I was frankly surprised when Barack Obama was elected President in 2008. I thought his self-identification as a black American would tip the scales to John McCain in a nation that has had a long history of racial enmity towards blacks.
None of this is new. Race was a factor in American life in pre-Revolutionary days and slavery had to be papered over even in the writing of the Constitution. It took a Civil War to get amendments to end slavery and ensure the rights of citizenship were extended to blacks. It took another hundred years to make it real.
For many years people around the world have marveled at how the United States has been so innovative and creative using good old fashioned common sense to solve knotty problems and find solutions to overcome bureaucratic hurdles.
In essence, it has greatly helped this country become number one in just about any phase of life, or commerce. We truly were the greatest country in the world.
But in recent years,
The world countries are competing with each other in imposing new financial sanctions against Iran. While the Iranian people still hasn’t forgotten the bitter memory of 8-year war with the Baathist Iraq which was masterminded and fostered by the United States and its European allies, new rounds of crippling sanctions directed against the most strategic industries of Iran come after one another in what is claimed to be the international movement of preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Every time the President speaks, makes another appointment, or ramrods a new bill through the democratically controlled congress, he reinforces what millions of Americans now feel; this President does not love America.
With Arizonans cringing in fear even hundreds of miles from the border from the aftermath of brutally murdered ranchers and border police, we might expect any other President to spring into action.
Tea Parties, The Tenth Amendment and The Attack Upon SB 1070
My last two articles (Some Thoughts On My First Tea Party Meeting, A Rebuttal To Criticism Of My Last Article) regarding the Tea Party movement stirred up a bit more of a hornets nest than I had anticipated, but hopefully my rebuttal got people to thinking about what they themselves stand for, and what they are willing to STAND UP for.
Or do we have to wait a few more days?
Note: The following was submitted by the author, yet was written just shortly before the passage of ObamaCare, hence several time-lapse comments, have been left intact. (Ed.)
How President Obama Will Use Nationalized Healthcare To Grant Amnesty To Millions of Illegal Aliens
If President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other Progressives are successful in their attempt to hijack the health care system in this Country, a ‘Catch 22′ (no-win situation) will be created with regard to illegal aliens.
This morning I sat down and put pen to paper, well, fingers to keyboard anyway, and discussed my thoughts on the Tea Party meeting I attended last night. As well as sending it out to the regular readers of my articles, I posted it on the Tea Party webpage provided by the local chapter of Tea Party Patriots. You can view it, and all corresponding comments at: http://yubasutterteapartypatriots.ning.com/profiles/blogs/dont-get-me-wrong?xg_source=activity
For the longest time a friend of mine had been trying to get me to join, or at least attend a meeting of the local Tea Party movement. Last night I succumbed to his persistence and attended my first meeting.
After the meeting I felt like I was someone suffering from terminal cancer who had just met a child who would one day grow up to become a brilliant doctor who would discover a cure for the disease that was killing me.
