Cantor: In Memory of a Drunk

A friend of mine wrote to me concerning a project which is to be funded in part by taxpayer money, “A shrine to the late senator Ted Kennedy.”

As shirl put it “Congress: I protest my tax dollars going to a shrine for a drunk who was a national disgrace!!! Let his family and friends pay for a shrine for him. Funds for this should not come from us taxpayers, we are being forced to pay for something we don’t owe and most of us don’t want.”

Ted Kennedy was no stranger to the odor of pork given the amount of earmark money he was able to squeeze out of the American taxpayers over the decades he was able to buy his seat in the Senate.

The biggest and most important cause Teddy ever banged the drum for was HIMSELF!
Congress is about to sock it to us again in order to partially (at least) fund the Ted Kennedy Shrine to his legacy what the hell ever that is.

The Shrine is being built in Dorchester Massachusetts, but perhaps they should consider erecting it at CHAPPAQUIDICK.

There were three major appropriations for the Kennedy Shrine in the 20009 and 2010 budgets.

In the 2009 budget, $5,813,000.00 was funneled through the Labor Department and the Department of Health and Human Services spending bill.

In the 2010 budget, $18,900,000.00 was funneled through the Defense spending bill.

$13,600,000.00 was funneled through the Labor Department and the Department of Health and Human Services.

These three appropriations add up to $38.3 million dollars so far, and now Senator John Kerry and Congressman Ed Markey, both Democrats from Massachusetts are trying to secure and additional $30 million dollars bringing the grand total of taxpayer money for this project to $68 million dollars, which by the way is half the cost of this project.

Kerry and Markey are both very affluent as are most of their friends as well as the Kennedy family, if they want a shrine let them pay for it, the only thing Teddy ever did was screw the taxpayers blind and then go out and get blind, falling-down drunk.

The newly elected house is expected to vote on the Continuing Resolution the week of February 14th, The Senate must then pass it before March 4th.

If the new congress is looking for ways to trim fat from the federal budget, LET IT BEGIN HERE!!!

Call or E-mail your congressman and your senator and let them know that you want this project defunded, and you might also remind them of what just happened in November to those officials that didn’t listen to the people.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

The assassination of his brother JFK was a tragedy, however “Fatty” has had his snout in the Public trough throughout his life.

I see no reason to glorify him & will resent my taxes being used!

Ted “Bull Frog” Kennedy. He never met a bottle of Scotch or a young girl he didn’t like.
