The distance between the president and the people is beginning to be revealed.
The deepening notes of disenchantment with Barack Obama now issuing from commentators across the political spectrum were predictable. So, too, were the charges from some of the president’s earliest enthusiasts about his failure to reflect a powerful sense of urgency about the oil spill.
One can only conclude that America finds herself in the current mess as a direct result of ignorance. “Ignorance of what,” you ask? I must answer, “Ignorance of practically everything.”
I concluded, early on, the election of Obama was a direct result of ignorance. Ignorance of just how politics works in America as a result of no education, period. Ignorance as a direct result of education received in the government schools, and just plain old willful ignorance – choosing to be ignorant of politics in America, by electing not to involve oneself in the distasteful, and sometimes less than sanitary job of maintaining America’s freedom.
Long ago and far away, Father’s Day was celebrated as a special day for Dad with his favorite meal generally accompanied by the traditional gifts of a shirt, tie, belt, or wallet. As a son giving these gifts, and later as a father receiving them, it did not fully dawn on me what they really symbolized – honoring the father’s central role as the family breadwinner, the family member who brought home the bacon.
All of this has changed, of course, as society and the economy have changed.
“Even despots, gangsters and pirates have specific sensitiveness, (and) follow some specific morals.”
The claim was made by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a recent speech, following the deadly commando raid on the humanitarian aid flotilla to Gaza on May 31. According to Erdogan, Israel doesn’t adhere to the code of conduct embraced even by the vilest of criminals.
Congress and the White House are using to Gulf oil spill to advance dubious energy agendas
Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr., Niger Innis and Reverend Samuel Rodriquez
Business and capitalism are dirty words in many White House and progressive circles, except in two ways.
Business is good when it can be co-opted and manipulated by government to advance “progressive” energy, social or economic agendas, and capitalism is a virtue in the sense of capitalizing on every crisis to promote those agendas – through the guiding principle enshrined by leftists like Saul Alinsky and Rahm Emanuel: “Never let a crisis go to waste.”
If Obummer was trying to convince the country that he was on top of the situation in the gulf oil disaster since day one, it didn’t work.
There are several skimmer ships sitting idle in Holland, Norway and Saudi Arabia just to mention a few countries and they all offered to help and were turned down by Obummer and company, when in fact he could have waived the Jones act with the stroke of a pen as George Bush did during Katrina.
For you bleeding-heart liberals, who wish to boycott Arizona, and sue to suspend our states’ rights to enforce Federal law… Stay out of something, of which you have no knowledge. – Editor
What you will see in the following pictures is brought to you courtesy of the BUSH/OBAMA Administration - do not forget that. It is due to the REFUSAL by BUSH and OBAMA to stop the INVASION OF MEXICANS on our Southern Border that this is going on. Obama could stop the *spill* of the Mexicans a lot easier than he can stop the oil spill in the Gulf but he refuses to do so. He is a TRAITOR – a dirty rotten good for NOTHING Traitor…. determined to see America destroyed. Doubt my words? Then tell me one thing he has done to PROTECT America from destruction. There isn’t even ONE thing that can be listed because all his actions have been to ensure America is destroyed – financially – spiritually – morally (his push for the Sodomites and Lesbians) – and physically. – Granny
In President Obama, conservatives face the most formidable liberal politician in at least a generation. In 2008, he won the presidency with a majority of the popular vote—something a Democrat had not done since Jimmy Carter’s squeaker in 1976—and handily increased the Democrats’ control of both houses of Congress. Measured against roughly two centuries worth of presidential victories by Democratic non-incumbents, his win as a percentage of the popular vote comes in third behind FDR’s in 1932 and Andrew Jackson’s in 1828.
More importantly, Obama won election not as a status quo liberal, but as an ambitious reformer. Far from being content with incremental gains, he set his sights on major systemic change in health care, energy and environmental policy, taxation, financial regulation, education, and even immigration, all pursued as elements of a grand strategy to “remake America.”
President Obama is one of the most articulate we have had in that office. His ability to deliver a speech or a short talk such as his first from the Oval Office Tuesday evening is impressive. He knows how to deliver an address.
What he doesn’t know or doesn’t care about is the difference between the truth and a lie.
His fifteen-minute address was the piling on of one lie after another regarding America’s use of energy and its needs for the future.
