What follows is worth your time and consideration. I have been most supportive of the author for this month-long project, which he felt compelled to take on. The opening segment, is from a cover letter, which he sent along with copies of his letter to the (dis)Honorable, Senator Charles E. Schumer, (D) New York. (Ed.)

“I have enclosed a copy of an important letter for your careful review. I spent over a month struggling to arrange my thoughts, revising, and rewriting, and finally putting them to paper for this particular piece to US Senator Schumer – it is THAT important to me. With my work schedule as a school bus driver, I live life like a hamster on a treadmill and very seldom have time to write such an involved piece anymore, so this general cover letter will have to do to inform you. Please pay me the courtesy of reading the letter. You will soon realize that I wrote this piece in the strongest possible terms. I have a great fear for the very safety and security of our Republic, the United States of America – AND it’s continued existence as a sovereign nation.

In my humble opinion ‘We the People’ have been ignored and cheated – and have not received honest government for the last 40 or more years. Good Americans die every day for causes not worth dying for, and our government continually forces itself on other countries around the world – while at the same time IGNORES its own people’s plight. I spent an entire blue-collar working life watching job after job slip from my grasp to the benefit of the self-serving and greedy of this nation – to the point now where there is nothing left of the ‘American Dream’.

All the ‘good jobs’ have left the country. While the well-to-do ‘establishment’ would certainly argue, I KNOW it for a fact; because for what seemed the umpteenth time I “re-educated” myself yet again and earned a college degree when I was 54 years of age. And even that did not lead to the elusive ‘American dream’. Not a chance. Now at 63, I find myself transporting children who don’t seem to know how to learn and don’t act like they want to anyway. Can you blame them? Perhaps they have been paying attention to the national bad news – and have realized to their chagrin that there ARE no jobs left for them – hence, no future.

While I fully realize my letter to the Senator is lengthy, the problems created by inept politicians are colossal by comparison. The important thing, of course is saving our country from sure ruin. Please read my letter with an open mind. My sole intent is to somehow make a positive difference – to save us all from the hell I see coming very soon. Partisan politics must go the way of the dinosaurs. We MUST all pull together – in the same direction, and in unison, for any positive change to occur. Please help me help America. Your response is certainly most welcome.”

Senator Schumer;

We have no time to waste so I will get right to it. As a constituent, a natural born US citizen, and one who LOVES his country dearly, I will address two very inter-related topics that judging by your actions and voting record, – and contrary to the wishes of the majority of the American people, I am not at all sure you comprehend. Allow me to clarify, to wit:

We want NO AMNESTY – not for even one person in this country that arrived here illegally. Not now, Not EVER! I see you even have a ‘link’ for Español speakers on your website. Which begs the question, ‘why weren’t there any of these ‘accommodations’ for any of the other ethnicities of New York State when THEY ‘arrived’? Why – for example, isn’t there a option for indigenous Mohawk and Seneca language on your site? After all, they were here first. Stop pandering to ‘Latinos’: stop ignoring US laws to aid these ILLEGALS. Doing so is defrauding the American people – plain and simple. That is not your job – nor what you were elected to do. Clearly, you have forgotten the oath you took when you were sworn into office; to serve the people of these United States – not those of some foreign country.

Furthermore, ‘We the People‘ want you to stop pushing for what you like to call “GUN CONTROL“. The second amendment has been under attack for 40 or more years. We are fed up with these partisan attacks. We know “GUN CONTROL is not about guns at all – is it? It’s about CONTROL – and we don’t want any part of it.

Senator, apparently you need to re-study the historical lesson of Herman Goering, who ‘managed‘ “control” so well, that he managed to get millions of people murdered for his boss Adolph Hitler because they couldn’t protect themselves after he did his dirty work – after he ‘registered’ and then collected all the guns in Germany. I would expect that you of all people sir, a man presumably of the Jewish faith, should have intuitively known that.

As a politician, you of all people should also be well aware of the principles of which this great country was founded, as well as its many laws – laws that by their very existence are intended to ensure the public safety. If you do not understand this, then you do not belong in the office you hold. I will remind you again that when you accepted your job you swore an oath to serve and protect AMERICAN CITIZENS and uphold the Constitution of the United States. This, in my humble opinion, you have not done.

I am weary of watching my hopes and dreams for the future fade along with America’s ‘economy’. I am weary of decades of deception, of partisan politics, of false truths, downright LIES and the stalling tactics of those supposedly elected to be ‘representing’ me from both political parties.

I have not been “represented” in decades!, and I have reached the end of my tolerance.

