Mexican Assassins Untouched Because Of Fear Of Retaliation!

March 31, 2010 – As you know, one of the local ranchers was murdered in Douglas two weeks ago. His funeral is tomorrow.  I received three messages similar to the one below from different officers within the Rangers and law enforcement.

Yesterday afternoon I talked to another rancher near us who is a friend of ours and whose great grandfather started their ranch here in 1880. These are good people. He told me what really happened out at the Krentz ranch and what you won’t read in the papers. The Border Patrol is afraid of starting a small war between civilians here and the drug cartels in Mexico.

Sticht: Adult Oracy in America

There can be no doubt that functional illiteracy maims the ability of adults to achieve well in contemporary life. However, there are a number of emerging factors that suggest that not only is literacy a problem, millions of adults may also be functionally inorate. – Tom Sticht

The 1993 report Adult Literacy in America, based on the National Adult Literacy Survey (NALS) lead the U. S. Department of Education to claim that almost half of America’s adults were functionally illiterate. A decade later, the National Assessment of Adult Literacy (NAAL) reiterated that claim.

Hultberg: The Charlie Brown Syndrome

In the famous Charles Schulz comic strip, Peanuts, Charlie Brown is enticed every year by Lucy to placekick a football that she volunteers to hold for him. Charlie runs down the field toward his beguiling friend, who is holding the football on the ground, and swings his leg in a huge arching kick. But at the last moment Lucy jerks the football away and Charlie flies through the air to land on his back with a loud thump and the scream of “Aaugh!” Every year, Lucy convinces Charlie to try another kick, promising not to pull the football away like she did last time. And every year, Charlie runs down the field and Lucy jerks the football away at the last moment with Charlie falling on his famous fanny.

Cantor: Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Bleeding Profusely

The two loons largely responsible for the housing and mortgage debacle are Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

Barney Frank, the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, and Dodd who is chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, have their fingerprints all over this mess.

Miller: Don’t be fooled by peddlers of ‘Immigration Reform’ Scams

With today’s issue of The Federal Observer, we will return to the roots of contributor, S. J. Miller’s twelve part series dealing with the title subject. Her experience and involvement in the passage of “Proposition 200″ in Arizona, makes her uniquely qualified as no other, to present the facts on this timely issue. For those of our readers, who are new to this publication, we invite you to study Sandra’s series closely, and use her words, as an educational tool. Some of the names of the players have changed, such as Ted Kennedy, but his ghost lives among us. As Arizona once again paves the way for action, Miller’s work will once again, set the nation afire.

The complete series originally began publishing on January 24, 2005 and concluded, February 18th of that year. It’s time has come, once again. (Editor)

Ross: Social Justice My Ass

In a video, dated May 5, the Reverend Al Sharpton said, “We won’t have true social justice until everything is equal in everybody’s house.” Is that right? Well I wonder if my house is as nice inside as yours, as Jesse Jackson’s, or maybe as nice as the inside of Tiger Woods house. Are you willing to share your wealth with me, or are you all talk to stir up people into demanding that people the have acquired a comfortable lifestyle give up a portion of their comfort to those who have not achieved the same?

Stuter: Democracy in Action

stuter_new_thumbMay 11, 2010 – Democracy is a word used often by our elected these days. Democracy, defined, is rule in accordance with the passions, opinions and prejudices of those in power.

Let’s compare a few cases to see how democracy works.

Mac Donald: Praising Arizona

The state’s new immigration law is perfectly reasonable, but you wouldn’t know it from the New York Times.

Supporters of Arizona’s new law strengthening immigration enforcement in the state should take heart from today’s New York Times editorial blasting it. “Stopping Arizona” contains so many blatant falsehoods that a reader can be fully confident that the law as actually written is a reasonable, lawful response to a pressing problem.

Lott: Fears of Arizona’s Immigration Law Are Bogus

~ Foreword ~
Claims that Arizona’s new immigration law is racist are effectively arguments that certain racial, ethnic and national groups should be above and exempt from immigration laws altogether. They’re also effectively arguments that America has no right to have borders and immigration laws at all. How can we have borders and immigration laws that are not a joke if the groups that comprise the vast majority of illegals are entitled to a special exemption from those laws due to their race?
