It’s a goddamned disgrace…
As one who spent four and one-half years in the U.S. Army during the 1960′s (YEAH I was one of those baby-killers, as the media called us), and nearly 21 months “in-country) – this kind of crap should have been long over with. It matters not hear, who these guys are REALLY fighting for – they do not deserve this kind of treatment.

If you think this is an isolated case, you have not done your homework. If you think the VA gives a dam about answering allegations, you havn’t realized that Congress and the Senate do not care to enforce their oversight rights. You likely do not realize that the President is the boss of the executive branch and therefore makes him directly responsible for the disgrace that the VA is. But then to be fair, EVERY president since WWII has been responsible for perpetuating this condition. As a disabled Veteran, and a former VA employee forced into disability retirement (and no EEO and EEOC did not care), I know ALL too well that the marching orders in the VA is, perpetuate the old boys school, the Vets do not matter, only the numbers, which by the way, they do not report accurately, if at all. The Congress should shut down the VA and contract it out, with a new SMALL department as an oversight for these contracts. At least our Veterans would get the quality of medical treatment they deserve. Just ask Canada what they did, they are taking care of business in a similar manner, and by the way, that includes taking care of our own veterans who were smart enough to realize they could get better care living there. (And we are paying Canada to do so cart-blanch). Our only hope is, if the Veterans in Congress and the Senate will stand up and be counted, otherwise, they are killing the very people who raised a hand to protect this country and are no better than the current state of the VA.
It all makes sense if you being to understand who is running our government today. We have had “Red Ronny” (I have heard some interesting sexual stories about him and other men in Hollywood as well.), the Bush crime family 2 times (Drug runners, murderers [including JFK, attempted murder on Reagan], etc.), the Clinton murder machine (from Ron Brown, Vince Foster, Mena (Arkansas), etc.), and now we have a KENYAN BORN Communist in the White House whose mentor is none other than Frank Marshall Davis, known communists with FBI file 47544. If you take all this into consideration, it isn’t hard to understand why these people hate the military/USA. The sad thing is that many in the military look up to them still!

Thanks Jeff for the articles on Veterans which is always appreciated. One of my major pet peeves has always been the medical treatment of returning D.A.V.s dating to the Nam Era. On military retirement, as I reported on Veteran’s day 2011, it was politics as usual in D.C. Send the nation’s finest to war, expect outstanding career leaders and cut benefits. God Bless all our veterans from the greatest generation in WW II to the present. Semper Fi et all.

I wish you had added something about the four dead and 17 injured DAVs (including some dependents) ran over by a train in Midland Tx (remember “W’s”home town?). They were on a parade float showing support for a Heroes’ for Hunters’ program. The police are blaming everybody but themselves. This parade had an escort of one cop,and he stayed way behind the rear of the procession. There is not enough room here to put in the details, but its damned hard to control traffic and block off intersections and STOP the parade from the damned REAR…Jeff, you’ve got the writeup on this I sent you yesterday, with links to the San Antonio paper…don’t bother with self proclaimed “progressive” Midland PD adoring newspaper. Anybody says to me “shit happens” is going to find out how pissed off I can get. Enough rhetoric.
