The celebration of the Nation’s birthday sometimes gets people confused. This day is much more than another holiday from work. It is a recognition of who we are as a People. What it is not is a saint’s day for a Government. When the Nation and the Government are spoken in the same breath, most believe they are interchangeable. That seems to be Clowntown D.C.’s favorite buzz-word, but that bag of slithering snakes in the House and the Senate have yet to give us any meaningful definition of that word.
On June 22, 2011 President Obama made one of the most profound statements since taking office. While making a speech in the White House telling the American people about his commitment to protect the Homeland against what he called “the cancer of violent extremism” he said, and I quote, “for let there be no doubt that so long as I am President, the United States will never tolerate a safe haven for those who aim to kill us; they cannot elude us nor escape the justice they deserve.” Bravo – that’s the kind of tough talk I like coming out of the man whom I am suppose to look up to and revere as my leader. Too bad it’s not the truth! 
This weekend we are hearing a lot about FREEDOM and LIBERTY. Many speeches shall be made and columns written about the *Founding Fathers* and the Patriots who gave their lives so that we may live in FREEDOM and LIBERTY in America. Many columns will be written quoting the *Founding Fathers*.

I know that folks have parties to plan; beer to get on ice and steaks to marinade, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. As we all know, Monday is the Fourth of July. How many of you are going to even take a moment to think about what this holiday is all about? Or are you all going to just enjoy the day off, barbecue, drink beer, or go out and get 25% off a new appliance at the nearest big box store?

I responded with, “and who told you that”. He started to say “Mrs. Clint….” but then trailed off as if he had just let the cat out of the bag. Mrs. Clinton, General Clinton’s wife, was somewhat aware of my comings and goings as a British general and so it is quite possible she mislead Andre’, since there was no way she could have known I was going to return early, after accepting General Washington’s assignment.
