Allow Me To Introduce Myself (A Resume of Sorts)

“Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn’t there? ” – The Character V from the film V for Vendetta

Hello, some of you may know me; some of you may not, so allow me to introduce myself formally. My name is Neal Ross, not NEAL ROSS, no matter what the ID cards in my wallet may say. Neal is my given name and Ross is my surname. I AM NOT a piece of property belonging to the corporate entity that is the United States of America…I am an individual with all the inherent rights and privileges associated with being an individual. I believe that I do not need permission, i.e. a permit, to exercise these rights as that would imply that they are but merely a privilege to be taken away at the whim of some bureaucrat.

I am a writer on non-politically correct missives and commentaries about the state of affairs in this nation. I believe, to quote from the movie V for Vendetta, that “Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn’t there?

Some have called me a patriot, a modern day Samuel Adams, and not the guy who brews that beer! What defines a patriot? Is patriotism blind obedience and support for their government? I think not. Is a patriot one who blindly supports any and all military conflicts their nation is involved in? Once again, I think not. I think patriotism is remaining true to the principles upon which this country was founded. If that be the true definition, then I am guilty as charged…and damned proud of it!

I believe that those people in Washington D.C., the ones you call your government, are in fact a cabal of corrupt men and women who no longer even pretend to uphold their sacred oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. It is my belief also that if there is indeed any justice in life that they will spend eternity in the fires of hell for the crimes they have committed against humanity and the people they were supposed to represent.

Getting back to that quote from V for Vendetta for a moment, I believe that words are important, they can enlighten the truth, or they can be used to obfuscate it. You see the truth is something that should be sought after, something to be cherished. Instead the truth has become something that is denigrated and disregarded by the average American citizen.

But you see, for the truth to be of any importance it must have an audience, someone to receive the message. What good would a radio transmitter be if there were no radios to receive the signals they broadcast? Therefore, for my message to get through I need people to read the things I write. But it is not only reading them that I need for me to be effective, I need people who are willing to take the red pill, open their minds to the possibility that everything that they have believed up until now has been a lie. Anyone who is so firmly entrenched in their belief system that they blame all our nation’s problems upon the liberals, or the conservatives, has too closed a mind for my message to get through. You see, it is not about right versus left, conservative versus liberal. It is about liberty versus tyranny and oppression. If you can’t see that, then the things that I write about will be rejected by closed minds.

In my missives I often use the words stupid, ignorant, and apathetic, and I am often criticized for doing so. As I consider myself akin to an artist who uses words to create an image, let us examine the meaning of these words. Stupid is defined as slow of mind; lacking intelligence or reason, given to unintelligent decisions or acts. Ignorant is defined as destitute of knowledge or education. Right there you see the difference, one implies being unable to learn, while the other implies not having learned…big difference! Now to apathy, this is defined as a lack of interest or concern: indifference.

It is my opinion that the most foolish person in the world is the one who blindly accepts what they are told by someone else without researching the truth for themselves. I do not care if the person speaking is the President of the United States, your Congressman, your favorite news anchor, or even me, you should verify what you are being told for yourself. If you don’t, you are a fool, and fools are easily misled by lies and misinformation.

I believe that, no matter who the next president is, our nation does not have much longer to survive as a free republic. I believe that it is way past the time when anything we do at the ballot box has any chance of restoring our republic, or reclaiming or liberties lost. I am not espousing that we should take arms and begin committing random acts of violence against our government; however I am fully prepared to use deadly force to defend my life, my family, my property, and my remaining rights…if necessary.

I believe that if we are to save this country from ruin it must come from the people themselves. The people must stop believing that one candidate can change the world and start taking a bit of responsibility for changing it themselves. I know I will piss a lot of Ron Paul supporters off with that, but let me ask you a question; What do you intend to do should Ron Paul not win? How many more unconstitutional laws, infringements of your rights, uncalled for wars and invasions will it take before YOU say that you will not stand for any more?

Thomas Jefferson once said, “…that whensoever the General Government assumes undelegated powers, its acts are unauthoritative, void, and of no force. . . . that the government created by this compact [the Constitution for the United States] was not made the exclusive or final judge of the extent of the powers delegated to itself…” It is upon that principle that the revolution, if there is to be one, must rest. Enough people, and I mean millions and millions of them, must simply stop obeying these unconstitutional acts. We must reassert our authority and let them know that they have crossed the line and we will not tolerate it any longer.

Take for example the unconstitutional searches we are subjected to prior to boarding an airplane. We can’t all just swarm the plane, bypassing these searches, as that would be unreasonable. But, if we cared enough about our rights we COULD stop flying altogether…say that this is bullshit and I am not going to place myself into the position to have my rights infringed upon. If enough people did that, if the airlines suddenly lost a huge chunk of their income, they would put pressure on the government to halt those searches and we would have won a battle.

