Archive for August, 2009Nationalized Health Care – Count Dracula in Disguise
Our economy will suffer big time. Jobs will be lost in response to health-care penalties on small businesses. Small businesses will go out of business as nationalized health care picks winners and losers. Being “big” will get you an exemption, or outright favorable treatment. Ronald Reagan Speaks out on Socialized Medicine
Most of us in Hollywood are very well aware of the concept or the misconception that many people, our fellow citizens, have about people in show business. It was only a generation ago that people of my profession couldn’t be buried in the churchyard. Of course the world has improved since then, we can be buried now. As a matter of fact, the eagerness of somebody to perform that service gets frightening at times. Those who have stood…
As I was reading the article by Mike V that mentioned J.J. Johnson and the sniper gun aimed at J.J.’s back in the Macon GA fiasco… it reminded me of when I first really came across J.J. Johnson. It was his stand in Illinois when government thugs went after a woman named Shirley Allen in Roby, IL. (http://www.apfn.org/apfn/shirley_allen.htm) Old timers on WGEN will remember the almost hourly posts WGEN was sending out on the life threatening situation that the corrupt police chief Terrance Gainer led. He went on later to be promoted to the IL gangster political circles. The Land of STINKIN Slinkin. Mr. Ross writes to Washington….
NOTE: I don’t expect a reply, and I said as much. But this is going out to every office Feinstein occupies, by fax, e mail and snail mail. I have no vacation time to go to any town hall meetings, and none are scheduled in my area when I am off. So this is the best that I can do. (NR) Senator Feinstein, As your constituent, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on my concerns regarding HR 3200, the House version of a universal health care plan. In the past I have written to you on a wide range of subjects, from illegal immigration to second amendment rights. On those occasions I received the usual form letter that did little to address my specific questions and concerns. However, this time I believe that the importance of my questions deserve a more thoughtful, and specific reply. Fahrenheit 2750˚
It seems that Pat was upset over an article the Times ran last week about “the Birthers” being kooks instead of righteous citizens, holding our elected officials accountable for neglecting to uphold the rule of law that they so ardently profess when it comes to select interests. The St. Petersburg Times, tried to demonize the messengers of justice by arrogantly publishing a copy of Barack Obama’s Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth, which identification experts deemed to be a fraudulent document over one year ago. After years of “Liberal” claims that “white right-wing extremists” (which term includes about everyone of white complexion that may be characterized as a “conservative” or “not Liberal”) and Nazis are birds of feather, it was only a matter of time when the “Liberals” would denounce their opponents (in particular, Rush Limbaugh) for playing the Nazi card. And it did happen now. Don’t Take That Shot Without Reading This First
I’m curious. Has anyone really given any serious thought to these vaccinations they offer us? I mean, do any of you who take them know what’s in them? I could fill syringes with methamphetamines and offer free shots, saying they are good for you. Or worse, fill them with Liquid Plumber and offer them for free. I wonder how many people would line up to take them, just because they are free? Baroud: Gaza’s Kite Runners
This is hardly a cliché. People living under oppressive rules take every opportunity to express defiance, even through such symbolic ways. Ewart: Are They Running Scared?
Many have said that Obama is an intellectual genius, but his foreign and domestic decisions in the last six months tell a much different story. Caruba: I Accuse!
It is in this spirit that I issue my own version of “I Accuse.” You’re Not Gonna Stick Any Needle In Me!
We first began hearing about the Swine Flu in the April/May 2009 time period when it was reported that 168 people in Mexico had died from this strain of the flu. That number was later revised to 16, after it was found the others had died from other causes. Normally it takes between a year to a year and a half to develop a vaccine after a specific virus has been identified. Yet in May of 2009 the “seed culture” for the Swine Flu was given to pharmaceutical companies, and now Baxter International Inc. states that they will have a vaccine for the Swine Flu ready by the time the fall flu season breaks out. ‘The Axis of Idiots’
THEN you gave away Panama Canal: (for what?) convenience of Noriega and the drug runners? As if the Oil embargo wasn’t economically destructive enough! Bill Clinton, you played ring around the Lewinsky while the terrorists were at war with us. You got us into a fight with them in Somalia and then you ran from it. Sutton’s Law
President Obama’s feverish, and hysterical push to enact a Socialistic health care system is troublesome and scary. It seems appropriate to examine this scheme under “Sutton’s Law.” The term Sutton’s Law is derived from the late, infamous bank robber, and escape artist; Willie ‘The Actor’ Sutton, while being interviewed by reporter, Mitch Ohnstad… Someone Please Stop This Train, I Want Off
America is not going to vanish, it will still be on the maps. The difference will be that it will not be the America that our founders had hoped for, or the America that I grew up to love. You see, America was more than just another country, it was more than just a land vast land with bountiful resources. It was a place were people could live that was built on the principle of individual rights and liberty. In the movie Gladiator, starring Russell Crowe, there is a scene where the Emperor, Marcus Aurelius states to Maximus, “There was once a dream that was Rome. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper and it would vanish… it was so fragile.” Peasants with pitchforks and torches
To be sure, there is nothing particularly wrong with this scenario from a purely American point of view. Our Founders were convinced that once the citizens began to fear their government, the Republic was in deep trouble, and that elected representatives need to have a healthy fear of the electorate. It has been so long since elected officials in Washington were scared of the people that the present circumstances are bound to come as a shock. Ewart: It’s Not Obama’s Job!“The two enemies of the people are government and criminals, so let us tie the first one down with the chains of the constitution, so the first will not become the legalized version of the second.” Thomas Jefferson
The Israeli Conundrum: ‘How to Deal with Iran’
It must be frustrating for Israeli policymakers and their friends and backers elsewhere to stand idle as Iran openly carries on with its nuclear-enrichment program, facing nothing but United States and European chest-thumping and a mere threat of more sanctions, which will unlikely bend Iranian resolve. It’s doubly frustrating considering the relative ease that led the US, its timid coalition and Israeli cheerleaders to unleash a war against Iraq. Contract with your Doctor
