How many guns are in your house?
August 17, 2009 – When I got this from a reader and friend I had to call to see if this was *for real*.
Oh yes – it sure is and it happened in Phoenix which she said she forgot to mention.
This is most interesting and I am wondering of anyone else has had this kind of experience when they have called the police for anything.
Granny
Jackie,
My relative lives in Arizona. She has a friend, Susie, who, temporarily, is living with her grown son + his wife + children.
Susie has a freedom attitude. Her son does not and thinks his mother is rather”far out” nuts.
Here is what happened.
Susie went shopping. Her purse was stolen. She was very upset and went home.
Her son called police to report the theft and the when and where.
[Here is the very strange part.]
Susie hears her son on the phone with police dispatcher describing the theft………then answering very strange questions.
Do you have guns?
Yes I do.
How many guns?
Her son answers in full as to number of guns.
What kind of guns, hand or long guns?
Her son answers in full.
Where do you keep the guns?
Answer
Are the guns locked up?
Answer
There were more questions on that line and son answered every one. None of it had any thing to do with her stolen purse.
Then in a while cop came to door to meet Susie and discuss her purse. Then Susie started asking him ‘Why all the questions about guns? They had noting to do with my stolen purse’.
Susie says cop was a bit uncomfortable and embarrassed. Copp said “we need to know what we are walking in to”.
Susie told him the purse was stolen out of her car in another location so guns had nothing to do with it.
Then cop told her that dispatch has to ask those questions. They have a little list.
Then he admitted the list was a very recent development.
But he never said where/who it came from.
My question is:
Is this happening everywhere? Is this via DHS demand?
Has anyone else heard of this happening in their area?
I do not like the sound of it. Sounds like someone is taking inventory.

I had to call the Phoenix Pd around Labor Day 2008 to report a home burglary. The Police asked no such questions at that time.
It may be something that has been instituted since.
I would not answer any questions like those above.
By answering all of the questions posed by police, you are providing information, used in their Residential Database. Now when your address is put in their computer, they see you as “friendly, not hostile, to police), you have guns, and ammo, so they will use caution when knocking on your door.
