Here is an example of why hiring illegal aliens is not economically productive for the State of California … but then, why should this be restricted to the Land of Fruits and Nuts?
You have 2 families…”Joe Legal” and “Jose Illegal”.
Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California …
“Joe Legal” works in construction, has a Social Security Number, and makes $25.00 per hour with payroll taxes deducted….”Jose Illegal” also works in construction, has “NO” (legitimate) Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash “under the table”.
Joe Legal makes $25.00 per hour x 40 hours, which is $1000.00 per week, $52,000 per year. Take 30% away for state and federal taxes – Joe Legal now has $31,231.00
Jose Illegal makes $15.00 per hour x 40 hours, which is $600.00 per week, $31,200.00 per year – Jose Illegal pays no taxes….. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00
Joe Legal pays Medical and Dental Insurance with limited Coverage of $1000.00 per month – $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $19,231.00
Jose Illegal has full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal makes too much money is not eligible for Food Stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays for food – $1,000.00 per month – $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $ 7,231.00
Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00
Joe Legal pays rent of $1,000.00 per month – $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal is now in the hole… Minus (-) $4,769.00
Jose Illegal receives a $500 per month Federal rent subsidy. Jose Illegal pays rent – $500.00 per month – $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $25,200.00
Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part-time job after work.
Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.
Joe Legal’s and Jose Illegal’s children both attend the same school. Joe Legal pays for his children’s lunches while Jose Illegal’s children get a government sponsored lunch.
Jose Illegal’s children have an after school ESL Program. Joe Legal’s children go home.
Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services, but Joe paid for them and Jose did not pay.
Don’t vote/support any politician that supports illegal Aliens.

OKAY OKAY… enough with the “illegal’s are not eligible for services”. What you fail to understand is that the children BORN of illegal aliens ARE entitled to all of the above and more. The more children you have, the more SERVICES you are given. See the problem here? Why do you think Mexicans here in the states have so many children? They learned how to game the system generations ago. Mexico even offers classes to those attempting to enter here illegally on how to maximize our welfare system. Sheesh… Ignorance really bothers me!
Wow, I’m not exactly in favor of amnesty, but I fail to see how publishing untruths and half-truths helps the cause.
Even my 5th graders (no kidding- are YOU smarter than a 5th grader?) could find one big goof in this treatise- a family making $52K will not pay anywhere close to 30% of their income in taxes. We calculated out (using basic numbers and standard deductions) that a family with 3 kids making $50K would pay NO FEDERAL TAXES and actually get back money they had not put in. Joe Legal’s family might have to pay a little something, considering there are also state taxes to reckon with, but it would be more like 10-15% total.
Gee Dave, maybe it’s because, although they are illegal, maybe they just don’t commit the crimes, which the single largest group of illegals commit. Maybe those from South of the Border are somewhat more high profile…
Also, maybe you don’t live in the parts of the country where many of those from South of the Border – who, by breaking and entering our nation in the manner in which they did – continue to abuse our “hospitality.”
Odd…You never hear about “illegal” immigrants from…say…Canada…or England…Could that be because they have “white” faces…? Just asking…
I hope common sense doesn’t confuse you so here goes… 95% of the illegal aliens here in California are from Mexico and South America. That means 95% of the illegal aliens will have “brown” faces. Is that racist? No. It’s a fact and it is also a MAJOR problem here not only in cost to support them, but public safety because of crime and gangs.

You are absolutely correct – except that – it is exactly what is happening in this nation. You are correct, when you say, “Illegal immigrants are not eligible for ANY of the services listed…”
“Not eligible” are the key words, but it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. I live in Arizona, and it is happening everyday. 25% of my grandchildren’s school empties out for over a month each year during the Christmas holiday season, so that her friends (most of whom get subsidized lunches, and more) can “go home.”
When I was a child, going home was usually not more than a few blocks from school – not across the border into another country.
Right now, as we speak, the Arizona courts are filled with such cases – and they can’t be handled fast enough.
Don’t let your opinion get in the way of the facts.
Wow that would be shocking if it were even slightly factually accurate…which it’s not. Illegal immigrants are not eligible for ANY of the services listed there, from food stamps to subsidized rent to free health insurance to free school lunches.
