The Greens Hate Energy, America, and You!

opinion_blogMarch 16, 2009I doubt that most Americans have a clue what the leading Green organizations like Friends of the Earth and the Sierra Club have as their agenda for 2009. They have already made it known their members, so I will share it with you.

There are literally dozens of these groups in the United States and each has their own particular focus of attention, but the largest among them play well together in the giant sandbox of Green utopian fantasies. That’s why both FOE and Sierra Club announced they are looking forward to “a clean slate” from the Obama administration.

Bring ‘em to Justice!

biesada_thumb_newThe Ides of MarchThis stuff is getting out of control!

Where’s George Bush?

Where’s Henry Paulson … or for that matter, Robert Rubin, the bankster who fiddled around with CitiBank’s books, since the Obama Gang rode into town seizing power and instilling fear?

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize that there is a plot to destroy America, and it has been going on covertly for years.

Ewart: The American Sheep and Cattle Company

ewart_blogThe Ides of MarchAre we like deer in the headlights?  Are we rats in a cage?  Are we boxed in a corner with no escape?  Are we Lemmings being driven over the proverbial cliff by a bunch of hounds?  Are we trapped in a dead-end tunnel with wolves at our heels, being driven back into the deadly trap of slavery or worse, oblivion?  Or, are we nothing but sheep and cattle to be herded, roped, and branded by government “wranglers” and then fattened up for market?

How many lies and propaganda will we absorb before we shine the brilliant light of freedom and truth on the evil doers who would enslave us?  How many articles do we have to read about government’s attempt to destroy our Republic, before we say not “NO”, but “HELL NO“?

Why ‘delinquent dads’ flee

guest_thumb_1March 14, 2009Recently, the Massachusetts Department of Revenue issued its “10 Most Wanted” for fathers delinquent in child support arrears who cannot be found. How can a man end up in such a situation?

In the 19th century, not only was divorce so socially stigmatizing that few wanted it, those very few who were sued for divorce had two valuable protections: (1) you had to demonstrate extreme abuse or adultery (for which you were not equally culpable) and (2) you had to convince a jury of this fact. It was believed that marriage constituted a sacred contract, and that the government dissolution of that contract should only be for extreme cause. This was thought morally necessary because the losing party might suffer loss of custody of the child and have the duty to support the other spouse; the idea of imposing financial awards or awarding custody to the spouse at fault was considered immoral.

Senator Feingold Has Constitutional Opportunity

eye_on_america_newMarch 14, 2009Like others promoting constitutional amendments, Senator Russ Feingold, Democrat, Wisconsin, apparently is unaware of the refusal by Congress to obey Article V of the Constitution.  He has a fine idea: every senator must actually be elected rather than appointed to that position.  In 1913 the 17th amendment created the potential for governors to make appointments to fill Senate seats until the next regular scheduled general election and 38 states allow this; there have been 185 such appointments.  Feingold is right to condemn “decisions being made solely by the powerful, without the consent, or even the input, of the people.”

Congress is unlikely to propose the desired new amendment, however.  All of the existing constitutional amendments were proposed by Congress.  But many worthwhile ones have never been proposed and sent to the states for ratification.  There is an alternative.  Article V provides a convention route for proposing amendments.  Interest in amendments has triggered over 700 applications from state legislatures to Congress for a convention of state delegates that could propose constitutional amendments.  However an amendment is proposed, it still must be ratified by three fourths of the states and the constitutional limitations on Congress limiting it to propose amendments to our present constitution equally apply to a convention.

Obama Is Driving A Wedge Straight Through American Society!

breech_thumb_newMarch 14, 2009 – Is this what is meant by “divide and conquer?

A wise man once said: “Freedom stands on five boxes: The Soap Box, The Ballot Box, the Jury Box, the Witness Box, and… the Cartridge Box.

Just as so many of us predicted, gun sales and ammo sales are going through the roof in America. It did not take the use of my crystal ball to foretell this on-going event.  All it took was a wee bit of common sense and paying attention to the world around me.

I Need To Get Something Off My Chest

founders_thumb[Editor's NOTE: Mr. Ross has been keeping quite busy this week. Suffice it to say, he is more than a wee-bit upset.]

