Ewart: Sarah Dear Sarah, Please Don’t Run For President!

palin_thumbAt the risk of offending many, we go boldly forth into no-man’s-land and take issue with what appears to be the prevailing wisdom, that the rise of Sarah Palin to the level of conservative nirvana is just short of inventing the electric light bulb.  We have had these opposing views since she first suddenly appeared on the scene, out of virtual obscurity, during the last 80 days of the 2008 Republican campaign for president.

In fairness, let us first accentuate her positives.  She is an attractive woman with excellent bearing, of quick whit and mind, apparently an exemplary wife and mother and she says all the things that conservatives want to hear.

TARGET: Couric – CBS stoops to New Low

couric_thumbJanuary 19, 2010 – The CBS Evening News tonight had an opening salvo about the Massachusetts race.  While Martha Coakley was characterized as the Massachusetts Attorney General, Katie Couric lost no time portraying Scott Brown as a “former model” complete with nude picture of Scott Brown with certain anatomical parts blurred out.

The meaning, of course, could not have been clearer:  Martha Coakley was an upstanding citizen while Scott Brown was a sleaze that had crawled from beneath semen stained bed sheets and put on a suit!

TARGET: Massachusetts I – Democrats running scared…

target_thumbJanuary 18, 2010 – History may be in the making in Massachusetts.

Tomorrow a special election will be held to see who will fill the vacant Senate seat of Ted Kennedy, the drunk who left a pregnant Mary Jo Kopechne to drown in his submerged vehicle at Chappaquiddick.

It seems the Democrats truly believed the seat was theirs for the taking.

They now find themselves in the campaign of their life.

TARGET: Massachusetts II – If Brown Wins…

target_thumbJanuary 18, 2010 – As a traditional and constitutional conservative, I have to admit to mixed feelings with regard to the Senate race that will be decided tomorrow in Massachusetts.  Don’t get me wrong:  I want Republican candidate Brown to win, but if he does it might just be more of a wake-up call to the entire Democratic Party than I’d like to see happen before the November elections occur.

Stuter: Come again!!!

stuter_thumbOn January 16, 2010, Also Known As (AKA) Obama and former Presidents Clinton and Bush held a joint press conference concerning the relief effort under way for Haiti.

Snippets of their remarks were broadcast by the lamestream media. The complete text of their remarks can be found on the White House web-site.

After AKA finished pontificating, GW Bush took the podium. Along in the middle of his speechifying, he makes the most unbelievable statement yet. If you are drinking coffee or anything else as you read this, please, put it down and make sure you swallow before continuing.

What did GW have to say?

Caruba: Distracted by Stupidity

eye_on_america_newI have a friend who lives with his blind Malamute dog, Boris, in a cabin deep in the Missouri woods. He is as self-sufficient as one can be, but he is not one of those survivalists who are waiting for the Homeland Security to show up. He has to go into town to get dog food and pipe tobacco, although he has been brewing his own hard cider of late. It’s his latest hobby.

He is hardly cut off from the world and that seems to be his main complaint because he is of the opinion that it is largely populated by stupid people and, frankly, it is hard to disagree. As a result, we are both richly rewarded with evidence on a daily basis.

Cinderella Story

biesada_thumb_newI’d like to respond to Captain Angela Young for being chosen to act as Cinderella, and for taking the time to speak on behalf of General, Gene Renault, Commander of NORAD and the U.S. Northern Command, who takes acception with my January 3rd article, It’s a good day to whip somebodies ass!

I appreciate the General’s service, and Captain Young’s, who speaks for the General with the information I referenced out of a Russian article posted in the European Union Times, but I hope that they realize that the people have lost all confidence in our leaders.

Ewart: From Russia Without Love

postman_ewartEvery writer, no matter who they are, are blinded by their own perspective, their own point of reference, or their own knowledge or lack there of, or an inaccurate view of history.  This writer is no different.  Our perspective is that of a proud American and we make no apologies for that perspective.  We believe, no, we are convinced that America is an exceptional country and the American people are more creative, resilient, self-reliant, responsible and generous than other people in other nations, not because we are better than anyone else, but because for 233 years we have been essentially a free people in a free nation.  Freedom is the difference.  Government oppression is the enemy of freedom.

Driessen: Not exactly Mother Teresa

Unethical Greenpeace actions threaten the livelihoods and lives of millions.

rear_window_blogShould corporate ethics principles apply only to profit-making companies? Or should they also cover nonprofit corporations, especially those that badger for-profits to be more “socially responsible”?

Should corporations be judged partly on creating jobs, supporting communities, or improving and saving lives? And should nonprofit corporations be penalized for impeding the enhancement of human life?

The answers should be self-evident. But they’re not, as US nonprofits and politicians have repeatedly demonstrated.
