   Did the US government borrow money from the Chinese ?

   Nope so who did ?

   Bernake and his predesesors at the Federal reserve

   So who owes them the money ?

   The fed does

   Who is legally allowed to print money in the US ?
   Congress

   Did Congress borrow moneny from the Chinese — Nope they borrowed it from the Fed which is fine but what they borrowed was paper not legal tender because the fed can’t print legal tender

   So who owes the Chinese and all those other nations ? It couldn’t be the US government since the US government did not issue the loans

   So — who owes ?

   Ben Bernake and the fed

   So when Lindsey Williams says China owns the US — Shouldn’t he say China owns the borrower which would be Bernake and his staff ?