Say you don’t agree with the idea that your taxes should be used to subsidize the income of others in the form of food stamps and WIC coupons. You can’t stop the government from issuing them, but if you are the owner of a supermarket you CAN refuse to accept them. If enough managers did this then the food stamps would become of no use as they would not be accepted anywhere.

Our country can be won back, but it must be done on a massive scale, a scale unlike any political rally and protest we have ever seen before. But it would also mean that each and every person who values their rights and is concerned for the future of this nation, participate, no matter the consequences.

What has happened to this country could not have happened without our consent as we the people hold the ultimate power and those in D.C. were merely there to serve and represent us within the limitations imposed upon them by the Constitution. Our apathy, our ignorance is what has allowed our nation to come to this point, and we are all ultimately to blame. Could a nation which understood the intent of the Constitution allowed their government to overstep it to such an extent that it has basically become mere window dressing?

We have become soft, a nation of people who believe that we are entitled to all kinds of amenities, which are provided at the expense of others who work and pay taxes. We have allowed multiculturalism to deny us our national heritage with the belief that we should not demand that immigrants to this country abide by our laws, and respect our cultural beliefs. We have allowed political correctness to stifle free speech and condemn those who are not afraid to speak what is on their minds. We no longer are a nation which believes that we are entitled to only the things that we can provide for ourselves by the sweat of our own brows.

Finally, and most importantly, God has been banished from our lives, our schools, and our hearts. The belief that anything goes in the name of self-expression and tolerance now causes us to accept things that go against the will of The Almighty. How many unborn children are slaughtered annually simply because having a baby is inconvenient? How urgent is the push for us to believe that homosexuality is not a sin, it is merely an alternative lifestyle? We ask for God to bless this country, yet we ignore His desire for us to obey His Law. As Thomas Jefferson once said, “I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.

I believe that the time is coming that our government will no longer be able to take care of us from cradle to grave, that their uncontrolled spending and mismanagement of our nation’s affairs will lead to an economic implosion of the magnitude that will dwarf the Great Depression. I believe that unless people are prepared for what’s coming, in terms of having food, gold and silver, guns and ammo, and more importantly a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ that they will not be prepared for what lies ahead.

This is what I believe, it is who I am, and it is what I have been trying to get across to people for quite some time now. It is also why I have been criticized, have lost friends, and am probably on a half dozen or so government watch lists.

Yet I do not fear these things no more than I fear the truth. As Patrick Henry once said, “Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

No matter how hard you try, you cannot hide from the truth. You can hide behind the fog of a TV screen, you can numb your mind with alcohol and illegal drugs, but the truth will still be there, waiting for you. What I truly fear for are for those who, when the truth hits them, they will not be ready, and able, to handle it.

Lute-I may be delivering the mail, but in many instances I’m delivering it to houses where the lights are on but nobody’s home.

Dave-Thanks for the comments. I have been told by other readers that I should try to run for office. NO WAY! I have a paralyzing fear of public speaking. I was asked to give a five minute speech in a church once…passed at as soon as I got to the pulpit. Same thing happened in NCO leadership school in the air force…TWICE.

I don’t know what it is, but as soon as I get in front of people and see those faces looking at me, my mind goes blank, my eyes white out, and down I go…

  2. Luther says:

Neal, God is counseled by many on what He should do. It’s actually the other way around. Few there be that know the mind of God, and even fewer who begin to care! Remember, we are not a theocracy – we are a Constitutional Republic. Why should we law-abiding citizens endure the wrath of God because our elected leaders are corrupt and implement horrendous requirements upon us? The Bible says the rain falls on the just and the unjust! That is sometimes good, and sometimes bad: Ask the victims of hurricane Irene! Perhaps natural phenomenon are His way of sending a clarion call for repentance. It could just be that those with “spiritual ears” will hear and comply; the others will continue on into the morass of ignomy! How do we awaken the masses? One way is through your timely missives. So, fear not good fellow; you’re on the right path and carrying the important mail – may they all read it!

Neal – I posted this on one of your earlier commentaries (Have we created a monster, etc.) but it was much to late for you to have probably seen it, so here it is again in case you missed it:

We, the people of this once great nation, are faced with a conundrum insofar as our national leadership is concerned. We all know that our politicians are useless, brainless, corrupt, power hungry, lying and cheating morons who don’t deserve to be told what time it is, let alone be given control over the clock. Everyone who runs for office either is, or becomes, or is perceived as a politician, therefore rendering every one of them useless, brainless, corrupt, power hungry, lying and cheating and totally unworthy of our vote, much less a leadership position in our government or society in general.

