Hitler could not have terrorized the world that resulted in the deaths of millions of people, without the willing participation and adoration of the German people. A president in America cannot become president without the vote of the majority of the people. A hero will not be recognized as a hero without a large number of people acknowledging his acts of heroism. It is the people who grant power and status to others, or those that lead them.
At a recent checkup my physician told me that I am suffering from an often overlooked and misdiagnosed ailment; overexposure to stupidity. The symptoms of overexposure to stupidity are: headaches, muscle fatigue, frequent insomnia, sudden fits of anger, and an uncontrollable urge to slap people.
My physician explained that stupidity is like a toxin and when you are repeatedly exposed to it, even in small doses, it accumulates in your body until you begin showing the symptoms of overexposure.
If you happen to be a Palestinian government employee, chances are you will receive only half your usual salary this month. The other half will only be available when international donors find it in their hearts to make up for the huge shortage of funds currently facing the Palestinian Authority (PA).
With a deficit standing at around $640 million, the PA government of Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad is experiencing one of its worst ever financial crises. However, the Palestinian economy is not a real economy by universally recognized standards. It survives largely on handouts by donor countries. These funds have spared Israel much of its financial responsibility as an occupying power under the stipulations of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

For almost the entire existence of the American Republic, courts have tried to put a price on a life that was snuffed out early, or rendered permanently disabled, due to the negligence or criminal act of another. In some cases, it is merely a matter of arithmetic ….. how much was the person earning at the time of his death or disability, then multiplied times the life expectancy of that person. From those two components a dollar figure is computed.
Unfortunately, the dollar figure does not account for unexpected events in the deceased or disabled person’s life that could increase that dollar figure by many factors, such as an invention, or a new job with greater potential, or winning the lottery, or an unexpected inheritance, much less inflation.
Like facing a hurricane, America now faces the reauthorization of a powerful and destructive feminist-made disaster tearing through the lives of children, fathers, families and the nation’s formerly bedrock institution of marriage. The reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) begins on July 13, 2011. Now is the time to engage in disaster mitigation to either defund VAWA or to redirect it to serve equally the other half of domestic violence victims – men.

Can you imagine being trapped inside your home country, unable to leave? It may be closer to a reality than you realize. I’ll tell you a quick story to explain.
This weekend I rented a car in Bulgaria with the aim of driving through Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, and eventually into Greece. Now, I’m no virgin to land border crossings in the developing world and understand the corruption and incompetence that typifies customs checkpoints. But this weekend’s experience was much more.
The rush is on to force into law mandatory use of the E-Verify system that will mandate that all businesses use this hand-me-down from the Social Security Administration in order to hire anyone. Republican Representative Lamar Smith has introduced HR 2164 and House action is expected at any time. Say proponents, E-Verify is necessary to stop illegals from getting jobs. Many freedom-loving Conservatives are supporting the idea in a desperate attempt to control illegal immigration. Is this the right way to protect America?

While we celebrated the Fourth of July, let’s keep in mind that the first Americans won their independence from England with the force of arms. It was, in fact, a British effort in 1775 to confiscate military arms they believed were stored in Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts that sparked the war.
The Founding Fathers were so aware of the need for an armed citizenry that, after ensuring freedom of religion, speech, press and the right to peacefully assemble in the First Amendment, the Second guaranteed their right to bear arms.
The Yemeni people are unrelenting in their demands for democracy. Millions continue to stage rallies across their country in a display of will that is proving the most robust out of all the Arab revolutions. The Yemenis face great challenges, however, including the political vacillation of their country’s opposition, and the US’ military and strategic interests in Yemen.
Al Jazeera described Abdul Hameed Abu Hatem as a mere ‘protester’. However, the man’s demands show a purity and genuineness that is consistent with the chants of millions of Yemenis from all over the country.
