July 27, 2009 - Recently, on a trip to the heartland of America, I was privileged to meet and speak with hundreds of Americans of all walks of life.

The two gentleman pictured below, Thomas Franklin and Rufus Washington have been unemployed for nearly two years - each with families to feed, clothe, and house. Each of them voted for ‘the One,’ because they were of the belief that FINALLY - a man of color had been CHOSEN to lead them, and that he would CERTAINLY have compassion for his “bruthas and sistahs” and deliver them out of bondage. They now believe otherwise. As Washington stated, “Dis quarter-ofay mutha fuggah ain’t doin nuffin’ fo’ me, an’ I don’t beleeb he will! Himz be jes lahkes dem otha two Toms, de Revrun’s Sharpton an’ Jackson - jes lookin’ out foin demselves. Dey ain’t no chance foin dis nation wif da Kenyan. Send himz back to wheyze he beez frum. Deyze would all be doin’ us a favor.”

“Sey, looka heah, whe’ze de birf c’tif’cate any-wayze? Dis jive turkey be shinin’ sumthin’ on - an’ dis brutha ain’t buyin’ datz shitz no’ mo’!”

“De problem beez, who gwine replace himz azz? De notha man wif de mouf? Himz sho nuff ain’t no bettah. Himz be tellin’ de medium datz himz be da fuss Negro Vice President. What kind ob jive-azz boolshitz datz be? Denz, you gotz de loud mouf Mammy frumz California. She ain’t nuffin’ but a cracker, Aunt Jemima and datz don’t leeb us no choices!”

“We beez in a world of shitz! I be hopin’ De Lawd gwine deliber us soon enuffs. I’ze reddy to be gwine home.”

“Kin you gitz me seben tickets back to MIssissippi? I done had enuff ob’ dis jive!”

Fo demz ob you datz ain’t figured it out yet, dis be  S - A - T - T - I - R - E! But it sho’ nuff be some sick reality. Even da bruthas be smellin’ some shit!