(Authors NOTE: This is more a personal rant than an article, therefore there may be some stronger language, and might not seem like the typical articles I put out.)

March 14, 2009 As anyone who frequently reads my articles know, I try to stick to facts, and in so doing, prove that our government has, and continues to abuse the powers granted them by our Constitution.

However, this little commentary is aimed directly at the people of this country. There are those, who after reading it, who will know that in no way were my comments aimed at them. For the rest, as the beer commercial used to say, “This Bud’s for you!”

Natural Global Warmings Have Become More Moderate

mansions_thumb_2March 13, 2009This week, at the 2nd international conference of man-made warming skeptics sponsored by the Heartland Institute in New York, I’ll predict the earth’s warming/cooling trends for the 21st century.

I will be among splendid company such as John Coleman, founder of the weather channel, Ross McKitrick, who debunked the “hockey stick” study, physicist Willie Soon, and many other presenters with brilliant credentials. A thousand scientists, economists, and skeptics from every walk of life will meet to discuss the current climate indicators.

Durban II: Politicizing Racism

israel_thumb_new_1March 13, 2009Many countries are set to participate in the Conference against Racism, scheduled to be held in Geneva, April 20-25. But the highly touted international meet is already marred with disagreement after Israel, the United States and other countries decided not to participate. Although the abstention of four or more countries is immaterial to the proceedings, the US decision in particular was meant to render the conference ‘controversial’, at best.

The US government’s provoking stance is not new, but a repetition of another fiasco which took place in Durban, South Africa in 2001.

Ewart: Who Are These People?

ewart_blogWho are these people?  If a foreign enemy wanted to do America in as a sovereign nation, what better way to do it than to do it from within, without a shot being fired?  What better way could there possibly be to destroy a country than by using the political power of those in power?  Who could have devised such a diabolical plot to render impotent the most powerful nation on earth, than through the evil combination of Obama, Pelosi, Reid and what appear to be the traitors that follow them?  Who could put their hand on the Bible and swear on oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and then set about to dismantle the very foundations of our freedom contained in the document they swore to uphold?   What explanation for this seeming contradiction, can there be?

Sometimes The Things People Say Astound Me

ross_neal_0808March 12, 2009In disseminating my articles, particularly those which deal with the specific powers granted our government by the Constitution, I am often told that our Constitution is irrelevant in our modern world.

Today, I heard a few new ones. I received an e-mail from one of my readers in which he told me of how a family member had told him that, “The Constitution is naive, quaint, unreasonable, impractical, and out of date for our modern times.”

When I hear people talk like that, I have to ask myself, do they really understand the purpose of the Constitution?

Allow Me To Explain A Few Things About Rights And Liberty

“Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?”

founders_thumbNo matter how hard I try, which words I choose, it just seems that some people do not understand the concept of unalienable rights, as proclaimed in our nation’s Declaration of Independence.

People hear me use the terms rights, and liberty, and they assume that I am speaking of the same thing. They are wrong in their assumptions, for rights and liberty are not the same thing.

Thus Speaketh the Trees

gantry_thumb_newLooking out from the patio, my eye caught two trees not far away. We knew one another well, these trees and I. For the past fifteen years we have known one another, so I thought it odd my eyes should single them out on this particular day. It was as if they were calling out to me, beckoning my full attention. Not resisting their irresistible pull for my attention, I began observing them closely in an attempt to determine what they were trying to get me to see. It wasn’t long until it dawned on me.

These trees saw my plight and wanted to share with me, what they could, the things I needed to get back on the right track again, for I had strayed away from the path I once knew was right. Intuitively I knew that these trees had the remedy for the present woes of both the nation and its people. Somehow, I knew if I could hear and understood their message, then the once great America with its people would have another chance. I also knew that if their message could not be heard or heeded by us then the once great America would continue to sink further into the fiery abyss of darkness with no hope of ever escaping.

Is It Decision Time Yet?

ross_neal_0808As our nation began its struggle for independence and sought its own identity, our founding fathers left behind a vast treasure trove of thoughts with which to guide posterity. While our founders have long since passed away, their thoughts still echo across time for all who would care to listen.

