EWART: America Has Been Envislam’d!

“Oh sweet, sweet America, if you lose your identity, you lose your soul, your freedom and your sovereignty.” – Ron Ewart

How is America known, let me count the ways. She is known as a benevolent super power. She is characterized by her generous people. She is steeped in individual liberty that manifests itself in unleashed creativity, industriousness and productivity. She builds things instead of tearing them down. She explores the micro and macro universes and expands her collective knowledge, then shares it with the world. Her bountiful agricultural production feeds all of America and a significant portion of other hungry nations. In many cases, she just gives free food away to other countries, out of our magnanimous generosity.

Jensen: Angry and Ashamed

When exiting the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked by a woman, “What kind of government have you given us?” He responded with one of the most famous quotations in history, “A Republic , if you can keep it.

The United States of America, the world’s strongest, bravest, first-of-its-kind, most sought after land of opportunity – the country I love – is changing.

Stover: Why Are Americans Trying to Destroy America?

It’s hard to accept that some Americans actually want to transform the America we know and love into something alien to us, but it seems that way since Obama, Reid, Pelosi (since demoted but still mean and powerful), and their progressive/liberal/Marxist gang members roared into Washington. Their policies and laws drafted in total secrecy (after promises of “transparency”) have made Americans shake their heads in disbelief. How could anyone in our government actually impose those laws and policies on the American people? Their arrogance and disregard for the people they are supposed to serve stunned most of us and helped lead to the Tea Party movement. Why would they shove Obamacare down our throats, for example, when we knew there were better ways to solve the health care problems?

Diaz: I am an American

I attempted to start this essay as a satire- coming from the perspective of a normal every day American…

That didn’t work for me. I sit here, looking pensively at my keyboard, wondering how to structure this message. I have yet to find the right words.

You aren’t going to find a note riddled with facts and statistics here, because I claim myself to be neither a historian, nor a scholar..However, what I am is a human being who is “awake” to the tragedy occurring right before our very eyes, that many feel powerless to stop.

Staying Human: The Heroic Legacy of Vittorio Arrigoni

“Dear Mary,” wrote Italian justice activist Vittorio Arrigoni to a friend. “Do you (know who) will be on the boats?… I’m still in Gaza, waiting for you. I will be at the boat to greet you. Stay human. Vik.”

“Mary” is Mary Hughes Thompson, a dedicated activist who braved the high seas to break the Israeli siege on Gaza in 2008.

The Importance of Easter

By now, there are few people who are not familiar with talk of the “War on Christmas.” The hyperbolic nature of this nomenclature aside, it springs from the observation of two undeniable facts: first, there is a sustained, concerted effort to marginalize, if not eradicate, the religious significance of this most celebrated of Christian — and American — holidays; second, this assault on Christmas belongs to a larger campaign to undermine the influence of Christianity over our popular culture.

(What’s Wrong With Our Country In 300 Words Or Less)

Let’s say you purchase a bicycle that requires assembling. You take it home and decide to put it together yourself without following the manual provided. Once you get it together you take it out for a ride and something doesn’t work properly and you have an accident and get injured. Is it the fault of the company that manufactured the bike, or is it your fault for not following the instruction manual?

The way things are in this country you would probably sue the manufacturer of the bike and end up with a hefty settlement. But in all honesty you would be to blame because you failed to properly follow the instruction manual.

Kouri: Pentagon contradicts Napolitano’s Mexican border assessment

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano’s recent description of a U.S.-Mexico border that’s “as secure as it has ever been” appear to be in direct opposition to a Pentagon assessment.

According to officials at Judicial Watch, a public-interest group that investigates public corruption and fraud, U.S. Defense Department officials believe the border is actually a gateway for Mexican criminal organizations that have infiltrated the entire country and joined forces with terrorist groups.

Cantor: Washington Just Doesn’t Get It

Obama decided after making the deal that kept the government from shutting down, that he would go back on his word and keep the 4 czars that he agreed to get rid of, so it is nakedly apparent his word can’t be trusted any further than you can spit.

Now pour Harry (the curmudgeon in chief) Reid into the mix and it begins to get interesting given his penchant for trying to scare seniors and all.
