all Popeye on your asses. And that advice comes at no cost to you…unlike what your vision for the future of this country will end up costing us. So don’t push your luck, you may regret having done so if you do.