Regrettably for our us, their thoughts have faded into obscurity. They have become meaningless words, uttered by men whose names have long since been forgotten. While many may recall the names of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, I would be willing to bet that a good many people would be unable to quote Patrick Henry, Daniel Webster, John Adams, Henry Clay, or even the father of our constitution, James Madison.

Four Integrity Tests for President Obama

touch_evil_blogA great smile does not make a truth teller.  A talker of change does not define a reformer.  Make no mistake, for the good of the nation I want President Obama to succeed in getting us out of the scandalous economic meltdown we are immersed in.  But I do not like many of his actions, policies and strategies for accomplishing this, nor does the stock market.

I always had my doubts that he was a true agent of change and reformer when it came to the structure of the political and government system.  He took an awful lot of money from the very rich and powerful in his campaign.  Sure, with his superb speaking skills he has the capacity to win public approval, but most Americans are not deep, critical thinkers, nor do most have the best detailed information.  What if he is just another untrustworthy politician?  What if he does not keep his promises?  With these questions in mind, I have examined four areas where I find President Obama’s behavior disappointing.

Saving the Earth?

mansions_thumb_2Every time I hear someone say something about “saving the Earth” I want to say, “Are you out of your mind?”

The Earth is some 4.5 billion—that’s billion with a b—years old. How did it ever manage to exist without us? How did it survive ice ages, meteor impacts, and all the other stuff that went on before homo sapiens decided to climb down out of the trees and walk upright?

Global Warming: “Bait-and-Switch”

guest_thumb_1Scientific “consensus” and other shady sales tactics promote alarmist theories

Fred Schwindel’s TV City ad promises 40” flat screen televisions for $200. You rush to his store, to learn he’s “fresh out” – but has some 42” models for $1000.

That’s “bait-and-switch,” and Fred could be prosecuted for consumer fraud.
In the political arena, however, bait-and-switch is often rewarded, not punished – especially in the case of global warming alarmism. Instead of fines or jail time, politicos get committee chairs, presidencies, speaking fees and Nobel Prizes. Scientists and bureaucrats receive paychecks, research grants and travel stipends for Bali. Activists get secretive government payments for “public education” campaigns. Companies get government contracts, subsidies and seats at the bargaining table. And all are lionized or canonized for supporting Climageddon theories and policies.

Was Hamas the Work of the Israeli Mossad?

israel_thumb_new_1While various Western governments are struggling to define a possible relationship with the Palestinian movement Hamas, some progressive and leftist circles are also uneasy regarding their own perception of the Islamic movement.

Some have even made the claim that Hamas is, more or less, an Israeli concoction. In fact, the accusation that Hamas was created by Israeli intelligence has become so commonplace that it often requires no serious substantiation. While the claim, as it stands, is erroneous, there is certainly a reason and history behind it. But was Hamas, in fact the work of the Israeli Mossad?

Return to Waterworld

sunset_thumb_newWhat if the legendary flop were an eco-parable whose message was ahead of its time?

To rerelease Waterworld today on DVD takes daring; to market it as a “2-Disc Extended Edition” surely takes recklessness. Was the original, 136-minute theatrical cut not sufficiently extended? Wasn’t everything about the film’s production miserably drawn out? Its then-record expenditure (about $200 million); its feuding between Kevin Costner and director Kevin Reynolds; its troubled, interminable, on-location-in-the-Pacific shoot? Even before the film hit theaters, the press had dubbed it “Kevin’s Gate” and “Fishtar.” It failed miserably in the domestic box office (though it eventually recouped its losses in the foreign market). A few years ago, the film served as the subject (together with The Postman) of a chapter in Fiasco: A History of Hollywood’s Iconic Flops.

Divorce Agreement

point_blank_blogMarch 6, 2009Submitted to the Federal Observer, by frequent contibutor, Roderick T. Beaman, who states, “This is so incredibly well put and I can hardly believe it’s by a young person, a student!!! Whatever he runs for, I’ll vote for him. I received this and all I can say is ha, ha ha.  Clever.”

Every government official should go to bed at night afraid that when he awakens in the morning that there will be an angry mob outside his house waiting to shoot or hang him.
