Apparently I just don’t get it. Years ago, some dumb witch with too much time on her hands launched a hate campaign against the television show, “Married With Children“, and got so many sponsors to stop advertising that the show was pulled. It is now shown as re-runs here and there, and along with, “All In The Family“, it remains one of the funniest series ever written for television.
Yes, Married With Children definitely did cross a lot of former boundaries in terms of subject matter laced with sexual overtones, but it used no foul language, none of the married couples depicted in the show ever committed adultery, and only the teen children were ever depicted as having engaged in sexual behavior from time-to-time, though there was never anything overt in that regard — certainly not like today’s programming.
Then there is the series, Toddlers and Tiaras. No, there are no overt suggestions of sex in the show, but the very young girls portrayed in the show are made-up and dressed provocatively to make them appear much older, sexually astute to the point of appearing sexually available, and definitely an attraction to all those pedophiles out there who can

now leer at the little ladies in the comfort of their very own home. If any television series needs to be eliminated for its potentially harmful content, it is Toddlers and Tiaras, and the unsolved murder of little Jon Benet Ramsey in Boulder Colorado the evening of December 24-25 1996 may have been committed by a pedophile who had seen her perform in child beauty pageants like Toddlers And Tiaras.
“Unhealthy” is the proper term to be used here, but ever since the Supreme Court ruled years ago that freedom of expression is the same as freedom of speech, we’ve been unundated with unhealthy messages that make Married With Children look like, “Leave It To Beaver“.
The source of Toddlers and Tiaras on my satellite feed is TLC – the same source that purchased Sarah Palin’s Alaska.
Let me put it this way: I have absolutely no interest in seeing little girls under the age of ten get dressed up like adults and dancing around — oftentimes in very sexually suggestive ways — and unless you are the proud parent of one of these little girls or a trembling pedophile, you wouldn’t want to watch this kind of show either.
Under no circumstances, especially in today’s Internet environment, should any young girl be depicted in such an unhealthy light, and in my opinion the parents ought to be arrested for child endangerment whether the child is a willing participant or not. Good grief, somebody has to act like an adult when it comes to this kind of exploitation, and if the parents don’t have the brains not to place their child in such a venue, who will stop them? After all, it is protected expression, and any law passed to prohibit this kind of exploitation would probably be found unconstitutional unless the age of the child is made the primary issue in any laws subsequently passed to put a stop to it.
But what do I know? When so many kids are being given Ritalin to control their alleged ADHD behavior in class, how can we expect them not to turn to drugs of any kind as adults? We set the standard (that is exactly what we’re doing) and then Nancy Reagan comes along with a catchy, “Just Say No” phrase that means nothing in practice on the street. For that matter, I never thought paid-for telephone sex would ever get off the ground, so again, what do I know?
Maybe we should mount a campaign like the woman did with Married With Children and demand the sponsors stop buying advertising for Toddlers And Tiaras because nobody is going to miss that show except participating parents, participating girls … and the pedophiles who undoubtedly have their Tevos set to record every episode.

I’m from Asia and its on Discovery Home & Health here, if I’m not wrong. I admit to watching this out of curiosity but couldn’t sit through more than 5 minutes.
Who are the sponsors of this smut program? We must get it off the air. I firmly believe Jon Benet Ramsey was murdered through the lusts and horror of exposing her little body to some sick-o out there. I am willing to help.
I am not jealous, I am a proud mother of 2 girls. I think back at sweet little Jon Benet Ramsey and can’t help but think how horrible that was. Never found the killer who destroyed such a innocent beautiful little girl. I do wish that no one should allow mothers to put their children on display. I also think of a little girl named Jaycee Dugard who was tortured for 18 yrs. Not to mention the many thousands of children missing that no one ever knows their name cause there are so many. Look at all the postings in Walmart stores alone. People, plz know that there are predators watching little boys and girls, and possible they are watching your child / children … just assume your child is being watched and always be there to protect your sweet angels from harm, it’s reality! It is reality!!!, and it very well can happen to you. God forbid.

Boycotting the channel as well as the sponsors seems like a feasible idea to try and get the show canceled. I think it would also help to mention the fact that those of us who are disgusted by this show will be doing so.
Not only is it utterly disgusting, Toddlers & Tiaras is so incredibly harmful to these little girls and their future self-esteem. It needs to be taken off the air and I really think CPS should take a look at the mothers who agreed to be filmed by TLC.

My goodness . . .TLC does make some poor choices! :) Does anyone happen to know who the sponsors are for this show. I tried to watch but could only sit through a couple of minutes. It is too creepy!

I have to admit to watching Toddlers and Tiara’s but I agree with you that someone should step in and protect these innocent kids. They are completely exploited and it is by their own parents too.I guess it is similar with child actors but as least for the most part they don’t participate in stuff that is far too old for their tender years.
The parents should be held accountable. The parents feed kids loads of sugar and energy drink so that the kids can be worked even harder.
They do this when the kid has had to practice and wait and wait until their turn and sometimes kids get tired and want to fall asleep. So, the parents push energy drinks and junk food.
Those kids act like little monsters but the parents are even worse.
Actually, this show is being broadcast all over the world. I saw it when I lived in Estonia, now I see it on French TV in Luxembourg. Unhealthy is the LEAST one can say about this phenomenon. But will pulling this one show put an end to it? I doubt it very much … the roots run deeper.
You start a movement, figure out how to get people to actually ‘care’ (apathy), and count me in.
PS I would love to hear what can justify this kind of behavior. Cause i know for a fact a 15 mnth old can think for themselves and I’m positive a 5 yr old doesn’t want her eyebrows ripped out!
OMG, I have watched the show and I have to say as a mother this is border line child abuse, ripping out a 5yr olds eyebrows and tanning a 15mnth old baby is taking it way to far. I feel sorry for these mothers. UGH just enjoy your children and stop trying to live threw them it is really pathetic.Let them grow up at there own pace. Disgusting!!!!!!!!!
