The other day an acquaintance asked that anyone who is knowledgeable about the Constitution write a commentary regarding something that was said on a webpage regarding the General Welfare Clause of the Constitution. The webpage is named Thinkprogress.org and the article in discussion was in regards to Governor Rick Perry’s lack of understanding of the Constitution.
While I have very little regard for Governor Perry, I have less regard for the person who wrote this particular article, as it seems that they are the one who is lacking in understanding.
THE GOOD
(1) Gov. Perry is definitely pro-life and pro-marriage. Our Texas legislature has just passed one of the strongest sonogram laws in the country and laws that will help to defund Planned Parenthood.
(2) Gov. Perry told Obama that Texas would not participate in the Common Core Standards and Race to the Top which is the Obama administration’s initiative to gain federal control of public-school classrooms in order to implement his social justice agenda, including the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender agenda. We should give Perry big kudos for protecting our Texas public schools from this takeover by the federal government.
~ Forword ~ Rick Perry, who is running for President of the United States, is a self-proclaimed prophet.Perry really is a creature from outer space (the “Republic” of Texas). Personally I believe in the strict separation of church and state for multiple reasons, one of which is to protect religions. Catholicism has learned the hard way to stay out of government and in return government stays out of them. But having been raised in a conservative (and genuine) Christian household I believe any use of religion for political gain is a misuse of religion and therefore blasphemy. And that sin I very much do mind. (R. Blaine)
A little-known movement of radical Christians and self-proclaimed prophets wants to infiltrate government, and Rick Perry might be their man.
On September 28, 2009, at 1:40 p.m., God’s messengers visited Rick Perry.
There is a statement, purportedly coming out of a Czech Republic newspaper a while back, that has been circulating the Internet at significant speed. It seems that many outside our country see us better than we see ourselves. The statement, more or less, goes something like this:
“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president.“
“The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.“
So who is this “citizenry” capable of entrusting a man like Obama with the Presidency?
As bad as the present financial crisis is, how much worse would it be if the enemies of the United States of America, emboldened by a smaller Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, decided that they could engage in military aggression against their neighbors with impunity? Or worse.
Has market turmoil left you feeling afraid? Well, it should. Clearly, the economic crisis that began in 2008 is by no means over.
But there’s another emotion you should feel: anger. For what we’re seeing now is what happens when influential people exploit a crisis rather than try to solve it.
A 30-minute documentary on illegal border crossings in Arizona brought more than 100 people to the Statesville Civic Center Sunday afternoon. The documentary was produced by a group from Tea Party Patriots, including Iredell County Commissioner Renee Griffith. The documentary was shot in July in Cochise County, Ariz., and was produced to highlight the problems some Arizona residents say they are dealing with in terms of illegal immigration, she said.
