I just can’t believe it. After all the lecturing I’ve done on the subject, I still hear people refer to our system of government as a democracy. Folks, for one last time, we are not a democracy, we are a republic. There is a difference, and it is rather substantial.

Do you remember going to school and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance? Think back, can you remember the words? I can, “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands…” (my emphasis added)

They do it by pumping a water, sand and proprietary chemical mixture into rocks under very high pressure, fracturing or “fracking” the formations, and keeping the cracks open, to yield trapped methane.
