Pretend for a moment you are witnessing a fancy ball where all the women are wearing exquisite black dresses. Then in the middle of all these people your eye falls upon a single women wearing a bright yellow dress. She would stand out like a sore thumb, her yellow dress a glaring inconsistency among the black dressed women.

That is similar to the way my brain functions when I read, or hear people say things; inconsistencies stand up and scream at me for their attention. I call it my bullshit meter and the more inconsistent the statement, the higher my meter reads.

U.S. Ignores bin Laden Death Reports, Continues Search

WASHINGTON – Osama bin Laden continues to be the target of an upcoming search by U.S. Marines in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan though a Pakistani newspaper reported Tuesday that the suspected terrorist mastermind is dead. CNN quoted officials as saying Marines would move into the Tora Bora mountains of eastern Afghanistan to search for bin Laden. The U.S. bombing of the area had subsided, they said. Special Forces troops familiar with the area were to accompany the Marines, CNN said. The comments came as the Pakistan Observer newspaper reported that bin Laden died of a serious lung disease in the Tora Bora Mountains earlier this month.

The brutality of Libyan leader Moammar Ghaddafi, and his refusal to concede power, is costing Libya much more than innocent lives. The country is now also facing a possible loss of future independence and sovereignty. From its early days, the Libyan revolt seemed to take a difference course than those of other Arab countries. It represented a window of opportunity for the United States and its western allies to reposition themselves, slowly but surely, around a conflict that promised grueling and bloodier times ahead.

The twenty-four hours following the release of the alleged long form birth certificate of Barack Obama went pretty much as I expected them to. The news media and the faithful followers of the anointed one accepted the document as genuine, and no further mention was made of it. Those who suspect that Obama is not eligible to hold the office of president proceeded to explain why they believe the document to be a forgery.
