Here is another writing to get you to THINK – I don’t know why that simple thing is beyond the ability of so many in America. The public (FED)ucation system has truly done what it was set forth to do – DUMB DOWN the population. Thank God that some didn’t fall for the BS they push in the schools. Some were born to THINK in spite of the indoctrination process.

Notice the question is – WHAT? – not Who!

Nearly a century ago German writer, biologist and physicist Johan Wolfgang von Goethe wrote, “There is nothing more frightful than ignorance in action.” Sometimes I think that he was gazing into the future and watching the American people vote.

Although we have yet to be flooded with the inevitable TV ads for presidential hopefuls, the campaign for the 2012 presidential election is already underway. Barack Obama has already begun to raise funds in his quest for a $2 billion war chest. Sarah Palin is hop-scotching the nation on her tour bus and, although she has yet to declare her intent, it certainly looks like she is at least testing the waters. Mitt Romney has also declared his intent to seek the GOP nomination. So, whether you realize it or not, the race for our next president has already begun.

I find it amazing that people in this country are so easily fooled by these charlatans in their attempt to pass themselves off as more qualified than the other charlatans for the office of president. My God, are people truly that stupid that they continue to fall for the lies over and over again?

People elect a Republican president, or Congress, and come election time people aren’t happy with the direction our country is taking, so they vote for Democrats instead. The next election cycle they switch back to Republicans, never seeing how ridiculous they must appear, flip flopping back and forth between two parties, neither of whom seeming to want to govern according to the Constitution.

The people of this country just don’t get it; the purpose of our government IS NOT to DO THINGS for them. Congress is the ONLY body that has the power to write laws, and there powers are found in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution.

In case you don’t have a copy of the Constitution handy, here are the ONLY powers that Congress has the authority to legislate upon:

• The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

• To borrow Money on the credit of the United States;

• To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

• To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

• To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

• To provide for the Punishment of counterfeiting the Securities and current Coin of the United States;

• To establish Post Offices and post Roads;

• To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

• To constitute Tribunals inferior to the supreme Court;

• To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offences against the Law of Nations;

• To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;

• To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;

• To provide and maintain a Navy;

• To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;

• To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;

• To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

• To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;–And

• To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof

That’s it people, there is nothing else that Congress does that has as its basis, the Constitution. Social Security, nowhere in the Constitution; regulating the amount of water your toilet can use for each flush, nowhere in the Constitution; passing laws that allow government agencies to spy on the citizens of this nation, nowhere in the Constitution.

It may not matter to you that our government has become this monster that invades almost every aspect of your life, but it pisses me off to no end. I do not want their assistance, and more importantly, I do not want to have to pay so that they can assist you!

When people go to the polls to vote, it is almost as if a nation of addicts is going to vote for their favorite drug dealer; we have all become a nation of addicts, addicted to government assistance. Think about it, if you are not happy with your current drug dealer you go find another who will support your habit. If suddenly all drug dealers were to be arrested or killed, would that solve the problem? No, because society abhors a vacuum. As long as there is a need, someone will step up and provide for that need.

If we could manage to vote out of office EVERY SINGLE representative in Congress do you think things would improve in this country? NO, because the people would still retain the same EXPECTATIONS from those they elected that being to take care of them, pass laws to make them safer and more secure.

Samuel Adams was correct in his assessment of people when he said, “Mankind is governed more by their feelings than by reason.” Another founding father, Fischer Ames, once said, “I am commonly opposed to those who modestly assume the rank of champions of liberty, and make a very patriotic noise about the people. It is the stale artifice which has duped the world a thousand times, and yet, though detected, it is still successful.”

These candidates, whose TV ads you are soon to be forced to watch, all hire expert marketing crews to provide you the perfect image of a candidate who truly cares for you, the individual. The ONLY thing these people care about is getting elected. They don’t care about you, and they certainly don’t care about governing according to the limits imposed upon them by the Constitution.

I know that the majority of the people in this country are die hard party followers. They would no sooner change political parties than they would take their own life. Yet our country is on the verge of collapse. Our government continues to grow, and borrow to fund its operations. We CANNOT sustain this for much longer without our nation imploding.

Right now Greece is experiencing massive protests because the people want to know where their money is, where are the benefits and programs promised by their government? I see similar protests in our nation’s future unless people begin to exercise some self-reliance and wean themselves off government assistance.

So, in the upcoming months, as you begin to see the ads for candidates, I want you to ask yourself, what do you intend to vote for. Are you going to be a fool and fall for the same old lies, the same old bullshit we have been told a thousand times before? Or, are you going to, for once in your life, think about what it is that our government was meant to do, and vote for a candidate who will limit their actions to those specifically granted them by the Constitution?

The Republican Party is in disarray, they have their heads so far up their asses that they don’t know what the hell they’re doing. The alternative is four more years of Obama, and I don’t know if our country will survive four more years of that fool.

I really don’t hold out much hope that enough people are going to do what needs to be done to save this county, but I have to try to get them to at least think. So that is why I am writing this now, to get people to think BEFORE they are flooded with ads, by people PROMISING them change. We heard that mantra in 2008 and boy did we get it. Are you going to let yourself get fooled once again?