Government’s place is to serve, not to dictate or remove our rights. We want NO more of what people call “SOCIAL ENGINEERING” through legislation. No more ‘interpreting’ the Constitution as you see fit. It is NOT a “Living Document” as so many of you like to spin it. ‘We the People’ are still relatively free, and we do not care one bit for our ‘leaders’ “changing” our lives. Look what you politicians have done to our country in the last 30 or so years; our economy is wiped out – our Treasury is on shaky ground – even after you sold us out and borrowed billions from the Communist Chinese – we’ve got more crime, and there are no respectable jobs to be found anywhere. Stop meddling where you do not belong before there is no America left. Your job as our employee, is to manage our public affairs, not re-write our laws and ‘re-engineer’ our way of life.

This failure of the United States Government to manage the people’s affairs for the last 40 years or more has brought America to its knees economically – and in the eyes of the world. We have watched as our rights have been systematically eroded along with this failure. ‘Led’ for decades by incompetent ‘leaders’ government has shown it cannot balance a budget or even enforce the laws of public safety that ‘“We the People” paid dearly to have written – allegedly, to ‘protect’ us. In fact, most of the time, the House and Senate cannot even keep their own rank and file out of trouble and out of the news -let alone do any constructive work on our behalf. “We the People” have been taken to the cleaners – and in the purest sense – taking money for a service, then not delivering that service, is defined, in any dictionary you choose, as FRAUD. It is NO different than paying a roofer to ‘do’ your roof, and having him disappear overnight with all your money:

Because our government has failed us, it cannot even give us an accurate count of all the illegal aliens within our borders – ALIENS who threaten our way of life and DRAIN our public treasury. American taxpayers spend BILLIONS of dollars every year to manage and care for these law-breakers.

Recently, I read an estimate that each and every household in New York State alone spends over $875 a year on illegal invaders. It is said that based on 2006 estimates, the illegal alien population living in New York was costing taxpayers more than $5.1 billion per year for education, medical care and incarceration. THAT was 3 years ago Senator. No wonder that New York is nearly broke. So is California. So is the country – and government’s ‘fix’ is to borrow more money from the Communist Chinese? Wonderful. There are millions of these interlopers in this country with more arriving all the time. Many of them are not even ‘Latino’ in origin. We know too that there are those of you in ‘’leadership’ that allow them to walk among us – by ignoring laws that you wrote. Your motives may be arguable – the results are not. No doubt some unknown percentage of these invaders – mean to kill us. You are aware that the terrorists that attacked America on 9-11-01 were ALSO in this country illegally – are you not? Why wasn’t that ever addressed by those of you in Government? Worse yet, how many more just like them are among us right now? Not one of our ‘leaders,’ or our laughable ‘Department of ‘Homeland Security’ has any honest answers. Yet, there are many of you who are dying to pardon these invaders. Senator, have you ever heard the words “ROODS CREEK”?

As I understand it, this is the feeder wart for dozens of other ‘camps’ within our beloved country as I write this. I live less than 30 miles from this place. And yes, I am ‘extremely concerned’. Most aliens, I admit, are probably just Job-SEEKERS. But pardon me, have you noticed that they BROKE THE LAW entering our country?, -  or that no-one has given them a ‘background check’? (like government requires of every AMERICAN Gun buyer for example) – or, have you even noticed that America is in the middle of the ‘second great Depression’?

In late October, 2009 – government reported that 9.8% of AMERICANS were out of work. (By early November, it was announced that the number now exceeds 10.2% Ed.)What is not revealed is that this figure does not include millions of the nations UNDER-employed – and If we did count them (as they certainly should have been) – including those that gave up looking – why then, you will get an unemployment rate much closer to 17 percent. That’s SEVENTEEN PERCENT – and you sir, are working to give ‘amnesty’ to 17 million people who ‘slipped in under the fence’. All because you did not – or would not – authorize the enforcement of US Border and immigration laws? Haven’t you been working for the ‘wrong team’?

Maybe most Americans haven’t been paying attention Senator – but I have. Remember the above definition of ‘fraud‘? It appears to fit. I’m old, but I have a long memory; I remember when Congress last did an ALIEN amnesty. It was the 1980s, and I remember when Congress told us, “this will be the only time.” And as I recall, the original amnesty was to be for about a million people but turned out to be more than thrice that number – and it opened the floodgates for the invasion that has overtaken us today.

Excuse me, but this new round of political choreography and sleight-of-hand, has allowed each of you to violate your OATH of office to the people of this country – an oath in where you swore to uphold the laws of these United States, and to work for the AMERICAN people’s best interests. To add insult to injury (and that IS exactly what it is – an insult ) you would have ‘We the People’ surrender our right of self-defense – the RIGHT to keep and bear arms – and at the same time you want to turn loose these uncounted alien invaders among us? How DARE you Sir! This is not only preposterous, because you failed to protect us FROM the INVASION, it is also an infringement on our basic GOD-GIVEN right to self-defense. A natural law, a law NO man has a right to infringe upon.

