“Moral courage is the courage of one’s convictions, the courage to see things through. The world is in a constant conspiracy against the brave. It’s the age old struggle – the roar of the crowd on one side and the voice of your conscience on the other.” – Douglas MacArthur
America has become a “band aid” society. Daily we are bombarded with a vast litany of social ills. Some are critical, some are serious and some are just worrisome. Our country has been invaded by a vast army of people from other countries. They are here illegallythey are costing enormous amounts of money to provide health care, housing and education. I need not belabor the problem.
I often wonder if our neighbors to the South would be so patient, so understanding and so eager to resolve the problems created by this massive influx if the situation were reversed. This is a worrisome problem to most Americans. Our taxes increase, our wages decrease, unemployment in some sectors rises.
I don’t know Peter Gadiel, and he apparently knows absolutely nothing about me. But that hasn’t stopped him from attacking me in a recent article (Influential Conservative is Dangerously Wrong on E-Verify). His article makes some outrageous statements about me, even to presume he can tell you what motives are in my head when I take a position.

ere is my take on what could happen if hyper-inflation takes over. Currently we have inflation. This is the inflation that the gubment says is not there. They keep telling there is no inflation because if they admitted that inflation is occurring, they would have to give social security recipients a raise. Thus, each month they only use items that do not go up in price in their market basket. Food is not included unless by some chance it take a dip price. I guess that food is one of the non-essentials. Fuels i.e. gasoline, LP, oil, etc. are not included unless they go down in price. When fuels go down we are always told that due to these fuel prices inflation is non-existent. When fuel prices go up, we are told that excluding the cost of food and fuel the cost of living is down. I do not really know what world the gubment thinks we live in. We need food and we need fuel. The fuel is needed both for heat and for transportation.
I am sure that at some point in your lives you have seen a movie where man creates something the ends up getting out of hand and causing more problems than anticipated. The movie Frankenstein comes to mind, as does the Terminator and Matrix movies where man created computer systems with artificial intelligence, which then rebelled against the human race with unintended consequences.
Our nation’s Declaration of Independence states that “…Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…” No matter what they tell you, or what you may think, those people sitting in our nation’s capital are our servants, they are accountable to us for their actions.
Yet we the people, whether because of apathy or ignorance, have allowed our government to become this monstrous entity that now taxes and regulates us, while infringing upon our inherent God-given rights.
In his Saturday radio address, the Usurper in Chief said: “members of congress should put country before politics, set aside their differences and find ways to get people back to work.”
You haven’t done it in two and a half years!!!
I wonder if the narcissistic jackass has mentioned that to Harry Reid and the rest of the Democrats.
Obama’s Secretary of Agriculture thinks food stamps are an “economic stimulus”! I can’t think of a sadder or more realistic commentary on the Obama Administration’s clueless approach to economics. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack says that each dollar of food stamp spending generates $1.84 worth of economic activity out there in the “great economic beyond” that he apparently never saw in his legal career.
If food stamps were such an economic stimulus, why haven’t we put everyone on food stamps and made ourselves all filthy rich with the profits? But that would be ludicrous, wouldn’t it? Even Obama wouldn’t pretend that far.
The only time I feel really safe is when the Congress and the President are recessed and/or out of town. That is not an original statement. Someone said it long before I — and that makes it even weightier, or lends it more gravitas, if you please.
I have heard it asked so many times in the past few days whether the President should be taking a vacation at this particular time. To that I answer… YES! Get him the heck away from Washington and keep him away as long as possible!
NOTE: American workers are being told THEY are the reason for the debt problem somehow because through some magic unions create debt (via good wages??). Confused about that one? Everyone is. You are not supposed to make sense of political reasons, you are just supposed to believe it.
Default was the best option. The shameful and dangerous debt ceiling deal passed into law yesterday made that clear. It is rooted in the grand bargain that the political class made in 2008: to save Wall Street and allow those in the rest of America to drown Katrina style. The plan will suck money out of a shattered economy that can ill afford it and demand sacrifice from frayed and threadbare communities that will likely not be able to endure what’s been asked. Yet, it will allow the wealthiest Americans to get off Scott free and – here’s the kicker – profit from the misery that the plan exacerbates.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way. In 2008, Democrats were elected with the largest electoral majorities in two generations. The president may think that he was elected to change the tone in Washington, but the electorate sent him there to change direction. The American people wanted him to reorient the political culture away from advocating for the extremely wealthy few over the many.
Federal agents in San Diego broke up a drug trafficking ring involving Iraqi immigrants who worked with one of Mexico’s biggest drug cartel.
Approximately 60 Iraqi immigrants were rounded up and arrested just east of San Diego after the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) completed a six-month investigation. The DEA Agents also collected drugs, grenades, assault weapons and homemade explosives.
