April 19, 2009 - Unlike the Erich Segal novel of the late 1960’s, this is not a ‘Love Story’, but one of a love gone bad – or at least out of lust.

Having recently returned from a trip to North Carolina, I begin to have a different perspective on the issues of the day, but first, I must return to history to establish my current mental status.

I have spent most of my life (since the 5th grade) reading and studying history – chiefly that of America. ’America’! What a beautiful land, comprised of mostly beautiful people of vast lands and cultures. A place where people dreamed of, but of a single word, ‘Freedom.’ The Grand Experiment, where all could come to live their dreams of opportunity and the rights to free speech, freedom of religion and so much more.

During the Clinton Administration, an ailing Federal agency (BATF) was searching for a cause to keep them funded.

They found the perfect publicity stunt with a raid on a bunch of harmless religious people called, “The Branch Davidians,” down in Waco, Texas.

Their leader, David Koresh, was a licensed gun dealer, as well as minister of the church. The BATF agents could have arrested Mr. Koresh anytime on his way to or from town while he was alone, but they decided to make an international scene out of a routine subpoena serving.

On a Sunday morning while the Davidian’s were all praying nice in their church, a group of BATF agents called the media and alerted them to a raid on a bunch of extremists at Mt. Carmel, their church. They told the media that the Davidian’s were a cult of radical extremists that had to be dealt with.

April 19, 2009 – I am almost certain that a good number of people are under the impression that I am some sort of conspiracy nut, akin to the character played by Mel Gibson in the movie entitled, Conspiracy Theory.

While many of the subjects I discuss may sound far fetched, so did those who proposed that man would one day fly, or walk on the moon. So, only time will tell who is right when it comes to my so called conspiracies.

However, there is something I would like for everyone to consider, and it is extremely important that you do so. In asking this of each of you, I am asking that you put aside your personal political beliefs, and just consider the facts. In short, I am asking you to think on your own, if only for a few minutes.

Patriot’s Day: April 19, 2009 - The Constitution for the United States of America is an amazing document. In its entirety it is only four pages long, hand written on parchment, measuring 28 3/4 by 23 5/8 inches, having a grand total of 4,543 words, if you include the signatures of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention.

Yet in under 5000 words, the drafters of this document outlined an entire system of government. If you ask me, that is a pretty incredible accomplishment for a document that contains so few words. Compare that to the very first Harry Potter book, which contains 76,944 words.

April 19, 2009 - When one speaks of or advocates non-violence, does he promote such an idea because he believes that historically it has been a more effective means of liberation, or is it purely because he thinks that it is a more self-respecting means of struggle?

In recent history, many advocates of non-violence have been celebrated as modern day icons. From Ghandi to King, songs are written in their honor, their life stories fill the pages of our children’s history volumes as noble examples of which everyone must aspire to emulate. Holidays are instituted in their honor and around the world; streets and boulevards carry their namesake.

April 19, 2009 – On this day, Patriot’s Day 2009, it is worth reaching back into the archives to see what “The Powers That Be” put to paper, nearly a dozen years ago (that’s ’12′ years for those who do not understand).

Given the fact, that just days ago, “The Apologizer” known as ‘AKA,’ ‘the Usurper,’ ‘The One,’ etc., etc., was in Mexico City, meeting with his counterparts there, and putting a show regarding the trade of illicit weapons by Drug Cartels – it made me wonder, “Aren’t there already laws on the books to deal with these very issues?” But of course there are, but…. What is the REAL agenda??? And who better to sell this line of reasoning once again, but one Barack Hussein Obama?

April 19, 2009 - Often our “newspapers” tell us that Americans want higher taxes because of their insatiable demand for government services.

That reminds me of a band that plays several George Strait songs in a row while claiming the audience “requested” those songs, even though nobody requested them. The band just has a favored music “agenda.”

There is a trash heap near my south-Texas residence for which I made the rare move of actually asking for a government service­requesting that the trash, which started as discarded branches, furniture pieces and even an old console TV, be hauled away because it was heaped along the street in an undesignated area. Soon, the pile included smelly household trash that blew all over the neighborhood.

April 19, 2009 - What does it take to be a dedicated environmentalist—a Green—these days?

“The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.” An example would be a belief in “global warming” despite the fact that the planet has been cooling for a decade.

“To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed.” This describes anyone who says that carbon dioxide, CO2, is responsible for a warming that is not occurring or that this gas could cause it.

April 19, 2009 - Who imagined that in 2009, the world’s governments would be declaring a new War on Pirates? As you read this, the British Royal Navy – backed by the ships of more than two dozen nations, from the US to China – is sailing into Somalian waters to take on men we still picture as parrot-on-the-shoulder pantomime villains. They will soon be fighting Somalian ships and even chasing the pirates onto land, into one of the most broken countries on earth. But behind the arrr-me-hearties oddness of this tale, there is an untold scandal. The people our governments are labeling as “one of the great menace of our times” have an extraordinary story to tell — and some justice on their side.