“Gun-control” extremists constantly repeat the mantra “government will protect us”. Some might call that ‘spin’ – I call it what it is; hogwash. Government has never protected us – not from common criminals – or from the larger threat from those who brought this great country to the brink of economic ruin either. No, Senator, Police can never protect us since the Supreme Court decreed that “Police have no legal responsibility” to protect individual citizens, so it is impossible – and you know it! Police ‘investigate’ an ‘incident’ after it happens and write their report. But what good is a ‘report’ when the victim is dead? We the People are TIRED of being victims. We will NOT be victims. FREE citizens must always be prepared to protect themselves and their country. We choose to be armed because we understand the limitations and failures of government.

No less a patriot than George Washington had this to say: “A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.” Suzanna Gratia-Hupp learned that lesson all-too-well. And you should have as well. I watched the video where she testified before the panel that you sat on Senator, and I saw your face as she described the horror of seeing her parents assassinated right in front of her – all because she had left her defense in her car – as was then required of her by her government. And I was ashamed.

Thomas Jefferson understood; “Laws that forbid the carrying of arms… disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one,” – which is PRECISELY what happened to Ms. Hupp and her parents.

When bad guys commit a crime with a gun, politicians continually cry out for more restrictions on guns and gun owners. No sir, it is precisely then, that as Jefferson so ably put it, the honest citizen needs more access to firearms to protect himself and his loved ones – NOT less.

Therefore, be advised, ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ demand our RIGHT TO KEEP and BEAR ARMS be left alone. We have concluded that our government is incapable of doing the job of protecting us. Therefore, and as the great Thomas Jefferson counseled, we must be forever vigilant – ourselves. It is for this reason that not one word, not one period of the 2nd Amendment, ever be changed – by anyone – for any reason – Once and for all, forever!

And I will tell you this Senator, ‘IF‘ on September 11th 2001, there had been a few law-abiding ‘concealed carry’ gun owners aboard those airplanes that fateful morning – with their sidearms – I assure you that the outcome would have been very different. Over 3000 Americans lives could have been saved. Force is only STOPPED by force. And If that is not true, then why after that terrible day was FAA policy of on-board US Marshals and armed pilots initiated on U.S. airliners?

This is America, Land of the FREE. One does not remove the rights from one group of people because of the wrongdoing of others. You do not make good people suffer because of your inability to enforce the laws already on the books. ‘Government’ has shown us clearly – and all-too-often, that it has become bloated with incompetence, greed and corruption – causing those of you in it to forget your sworn purpose; to SERVE the people.

The flood of illegal drugs entering America, with the attending violence of Latina drug gangs that come with it, and the presence of MILLIONS of other UNIDENTIFIED ALIEN INVADERS endanger all Americans. Mexican Drug Cartels and their horrible murders are in the news nightly. Mexico is at the brink of total national collapse. Just recently ALIENS murdered a US Customs Agent investigating drug crime on US soil. This is just another example of why those of us that choose to do so will always reserve the right to defend ourselves and our country from harm from these and all other threats. It is the 2nd Amendment that secures and protects all our other rights as outlined in the Constitution and our Bill of Rights. These documents are the foundation and guide upon which our country’s freedom and way of life are guaranteed – or have you forgotten?

The founding fathers knew well the pressures these grand documents would face. That is why they made their intent crystal clear in them:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Senator, leave our Constitution alone. Follow it, and cherish it. But by all means, honor it, by reaffirming your Oath of Office to defend it against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. And finally, LEAD with it.

I say again; the Constitution is NOT a ‘living document’ to be changed at the will and whim of those in power at the moment, it is our national document of “self.” It is WHO we are. Either enforce the laws already in place, and represent “We The People” and I do mean – the AMERICAN People – or I will do everything in my power – to my very last breath – to expose you and your anti-American practices for what they are. And I will work tirelessly to defeat you at the polls on Election Day.

I’ll tell you what Senator – because I love my country so – I’ll give you a gift and you can take all the credit. It’s a marvelous plan really; instead of burning up your energy continually abusing our civil rights as you are inclined to do, use your clout instead to ‘fast-track’ a bill thru Congress that re-trains America’s 17% unemployed and under-employed to become ‘Alien Procurement Officers‘. Then hire them all as government contract workers on a commission basis – say at $100 a catch, – ‘per head’ so to speak, to round up the millions of economic invaders (that you not doubt, call ‘undocumented workers’) – that slipped through the holes in the six-year-late – Border Fence Project. Even if each of these new ‘APOs’ caught only one INVADER each at $100 a pop, we’d still be way ahead of where we are now – wouldn’t we Senator?

It’s a win-win deal; convert un-employed AMERICANS back into AMERICAN Tax-PAYERS – while at the same time, eliminate the threat to our children’s children’s employment prospects and way of life. Imagine, two MAJOR problems solved by just one Senator – like magic! Do that, and your name will go down in history as ‘THE’ guy who saved America’.