Neal, I admire you tremendously. You have been a voice crying in the wilderness for as long as I have been reading your commentaries, which has been for quite a while. I don’t remember how or when I stumbled upon you, but I have been, probably unknown to you, one of your most avid fans, seeing in your writing a mirror of what I wish I could say as eloquently as you say it. That said, what do you think would happen if you were to announce your candidacy for a vacant Congressional seat, or the Presidency, or even your city council?

With many – probably the majority – you would first have to contend with the lack of name recognition, possibly and probably even locally. You would have to deal with the regulatory bullshit governing your run for office, whatever office that might be; proper use of campaign funds, raising money to conduct the campaign, scheduling speeches, obtaining the necessary permits for a political or fund-raising rally or other event, deciding which party you would be running under (I know, you would want to run as an Independent, if anything, but We, the people, have become so indoctrinated, so conditioned, so mindless, and so apathetic that we would give you the same chance as an Independent as we give everyone else who runs as an Independent without name recognition, and kind of just skim over your name looking for the Republican or Democrat candidate). I think you know what I’m talking about here, and what I’ve listed above is just the tip of the iceberg. At the end of the day, it just winds up “Neal Ross? Oh, he’s just another politician who talks a great line, but they’re all alike. They’ll say and do anything to get elected. Look at what we’ve got right now. What’s to expect he’s any different?”

It’s distressing to say, heart breaking to realize, and frightening to mention in any forum, but what we need in this country is a revolution – a real revolution – that will be recognized by those in power as a revolution, and cause them fear and looking for a means of escaping before the revolution reaches them. I’ve thought about this a lot, and no matter how hard I try, I can’t find any other solution to the problem. I can’t find any other way to get back to the Constitution. This country is so diverse in every conceivable way, and so divided in every conceivable issue, that next to revolution, the only other answer is a breakup and re-organization of the government under the original document, in a smaller and more effectively administered group of states and population, and even then there are going to be problems. I don’t have answers. God knows, I wish I did. But in reality, I think we are dug in so deep that there is no real satisfactory solution without some form of what would be considered bullying into it, and then there would be the criticism that the methods by which the “new Republic” were achieved were not in keeping with the goal. There would be nothing I would like more than to be able to sit down with you and discuss this stuff face to face. Alas, you’re in the closest thing to a communist state and I’m in a state right next to you (Arizona) which has, unfortunately, been infiltrated by fellow travelers and secret agents from California. If you ever come to Arizona, I’d love for you to get in touch with me so we could meet. Maybe that’s the kind of thing necessary to reach a solution. If the readers and writers of this website could get together and frankly discuss the issues and possible means of solving them, it could turn things around – in time of course.

In the meantime, keep writing, keep bitching, keep up the pressure, whatever pressure there might be, and keep the faith, literally. God knows who’s who and what’s what. He is always faithful. And when things get you down and you feel like you’re beating your head against the wall, remember the last two lines of Psalm 46: “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.”

    That’s His promise.

That was submitted just a couple days ago on your previous commentary. I would add today that what you have said in this is precisely what I have thought for well over a year or so. Individual action is fine, but in vain. There is no problem when the individual can be taken into custody for what amounts to civil disobedience, but to attempt such action on millions? Not possible, not reasonable, not going to happen. I have also thought that the best way to kill the beast is to starve it to death. The beast thrives, survives, and depends on the one commodity that we, the people in this country, really do have control over: money. What would the beast do, how would it continue to function if the money stopped? This government is totally dependent on our taxes. It relies on and survives on the money being fed into it every single month as it bites into the paychecks of those who are fortunate enough to still have a job or be working and “obeying the law.” The fact that the Constitution specifically states, in Article 1, Section 9, that “No Capitation, or other direct, Tax shall be laid,” renders the 16th Amendment unconstitutional (since you can’t change the basic document, only amend it to enhance its strength) the people of this country have been brainwashed and coerced and forced into paying illegal and unconstitutional taxes for over 98 years.

Insisting that no more payroll taxes would be taken out of our paychecks, or changing the withholding on the W-4, claiming the maximum exemptions possible, and thereby cutting off the fuel that feeds the beast would, I would be willing to bet, bring the beast to its knees in no time flat. Cut off its life’s blood, our money, and the organism will die. Such is exactly what Thomas Jefferson meant by his statement as quoted in your commentary.

But the problem, as presented in your commentary, remains: It takes millions and millions, in concert, of one mind and purpose, with the courage and will to do it.

And I don’t think the American people, as a whole, have either anymore.

    God bless you Neal Ross.
