Doug: Beware Sleeping Giants

touch_evil_02The following is in response to Ron Ewart’s column of November 1, 2009, Yes Virginia; There are true Americans, and has been written by the subject of said column,, and has ben submitted to the Federal Observer for your consideration. (Ed.)

Two interesting aspects of Amendment II are the events leading up to the time it was written in the Constitution.

One aspect is that the 2nd amendment is number two, it comes after the Freedom of worship, Freedom of speech and press, freedom to gather and seek petition for redress.

Liberty and freedom has to have a protector with vested interest in protecting those freedoms. Those protectors are the people themselves. This is a simple and totally effective.

The second aspect is very profound. Here where a group of political and military leaders who through use of arms overthrew and threw off the shackles of tyranny and repression. And with the stroke of a pen put to paper the law, that the very people who sought and won redress from these trespasses of liberty and self-determination, would enable future generations to do the same if this same government so created through use of arms trespassed on those same liberties and freedoms.

The ultimate of contradictions in terms is how people who benefit from and are protected by these first two Constitutional Amendments wish to take these freedoms away.

Looking at it from this perspective it is clear that only a dictator or one who seeks power over all and any would attempt to take these freedoms and liberties away from the rightful stewards.

Both philosophically and from Constitutional law everything in the 1st and 2nd Amendments are so closely intertwined and related they are for all intents and purposes one and the same. They are in this consideration bedfellows to all other laws concerning Liberties freedoms and self-determination in our governing documents.

If one is assaulted all are. If ones intent is to overthrow or usurp this Republic you have to destroy the 1st and 2nd Amendments to be successful.

This was no accident of brilliance by our founders. They knew all to well what revolution and overthrow is about.

The 1st Amendment is the wisdom behind the 2nd Amendment.

The 2nd Amendment is the power behind the 1st Amendment.

The 1st and 2nd amendments are ingrained instinct in every generation since established.

By instinct it refers to a basic sense or sense of justice and way of life. Ingrained refers to a collective sense of worth and place in ones Republic. It also is paradoxically reason for tolerance of trespasses and incursions on liberty and freedoms. But only up to a certain point. By its very nature the democratic process of Republic can healthily tolerate a level of intrusions on liberty and freedom. It has to be able to; nothing is perfect in design. The crux is the intent for a more perfect union of these tenets of life and the way of life governed by these tenets of Liberty and Freedom.

At a certain but not defined point there comes a turning point where trespasses on Liberty and Freedom cannot be tolerated. This is not meant to indicate individuals or groups, but a collective conciseness. It has a life of its own that is irresistible in its intent to create redress. This is revolution personified in Liberty minded peoples. It is a foe of usurpation so fierce as to have no equal in human events. Once aroused no quarter is granted or taken. The force behind it becomes so fierce and terrible as to be unstoppable until all redress’ are accomplished.

In the micro, there exists an underlying current of individual preparation and will of intent if required to fight with arms if needs be in the cause of redress to assure and retain Liberties and Freedoms.

This is where the most fundamental beliefs and generational ingrained instincts of Constitutional Republic reside.

Do not underestimate or discount, beware this sleeping giant of Liberty, Freedom, Self-Determination and Prosperity.

Once the Rubicon is crossed there is nothing on this earth but the good Lord himself that can contain.

Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death.

“Where once those embittered farmers stood and fired the Shot heard round the world!”
How soon their posterity has forgotten this and other events. May the Good Lord have mercy upon us all. hb
