How pathetic that once-proud and self-reliant Americans continue to fall into the trap that government camouflages in the shadows of the public treasury, in its quest for absolute power over all the people. How naive and ignorant we are to succumb to the siren call of “free” government money, handouts and subsidies, while ignoring the “strings” that come with the so-called “gifts”. We have fallen into the bottomless pit of irrational greed and in the process, have abdicated our individual rights and freedom for a few pieces of silver. June 14, 2009 – From time to time, events unfold that are so large in scope, so all-encompassing in their implications that one’s initial response is muted by an inability to categorize it all within the realm of experience. Previous reference points prove of little service. One’s image of oneself and one’s place in the world is under seize, perhaps even in danger of being torn away. Most Americans believe that trillions of dollars are being wasted on a ”Stimulus Package” that makes no sense, instead of just using our long established Bankruptcy Courts that have successfully saved or liquidated any troubled companies in the past.
Most of our present financial problems were caused by government interference, and now our bungling government solutions will only make these problems worse.

On June 9, the Associated Press reported, “President Barack Obama on Tuesday proposed budget rules that would allow Congress to borrow tens of billions of dollars and put the nation deeper in debt to jump-start the administration’s emerging health care overhaul.”
Since the stealth heathcare “reform” that Bill and Hillary Clinton tried to foist on Americans during the 1993-94 Congress, this “crisis” has been off the radar screen of Americans who have the audacity to think they should decide whether and how much health insurance they want and to expect healthcare that is not rationed on the basis of how old they are and other factors determined by some faceless government bureaucrat.
June 14, 2009 – Most liberals regard illegal aliens as “Undocumented Democrats” and a veritable gold mine of opportunity for holding on to political power by coddling to those here unlawfully.
For that reason, most Democrat politicians have abandoned patriotic concern about homeland security, the rule of law, stability of the American economy and social order, and preservation of American language and culture.
In fact, one can search high and low for a liberal with a patriotic, pro-America stance on illegal immigration, and that search will usually be futile.

Wednesday started out as a routine day in the U.S. Congress, with Representatives attending congressional hearings, meeting with constituents, perhaps devising clever new ways to pick our pockets.
At 8:30 in the morning an email went out to House Republicans indicating that a gun control bill, recently introduced by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), was on the Suspension Calendar (normally reserved for “non-controversial” bills).

Predictions differ, depending on one’s perspective, as to whether this will be a socialistic paradise or asocialistic hell. Time will tell. In the meantime, we’d do well to listen to warnings from the past.
