Federal Government: Reaching the Pinnacle of Dishonesty

It is truly a sad and pathetic state of affairs when the Executive and Legislative Branches of the U.S. Federal Government are so thoroughly dishonest and corrupt that they have managed to bankrupt the Nation, guarantee hyperinflation and leave 309 million Americans with a National Debt today of $13 trillion dollars. In 2009, the budget deficit was $1.42 trillion dollars. We have a projected National Debt of $19.6 trillion dollars by 2015. In addition to the contemptible numbers above, the U.S. is also committed to $128 trillion dollars in unfunded liability.

Revealed! The John Birch Society

“It is natural for man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.” – Patrick Henry

~ Foreword ~
This column among others, is dedicated to those Americans, who blindly follow wherever they are lead – without ever asking a question. As with members of the National Socialist Party of the 1930′s, the people willingly followed their ‘leader’ without question and we see the same thing happening in America today – not just with our political parties and leaders, but with those organizations who claim to be working on behalf of this nation. Although what you are about to read is going to shock many of you, please understand that I believe that many of the writers for the John Birch Society’s publication, The New American are amongst the finest writers of our times, however I concern myself less with what they have to say, than how each of them, as representatives of the Society conduct themselves as a whole.

Hirschhorn: This Year Anti-Incumbency Movement Succeeds or Fails

For some years a number of groups have mounted an anti-incumbency campaign aimed at ridding Congress of the huge majority that keep getting reelected despite miserable performance. This year’s midterm elections provide the ultimate test for all the anti-incumbency sentiment that has bubbled up over many years. This year more than all others there is a huge amount of public discontent with Congress which is solidly supported by the cowardly, partisan actions or inactions that explain why so many Americans are fed up with the two-party controlled political system. Rightfully, many, many Americans see the country on the wrong track.

Baroud: Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon: Righting a Perpetual Wrong

Finally, a parliamentary debate in Lebanon over the human rights of Palestinian refugees. What is unfortunate though, is that granting basic civil rights to over 400,000 Palestinians – 62 years after their expulsion from their historic homeland and the issuing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – has been a topic of ‘debate’ in the first place. Equally regrettable is the fact that various ‘Christian’ Lebanese political forces are fiercely opposing granting Palestinians their rights.

Driessen: A few questions for President Obama

How exactly does the President plan to create his new Green Jobs Economy?

America needs decisive leaders who understand what government can (and cannot) do to stop the Gulf gusher, clean up the mess, and get business, jobs and prosperity back on track. Instead, President Obama sounds like an anti-business Community Organizer in Chief – pointing fingers, making baseless claims about ending our “addiction to oil,” and leaving no crisis unexploited to promote job-killing cap-tax-and-trade and renewable energy agendas. His June 15 “vision” raised more questions than it answered.

Engelhardt: Call the politburo, we’re in trouble

Mark it on your calendar. It seems we’ve finally entered the Soviet era in America.

You remember the Soviet Union, now almost 20 years in its grave. But who gives it a second thought today? Even in its glory years that “evil empire” was sometimes referred to as “the second superpower.” In 1991, after seven decades, it suddenly disintegrated and disappeared, leaving the United States – the “sole superpower,” even the “hyperpower,” on planet Earth – surprised but triumphant.

WACO: Soon to be a major motion picture

No telling yet how this will turn out;…perhaps it will tell the truth, or maybe it will continue the government cover-up of what really happened. But while the involvement of libertarian rabid gun-rights actor Kurt Russell and James McNulty (the producer of the acclaimed documentary Waco: Rules of Engagement) would seem to bode well for the telling of the facts, there are reasons to beware as well.

Central Banking in Crisis: Some Twenty Countries on the Verge of Insolvency

Cycles were created for the accumulation of wealth. A boom occurs and you get wealthy from investments on the way up and even wealthier on the way down, because the elitists are controlling the supply of money and credit and interest rates. That is the real underlying mission of the Fed, which is owned by banking and Wall Street. All the power to control markets and create inflation and deflation lies with the Federal Reserve. Politicians do not create monetary policy, the Fed does. The politicians do as they are told. They know from time to time there will be economic pain, but the payoffs are so good they learn to live with it.

Chicago Not Done Fighting if Court Strikes Gun Ban

CHICAGO (AP) – If the U.S. Supreme Court strikes down Chicago’s handgun ban, the city will likely do what Washington, D.C., did when its own ban was overturned two years ago: Put in place all sorts of regulations and restrictions to make it tougher to buy guns and easier for police to know who has them.

“We’re not going to roll over,” Chicago Mayor Richard Daley told The Associated Press.
