Ewart: We Must Tame the Lion!

ewart_blogApril 19, 2009Every intelligent person knows that one man is no match for a lion, but one man with a whip and a gun can tame one lion, provided the lion doesn’t eat him first.  The “lion” we face now, that out-of-control, arrogant, American government, the news media and all the leftist groups that support our current government, are about to consume all of us who cherish our liberty.  That government (the lion) has turned the tables on free Americans and put them in a cage, while the “lion” dances with glee on the outside.  The door is open to the cage we are in now, but that door is about to slam shut, if we don’t block it and then immediately widen the opening for our escape.  The ”lion” means business and it is fully committed to enslaving the people.  The gloves must come off.  We can’t pussy-foot around any more.   It is long past time for making nice.

Ewart: Tax Day – A Government Perpetrated Colonoscopy!

postman_ewartApril 15, 2009 - What’s the difference between an IRS audit and a Colonoscopy? Nothing! You are getting reamed in either case.

If you have neither experienced an IRS audit, or a colonoscopy, your path through American life is incomplete. This author has experienced both. In the case of the former, it cost our company $15,000 and the rationale for the charge was shaky at best. And the devious methods the two little beady-eyed agents used to extract the $15,000, had all the earmarks of the German Gestapo. When we approached an attorney to protest the charge, we were told that it would cost way more than $15,000 to take the IRS to court and we could very easily lose. Discretion being the better part of valor, we paid the charge under protest. A lot of good that did!

When Will America Have Had enough?

stuter_thumbApril 14, 2009Fifteen years ago when I tried to tell people where the transformation of America was heading, I either got this “deer in the headlights” look of “I don’t care … don’t bother me … I don’t want to know” or people laughed and said, “that’ll never happen because the American people won’t let it!”

On November 4, 2008, sixty-six million Americans let it happen; they voted for a candidate they knew absolutely nothing about; they voted their feelings for a man who has great voice inflection and tone but who, in reality, said absolutely nothing of substance, and certainly nothing that would tell anyone who he was and is.

Today, the United States of America lays in shambles. In 77 days since usurping the Oval Office, the Also Known As (AKA) Obama Administration has done more damage to this nation than any president before him.

Recession or Depression? A guide to terms

opinion_blogApril 13, 2009 - On a recent radio call-in show, an economist used the terms “recession” and “financial crisis.” A caller asked, “Well, just what is the difference?”

There is a difference, but confusion is understandable, especially when economists and others switch between terms that are not well understood by the public.

Ewart: Will We Wait Until It is Too Late?

thumbs_upApril 13, 2009 - Yes, America is a nation of heroes and Captain Phillips of the Maersk Alabama is our most recent brave American pressed into service when the forces of incarnate evil threatened his ship and the ship’s crew. And yes, his heroism was punctuated by the highly-trained heroes on board the U. S. S Bainbridge who in an instant, took advantage of a split-second opportunity when Captain Phillips risked his life and jumped overboard, for the second time, killed 3 of the pirates on board the little life boat and captured the 4th. Let us not forget the courageous crew of the Maersk Alabama whose bravery thwarted a full take over of the ship by the pirates. A happy ending to an all-too-often event that is dismally short of happy endings.

When the Inmates are in Charge

island_earth_thumbApril 12, 2009 - If you ever wondered what it would be like if seriously deranged people were close to the seat of power in America, you can stop wondering.

In January, the Competitive Enterprise Institute issued a three-page memorandum. William Yeatman, the author of the memorandum, had serious concerns about the nomination of Dr. John P. Holdren to be the White House Science Adviser.

This position heads the Office of Science and Technology Policy which, in official lingo, “serves as a source of scientific and technological analysis and judgment for the President with respect to major policies, plans and programs of the Federal Government.”

A Case Of Mistaken Identity

ross_neal_0808April 12, 2009 - I have gotten pretty used to driving around and seeing those patriotic stickers on the backs of people’s vehicles. Usually they’ll say something like, “Proud To Be An American”, or “Support Our Troops.” However, the other day I saw a combination of stickers that made me ask myself, “What the hell?”

This particular vehicle had one sticker that said “Patriotic American” right next to an Obama for President bumper sticker. I would have liked to ask that person how they could call themselves a patriotic American, yet still support Obama. To say that those two stickers, side by side, were an oxymoron is probably the understatement of the year.

Ewart: Exploiting the Prevailing Insanity

postman_ewartApril 8, 2009 - Many years ago, actually in April of 1954, in my home town of Seattle, Washington, before the liberal socio-virus had infected the entire city and now the whole state, we experienced a phenomenon known as the pitted windshield mystery.  It seems, upon close inspection, everyone’s car windshield had tiny pits in them, or so they thought.  It started up north in the state and rapidly spread to the big city of Seattle within a week.  The print and radio news media (not much television then) picked it up and suddenly, out of no where, there was a full-blown feeding frenzy on what was causing the pits.  From cosmic radiation, to sand fleas, to extra terrestrial microscopic invasions, to the Navy’s new million-watt transmitter, to micro-organisms that ate glass, to a shift in the Earth’s magnetic field, there was no answer to the mystery that was too bizarre.  The event was a text book case of mass hysteria, or collective delusion, aided and abetted by a willing news media.

Stuter: A Man Exposed

obamathon_thumbApril 7, 2009The American people watched this week as Also Known As (AKA) Obama and his entourage jetted off to Europe for the first time since his usurpation of the Oval Office on January 20, 2009.

Continuing to show his lack of decorum (deliberate or otherwise), AKA made plain, for all to see, that he is sadly out of his element.  Pictures have surfaced of him bowing before the Saudi king, a breach of decorum and his station, putting both his hands on the Queen of England, a breach of decorum, and his wife actually standing with her arm around the Queen, another breach of decorum.
