Ross: Pardon the language, but I am fed up with this shit

rossOn May 5th, five students were sent home from Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill California because the were wearing T-shirts displaying the American Flag. For those of you unawares, Morgan Hill is about a half hours drive south of San Jose CA.

The students say that school officials claimed that their t-shirts were incendiary because they were displayed on a day which celebrates the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo.

A statement issued by the Morgan Hill Unified School District stated, “In an attempt to foster a spirit of cultural awareness and maintain a safe and supportive school environment, the Live Oak High School administration took certain actions earlier today. The district does not concur with the Live Oak High School administration‘s interpretation of either board or district policy related to these actions.

Then on Thursday, a student at Klein Collins High School in Spring Texas was suspended for 3 days because he took down a Mexican flag which was predominantly displayed somewhere on the school premises. Earlier the students mother had called to complain about the flag being hung on school property, but the school refused to return her calls.

I don’t know, while I was asleep did someone suddenly whisk me away to Wonderland where everything is topsy turvy, or am I still in the United States of America? I ask because if I am not mistaken the stars and stripes is the official flag of these United States.

So why was a Mexican flag openly displayed on the campus of an American school, and why were American students told to remove their t shirts as not to offend those celebrating a Mexican holiday?

What’s next? Are school cafeterias going to shut down during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan so as not to offend any Muslim students who are fasting during their religious holiday?

These schools are on American soil, they are funded by the tax dollars of American citizens, and they are there for one sole purpose, to educate our children. They are not centers to celebrate multiculturalism.

A very long time ago, a man named Noah Webster once said, “Every child in America should be acquainted with his own country. He should read books that furnish him with ideas that will be useful to him in life and practice. As soon as he opens his lips, he should rehearse the history of his own country.

That is what our schools should be doing, teaching our kids about their country. It matters not if the child was born here, or if they migrated here, they live in America, and they should learn about America.

It is fine that they study other countries, and other cultures, but there is a time and a place for it. That is why our schools teach World History. It is not the place of our schools to spend valuable time celebrating the holidays of any other country, especially when they punish other students who happen to be displaying pride for their own country on the same day.

Thomas Jefferson once stated, “To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.” To use my tax dollars so schools can celebrate foreign holidays is offensive to me.

George Washington told us that, “Citizens by birth or choice, of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of AMERICAN, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of Patriotism, more than any appellation derived from local discriminations.

Theodore Roosevelt went further by saying, “We can have no 50-50 allegiance in this country. Either a man is an American and nothing else, or he is not an American at all.

Our second President, John Adams declared that, “Children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom.” What does Cinco de Mayo, or Saint Patrick’s Day for that matter, have to do with educating our children in regards to the principles of freedom?

My son just graduated from high school last year. During his senior year they spent half the school year studying the American Revolution and the events leading up to the formation of our government.

There is no way that they can comprehensively cover the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Federalist Papers, and all the writings of that era, in less than five months.

You know, when I was in fifth grade I had to completely memorize, and recite, Patrick Henry’s speech to the Virginia House of Burgesses in which he declared, “Give me liberty or give me death.”

I asked my son after he graduated if he had read that speech. He didn’t even know who Patrick Henry was. Yet his Spanish teacher made sure he knew all about Pancho Villa and Che Guevara were though.

My son also told me today that when he was driving home from college he saw local high school students marching in protest against the new immigration law passed in Arizona. I wonder, were these students suspended for missing school to take part in that protest? I bet if other kids had skipped school to wave Arizona Sate flags they would have been suspended in no time. And therein lies the point of this whole article.

This is America dammit! I don’t care if you are Hispanic, Asian, or an Eskimo from the North Pole, you came to live in this country you should do so with the desire to become an American, and nothing else. If not you can pack your bags and go back to wherever it is you came from.

I don’t care if you want to retain pride in, and even celebrate the holidays of your native land. You can do that in your home, in your community, or in your church as far as I am concerned, but not in our schools, not while my taxes are funding those schools.

Our schools need to return to being places where kids learn what it means to be an American. They can’t do that when they teach them all this multicultural bullshit.

I have to ask, why do all these immigrants come here for in the first place. It certainly doesn’t seem like they have any allegiance to, or pride for, this country. That only leaves me to conclude that they are nothing more than parasites who come to America to take advantage of our generosity while having no respect for those who pay for those benefits by way of their taxes.

And that, my friends, is what pisses me off. If you gave a shit about this country it ought to piss you off too.

These schools are the nerviest bastards ever… They are telling US what our children will learn against our will. If the schools want to they will teach our kids that a gay non-traditional family is normal and if you believe otherwise, then you are nothing but a hate monger. They will teach that other countries need to just invade us illegally and that it is ok. When did the school system start to think that it was the White House???

The world is getting worse and worse. The biggest problem is that we are just letting it happen. No one is standing up and saying NO MORE and rioting or picketing these issues so that we get attention. The liberal left news airs what THEY want and pretend like we’re all ok with the decisions THEY make. Eventually we will have to either stand up and say NO or we will become a socialist country. Plain and simple.
