Ewart: Never Listen to Government, It Lies!

“The search for truth implies a duty.  One must not conceal any part of what one has recognized to be true.” – Albert Einstein – an honorable scientist

“It’s not a matter of what is true that counts, but a matter of what is perceived to be true.” Henry Kissinger – a dishonest and corrupt politician

ewart_blogThe contrast between these two utterances by famous men, is stark indeed.  The latter, a seeker of truth, is repelled by deception and lies, as his work demands strict adherence to a rigid scientific process in order to maintain credibility with his peers and bring meaning and substance to that which he seeks.  The former, a corrupt politician, perceives truth to be whatever image he can impress upon the masses by authority of position and repetition of message, in pursuit of his primary objective …… power, with a reckless disregard for truth.

But to define truth is not an easy task.  Isaac Newton, (1642 – 1727) with knowledge limited to the time, worked out the mathematics to predict the movement of heavenly bodies under the force of gravity.  His mathematics were incredibly accurate and stood the test of time, that is until a new genius came along (Albert Einstein 1875 – 1955) and changed everything by advancing the Theory of Relativity that threw a monkey wrench into Newton’s laws of gravity.  It wasn’t that Newton was wrong, because he wasn’t.  It was just that Newton’s laws worked in a range of physics well below the speed of light.  Einstein, on the other hand, predicted that Newton’s gravity would actually bend light, which was proved in a famous expedition and experiment, led by Sir Arthur Eddington, near the Island of Principe, off the West Coast of Africa, during the solar eclipse of April 29th, 1919.

04.03_ewartSo Newton’s “truth”, within in specific limits, lasted until a new “truth” was discovered, which broadened the parameters of the “truth” about gravity and the speed of light.  The new truth expanded our knowledge of the workings of our universe and was a good thing.

Every week this author gets together at lunch with a very close friend and we discuss politics, science, religion and other truths, distortions of truth, myths and lies.  We are of roughly the same age and have parallel political leanings.  Much of what we write in our frequent articles, is spawned by those discussions.  Many times we go round and round in our search for the truth, based on our own perspectives, experiences, accumulated knowledge and yes, even our own biases.

We spend a good deal of time discussing the statements made by politicians and other dignitaries and test those statements against common knowledge, common sense, physics, economics and what others have stated on the same subject.  Sometimes we look at each other with astonishment on how people of honor, in high places, could make such utterances, or believe such non-sense.  Perhaps the prevailing words here are, “people of honor”.

We have come to two conclusions on what are the real political realities of today.  The first conclusion is that the problems of our nation have grown so large and so complex, that puny man seems to be impotent in his attempts to solve them, especially when shackled by single-focused political constituencies.  That complexity is largely of our own doig.

The second conclusion is related to the first.  Since the national problems are so huge, politicians resort to propaganda, hype, distortions and lies to convince the masses that they are in control of the situation and what they are doing is for the masses’ own good, in spite of the fact that for purely political reasons, there can be no common-sense solutions to any of the problems.  The decisions the politicians do make, so they tell us, are usually made as a result of some emergency, real, imagined, or purposely cooked up for their own ends.  The hard cold truth of the matter is, politicians lie and for the most part, cannot be believed, no matter which side of the aisle they reside.  The unwise person that does believe them, does so at their own peril.  All of this is due to the growing lack of honor and integrity by those in power, to the principles of freedom and liberty.

Unfortunately, this adage applies to a good deal of what we observe today.  Take man-caused global warming for example.  The propaganda, hype and distortions from the government, academia and the media, were and still are, unrelenting.  Even in the cold light of exposure to the so-called fundamental science of man-caused global warming as an unmitigated farce, government, academia and the media are still spewing this venom into the cooling atmosphere, while some of the coldest temperatures in recent memory have plummeted the North American and European continents into a deep freeze this winter.  Global warming?   In a pig’s eye!

But it gets worse.  Even as man-caused global warming has been exposed as a giant, planet-wide scam, many western governments, including America, are promoting Kyoto protocols, Copenhagen accords and cap and trade insanity.   If man is not causing global warming, why then is it necessary to limit CO2 emissions, if in fact CO2 has nothing to do with global warming?   Could it be another attempt at establishing absolute, world power?

And there is more.  As government health care programs around the globe go broke and ration health care to the masses, while the dumbed-down serfs of government wait in long lines and their chances of living under current health care regulations grow dim, the American government plunges head long into a policy that has failed everywhere else and a policy that treats people like herds of cattle.  The new cattle prod for the nationalized American Health Care system is the new and expanded Internal Revenue Service, the revenue policemen patterned after the infamous German Gestapo of the 1930′s and 40′s.  That’s right! IRS agents will now take armed guards with them when confronting a taxpayer.

If we can no longer trust government, the media, or even academia to level with us on important matters, who can we turn to?  We can turn to the very same people we turned to that made America the greatest nation on Earth, ourselves.  We can turn to the intellect, instinct and courage that are the very embodiment of the individual American free spirit.  We can turn to ourselves for the truth by doing what way too few do.  We can learn, research, study and understand the issues and how they impact us.  We can learn, research, study and understand our enemies, either foreign or domestic and take appropriate action to protect our God-given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  If we turn our heads and do otherwise, what has been built up by free men and women at great cost and sacrifice over 234 years, will be torn asunder, with little hope of ever rising again.

If you are one of those who don’t listen to government and would like to become a part of the movement to return government to its constitutional limits, if you would like to volunteer in this effort, we suggest you contact us at info@narlo.org, or contact the good folks who are organizing the 9-12 March on Washington DC this September.  Log on to their website at http://www.MarchOnDC.org/, locate their contact information and then e-mail them with your offer to volunteer.  They and we need your help.  Your freedom and your children’s and grand children’s freedom, hang in the balance.
