Stier: Congress Has Lost It’s Way

visas_blogMarch 16, 2009 - Every day American Citizens are bombarded with news of actions (and inactions) by Congress that are counter to everything that we elected and expected them to do. Both House and Senate members persist in making decisions, or not making decisions, that are outrageous and show a complete lack of common sense.  Recent actions substantiate that a majority of the United States Congress has lost its way and is unable to effectively serve the people it is supposed to represent.

A prime example of what I am talking about is the recent decision to “table” the E-Verify Amendment (S.AMDT.604 to H.R. 1105) put forth by Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) which would have extended the pilot program for employment eligibility confirmation established in title IV of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1966 for 6 years.

The Amendment was tabled by the Democrat Controlled Senate, headed by Harry Reid, on a vote in which 50 Senators voted in favor of continued protections for illegal alien workers. The arrogance displayed by these 50 Senators and their demonstrated lack of concern for American workers is astounding! They should be ashamed to be called United States Senator.

E-Verify helps prevent illegal alien laborers, who use stolen Social Security Numbers and false Identification, from obtaining employment with criminal Un-American businesses which exploit the cheap illegal alien labor pool. Why would anyone in government, with even a speck of brain power, be against this?  America deserves an explanation from each of these Senators.  What were they thinking?

Seven Democrats set party politics aside and joined the 40 Republicans in supporting jobless American workers: They are Bayh of Indiana, Klobuchar of Minnesota, McCaskill of Missouri, Baucus and Tester of Montana, Nelson of Nebraska and Webb of Virginia. (Note: Sen. Kennedy of Massachusetts didn’t vote because of illness. However, we all know where he stands if he had voted!). We should applaud these individuals who represented American workers and set party politics aside. In the end, they reluctantly represented their constituents.

The E-Verify program is a proven system of identification and works in favor of American Citizens and American workers. E-Verify has been successfully implemented in several states with various levels of verification and implementation time schedules. Leading the full implementation, for all employers, was Arizona, with South Carolina and Mississippi also passing state laws requiring full implementation by 2010 and 2011 respectively. Many other states are following suit and have E-Verify laws on the books or in process.

States must not wait for Congress to pass laws that are in the best interests of their citizens. The Congress proved again that they are ineffective and do not represent the best interests of the people they (are supposed to) serve. Individual States must now take the initiative to protect American Citizens.

What this decision also illustrates is that Congress is so tied up in partisan politics that they are unable to function in the best interest of the people and have essentially lost their way. Until Harry Reid (U.S. Senate Majority Leader) and Nancy Pelosi (Speaker of the United States House of Representatives) are removed from these powerful positions and replaced with responsible representatives of America, Congress will continue on its self-destructive decline.535-no_balls1

The 110th Congress was the most do-nothing Congress in history and had the lowest approval ratings since Congressional performance was tracked in the 1970s. American Citizens no longer have any faith that Congressional members will do as they are expected to do. And, because the 111th Congress is already following in the footsteps of the 110th, with 2 years to go, American Citizens must focus their attention on State and Local Government to enact laws that do not endanger American values and protect American Citizens. The U.S. Congress is NOT looking out for you!

E-Verify is not that hard to understand, even for a simpleton Senator. The Senate vote, to table this Amendment, is very illustrative of why states must act on their own to protect their citizens and workers. Congress can no longer function intelligently, effectively or efficiently because of their leadership and party politics.

In the case of E-Verify, 50 Senators proved to America that they are politically inept, morally and ethically corrupt and fail to support and work for the people who “hired” them to represent American Workers interests. These people in Congress have been dragging their feet for years and the states have been bearing brunt of the effects of their abuse of power, their neglect and inability to represent us fairly and protect us.

It is time for the States to take the reigns and ride on by this Congress that has lost its way!

    To Bobby and DeportH1BNow,
Here are some excerpts from a message I just sent to another friend and reader:

“We really do fear what this socialist/communist regime that is in power will do to US in the next 4 years. Too many people just don’t get it yet. Obama, the Community Organizer, is and always has been a socialist and he has used his Saul Alinsky (Rules for Radicals) training to successfully maniupulate the middle class Republican Party/Bush haters to vote for him. Obama is a smooth talking liar and in my opinion, is the devil incarnate! The Bush Administration did help set the stage for this ‘Demon’crat take over.

I know many people who bought the Obama “change” propaganda hook-line-and sinker and voted for Obama simply out of extreme hate for Bush. One thing that people failed to recognize though was that the Democrat controlled Congress was even more to blame for the failings of the Bush Administration. The time was ripe and Alinsky’s rules, which Obama was trained to use as a Community Organizer, were applied just at the right time.

No matter how much people hated Bush personally, I can’t understand why they would vote for a Communist. The only thing I can figure out is that the brainwashing began in the 60′s in the colleges and a large segment of the middle class actually believes that bigger government will “give” them more and take care of them. They believed every spoonfed word that Obama fed them. The lies are already being exposed and there are going to be some very disillusioned people very soon.

I hope that Americans wake up and see what is happening!

Anyway, I could go on and on. Thanks again for your comments and stay tuned! 2009 is going to be a bad year for American citizens and workers and the worst is yet to come.”

    Best Regards,
    Dean

Yes, congress has lost its way, but so have the American people, otherwise they wouldn’t put up with all of the B.S. , illegal immigration, bailing out greedy corporations, and banks, and all of the rest. Instead the citizens would eliminate, fire from their jobs, every single lousy politician who is enabling all of this crap.

  3. DeportH1BNow says:

And 99% of Americans are too cowardly to do anything about the CORRUPT politicians.

Not me. I’m out in the streets DEMONSTRATING. What are you doing?

GET OUT AND DEMONSTRATE if you want the U.S. to return to a democracy. Others, Marixt terrorists like Obama will continue to make you his slave.
