On January 16, 2010, Also Known As (AKA) Obama and former Presidents Clinton and Bush held a joint press conference concerning the relief effort under way for Haiti.

Snippets of their remarks were broadcast by the lamestream media. The complete text of their remarks can be found on the White House web-site.

After AKA finished pontificating, GW Bush took the podium. Along in the middle of his speechifying, he makes the most unbelievable statement yet. If you are drinking coffee or anything else as you read this, please, put it down and make sure you swallow before continuing.

What did GW have to say?

He said, “I know a lot of people want to send blankets or water — just send your cash.  One of the things that the President and I will do is to make sure your money is spent wisely.”

Come again?  GW Bush, who spent us into the worst recession ever, and AKA who has plunged this country further in debt—to the tune of $1,631,667,980,002.16 (1/20/2009 thru 1/14/2010), want us, the American citizens, to send them our “cash”?

Have we forgotten TARP—the Troubled Asset Relief Program legislation, passed under GW Bush; the bill we just had to have or the economy was simply going to implode; that went to bail out bankers and Wall Street cronies?

Have we forgotten HR 1, appropriating $787,000,000,000.00, that was going to stimulate the economy but that has turned up in the oddest places, like none-existent districts in every state?  Or that went to build a pedestrian overpass between Microsoft and the employee parking lot?  Or ended up in the pocket of Michael E Mann, Professor, Director of Earth System Science Center, Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), one of the scientists now caught in the Climategate scandal?  These are but a few examples.  There are many more.

And these guys think we should send them our “cash.”  Have we lost our ever-loving minds?  Who, in their right mind, would send a politician cash with the expectation that it would be “spent wisely”?

Just out of curiosity, I clicked on the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund link.

As I read their introduction, I could not help but think, with a little word smithing, that their intro wouldn’t apply to the American people, today:

On January 12, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti just outside the capital city of Port-au-Prince. 20, 2009, an illegal alien was sworn in as president of the United States.  The devastation – in lives lost, property destroyed, and families displaced – is immense.  The result has been the devastation of the American economy, leaving Americans at the mercy of unemployment, home foreclosures, job loss and the inability to provide even the most basic of needs for their families.  Tent cities are growing, and whole families are being forced to live in vehicles, under bridges and in abandoned buildings that are unfit, unsanitary and dangerous.

At the request of President Obama, we are partnering to help the Haitian American people reclaim their country and rebuild their lives.

Our immediate priority is to save lives. The critical needs in Haiti America are great, but they are also simple: food, water, shelter, and first-aid supplies. The best way concerned citizens can help is to donate funds that will go directly to supplying these material needs.

Through the Clinton Bush Haiti American Fund, we will work to provide immediate relief and long-term support to earthquake survivors those devastated by deleterious government policies.  We will channel the collective goodwill around the globe to help the people of Haiti America rebuild their cities lives, their neighborhoods, and their families.

We ask each of you to give what you can to help ensure the people of Haiti America can build back stronger and better than ever.

Both of us have personally witnessed the tremendous generosity and goodwill of the American people and of our friends around the world to help in times of great need. There is no greater rallying cry for our common humanity than witnessing our neighbors in distress. And, like any good neighbor, we have an obligation and desire to come to their aid.

Thank you for taking the time to visit, and we hope you will donate to this worthwhile cause. The people of Haiti America now need our assistance more than ever.

The first ones to get a copy of this message should be our “good friends” in Washington, DC who voted themselves a $5,000 to $7,000 raise while Medicare recipients and retired military were summarily denied a raise.  Of those still employed, most have not seen a raise in three to four years.  Yet our “good friends” see no reason they should be denied!

If one goes to the “About” section of the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund website, one discovers that one can send one’s hard-earned and scarce donations to the William J Clinton Foundation in Little Rock, Arkansas or to the Communities Foundation of Texas in Dallas, Texas.

“Come one, come all, gather ’round.  I’ve got just the ticket to lighten your load, brighten your day, and empty your pockets!”

Would you truly consider giving your money to a snake-oil salesman whose proven record in “spending wisely” has resulted in the waste of billions of your tax dollars in pursuit of agendas not in the best interests of America or the American people?  That have resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans?  I’m not pointing at Democrats, I’m not pointing at Republicans, I’m pointing at both Democrats and Republicans!

No one can look at the devastation that is obviously afflicting the people of Haiti at this time — the living, the dying, the dead — and not feel compassion, not understand the horror that became their lives in a matter of seconds.

But the milk of human kindness needs to be applied at home first.  There are Americans, right now, living under bridges, out of vehicles, in abandoned condemned buildings because they have lost their jobs, their homes, and their ability to provide for their families; there are people literally starving to death or already dead due to the policies of our government—Congress, Clinton, both Bush’s and AKA included.

It’s time America start looking out for Americans first.

America and Americans can no longer afford to be the cash cow to the entire world.  The devastation that afflicts America and Americans, right now, didn’t happen in seconds; it has happened over the course of four presidents.  Literally thousands have been adversely affected through no fault of their own.

Bush’s words have the ring of a con man or con artist, out to rob the American people one more time!
