Several weeks ago in the small town of San Lorenzo, Chihuahua a gang of thugs connected to one of Mexico’s large Drug Cartels entered a country dance and abducted a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl and disappeared into the night. The next day the severed heads of these two local kids showed up on the window sill of a local café, and the two bodies were deposited in the town square. The two victims had done nothing to their killers, but rather were picked at random in another arrogant exhibition of the outlaw’s reign of terror.
It took awhile, but today someone finally asked me what I thought about the Reverend Terry Jones’ plan to burn copies of the Koran this coming Saturday. I guess it really doesn’t make that much of a difference now, as I read on CNN that he stated that he has tentatively cancelled his plans to do so. Whether or not he goes ahead with it is irrelevant, because the question got me started thinking again. And you know what happens when I start thinking, I end up writing something that invariably pisses someone off.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: I first wrote and posted this column in January of 2009. Little did I know at the time my commentary about Chicago-style politics and its influence on the Obama administration would be so prophetic. From the Louisiana Purchase and the Nebraska Corn Husker Kickback, which helped to pass the Health Care Reform legislation, Washington, D.C. has seemingly become a mirror image of how things have been done in Chicago for nearly a century.
Some of the information in this piece came from a book titled “The Outfit: The Role of Chicago’s Underworld in the Shaping of Modern America” by Gus Russo. Another great read regarding the misuse of unions and corruption is “Supermob: How Sidney Korshak and His Criminal Associates Became America’s Hidden Power Brokers” also penned by Gus Russo.
For 30 years, aspartame (AminoSweet, Equal, NutraSweet, Spoonful, Canderel, E951, Benevia, etc.) has caused sickness and death in 100 countries.
In the beginning, the FDA tried to get G. D. Searle indicted for submitting fraudulent studies that did everything from filtering out the neoplasms to excising brain tumors, and putting dead rats back in the study and resurrected them on paper. This failed because the lawyers for the manufacturer hired the two federal prosecutors.
Did you see Obama in a labor day speech in Milwaukee this last weekend, dripping all over himself about the American worker? He was in full campaign mode to his base. It was, to this observer, disgusting. In the true spirit of Marxism and “let the workers of the world unite”, (Andy Stern – SEIU) he gushed socialist praises and accolades on his adoring audience. He shouted about his accomplishments of regulating the banks, wall street and the fat cats, doing as he always does, pitting one class of people against another.
The climate and renewable energy con is losing its luster – prompting anguish and desperation
It’s been a rough few weeks for the “eco-progressive” fringe.
Static jet streams induced near-record high temperatures in parts of the United States and Russia, but extreme cold pummeled Seattle, England and much of the Southern Hemisphere. Perhaps Al Gore, Michael Mann and Rajendra Pachauri can turn this hodgepodge into “catastrophic climate change,” but most folks understand it as Mother Nature and weather.
